Dead Giraffe at the AK

Anyone hear about the giraffe at the AK that was struck by lightning yesterday? A storm developed over the safari and the poor thing was hit by lightning. I guess GUESTS saw it happen. There was an very short article about it in today's paper. If anyone has any more info please share.

I heard about this on the radio last night - very sad. I heard 3 safari jeeps full of guests saw it happen. I think they said the giraffe ( forget her name) was there since '98. I guess it's not uncommon for giraffes to be struck by lightening since they're tall, but very sad.

That's really sad. I love watching giraffes because they always seem so elegant.
