Does disney listen to people's ideas and use them with your permission. For example, if you want to see certain things change in disney and you write a letter to disney's creative department will they change what you want sometimes?? :( :dazzle:

Sure, we get sued over it all the time.

If you work for the company, you sign a statement when you are hired that says all of your ideas you submit to the company become the intellectual property of the company.

Hence, the singles line at Test Track being the idea of attractions members, but WDI takes all the credit. :brick:

1. Welcome Again.

2. This isn't really a Disney secret.

3. Unsolicited ideas will be rejected and not looked at. If it somehow is looked at, it becomes Disney ideas and you lose the rights to your idea.

Yes, they would... sometimes... but there are certain rules and regulations...
Most of the ideas people came/come up with, are ideas already existing at WDI...

Usually it's most of the time...

If You Can Dream It, We Already Thought About It...

And I know there are people who come up with the craziest and absolutely impossible things... technically, financially, or simply not worth creating, bulding or changing...

Just havin' a little fun here:

It may be lost as an unrecorded conversation, but wouldn't it be interesting to find an email or a memo proving the idea did not originate with the Imagineers?

T L Boy: I like your name. But what's up with this:
3. Unsolicited ideas will be rejected and not looked at. If it somehow is looked at, it becomes Disney ideas and you lose the rights to your idea.
Either they are looked at or not. Your unsolicited ideas cannot become Disney ideas if they are not looked at. But I understand your meaning. Whenever I come up with a great idea for WDW I'll get them to ask me, no, beg me, for it!

Disney will not accept nor will they acknowledge any unsolicited ideas or material from anyone. All big companies reject unsolicited material to avoid potential lawsuits.

Here is a brief abstract of the policy used by the General Motors Corporation:

UNSOLICITED IDEA SUBMISSION POLICY:
GM OR ANY OF ITS EMPLOYEES DO NOT ACCEPT OR CONSIDER UNSOLICITED IDEAS, INCLUDING IDEAS FOR NEW ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS, NEW PROMOTIONS, NEW PRODUCTS OR TECHNOLOGIES, PROCESSES, MATERIALS, MARKETING PLANS OR NEW PRODUCT NAMES. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY ORIGINAL CREATIVE ARTWORK, SAMPLES, DEMOS, OR OTHER WORKS. THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY IS TO AVOID POTENTIAL MISUNDERSTANDINGS OR DISPUTES WHEN GM'S PRODUCTS OR MARKETING STRATEGIES MIGHT SEEM SIMILAR TO IDEAS SUBMITTED TO GM. SO, PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR UNSOLICITED IDEAS TO GM OR ANYONE AT GM. IF, DESPITE OUR REQUEST THAT YOU NOT SEND US YOUR IDEAS AND MATERIALS, YOU STILL SEND THEM, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT GM MAKES NO ASSURANCES THAT YOUR IDEAS AND MATERIALS WILL BE TREATED AS CONFIDENTIAL OR PROPRIETARY.

I can assure you that Disney's policy is very strict in this regard. In short, they will only listen to your idea(s) as they relate to customer service.

This is what I was referring to when I said:

Not always rejected.. sometimes it's filed...

I have a question.....those artists who do pins and artwork for Disney.....how did they get in that position? How do they high people to do that type of work? Do they hire free lance artists?

Right. WDI tends to hold onto ideas that revolve around how guests experience already existing attractions.

Similar to when Walt was developing Disneyland back in the 1950's and sent his people to all the theme parks across the country to figure out what NOT to do.
