LoL!

Sad but true:

My school is in a town, the people who live in town walk and the people who don't ride the bus or drive, I drive. A girl in my 2nd period walks. Right now we have quite a bit of ice built up from this years harsch winter. This girl is going and trying to slip and hurt hersel on people's sidewalks that are not cleared. She is planning to sue those people for pain and suffering.

Edgar Snyder has created some monsters! Too many people are getting big bucks for stupid things!:hammer:

You DO have a responsibility to clear your walkway of ice and debris that could create a hazard. I remember this from when I lived "up north". Since I've been in Florida this has not been a big issue. I'm sure that the owner of the walk way has some liability, but probably not all of it.

Things in the UK are backwards here. My folks used to run a pub, but were advised by the legal beagles to NOT clear snow from outside. If they leave it alone, they were not liable. If they cleared it and then someone fell they would be liable for "not doing a propper job of it".

Plausible denial. Once you acknowledge and take responsibility for something, its just that, your responsibility. Did your parents ever have to test that advice, ie did anyone ever fall on the snow/ice from a belly full of stout?
