DMC-12’s happy, fun, solo Trip Report.

-I arrived on Sunday…just unpacked… relaxed… and hit Downtown Disney for a bit.
-Monday I spent the day in the MK
-Tuesday was a super busy day…. I had the “UNDISCOVERED Future World” tour at 8:45am… Lunch in World Showcase… Then an E-ride night at the MK.
-Wednesday I was laid up in bed…LOL I could not move.. I pushed myself to hard on Tuesday.. I needed to rest.
-Thursday was Studios
-Friday was AK in the morning and Epcot for the rest of the day
-Saturday was Epcot as well…Then PI at night
-Sunday… rest, & pack day…Then PI at night.
-Monday… fly back home.

Now… onto the Pros :

-The Future World Tour in Epcot was GREAT! I was the only person who did that tour that day. It was my own personal VIP tour.. and I loved every minuet of it. My tour guide seemed rather surprised I knew so much about Project Gemini and the changing of Future World to Discovery Land. He said a coaster is on the drawing table for SE, and made it sound like it was going to happen… He also said, “Look for Future World to really change in the next 6 years!”.

-Tonga Toast at the Kona Café in the Poly… great as always… I really love this stuff and had it twice for breakfast during my stay. Nothing like having the equivalent of a bag of sugar and a gallon of yummy coffee before you hit the parks…LOL

-Adventurers Club in Pleasure Island. I am not a big club guy.... actually... I dislike the whole club scene... and I did not want to go out to Pleasure Island solo... and, is the reason why I have never gone to Pleasure Island. But, this trip I decided to give it a try... As soon as I walked into the Adventurers Club... I fell in love with the place! Needless to say I hung out at the Adventures club all night...both nights I was there. The whole crew was very funny & talented and worth the price of admission alone. I was the guy who wound up doing the “milking the cow” dance in front of the stage that night… very funny stuff. The Adventurers Club is now one of my new favorite things at WDW!

Continuing with the Pros…

-The Guest Relations CM who gave me the FW Tour earlier in the week, went above and beyond the call of duty. He gave me 2 passes to bypass the line at Test Track & he had arranged for me to be in the Illuminations VIP viewing area Friday night. I got some really great pictures which I will post later. Best Pictures I have ever taken… I think. A truly magical experience.

-Egg Rolls and Dole Whips in Adventure Land. I have read about them so much here on the forums and how great they were… I had to try them. The Pork and Shrimp egg rolls were great! The Dole Whip was ok… but I think my system was still in sugar shock from the Tonga Toast I had earlier in the day…lol

-The Sushi at Japan in World showcase is a great light lunch! After doing my FW tour.. I did not want to eat anything really heavy that would make me tired and logy… I have had better Sushi… but this was pretty good stuff…. I was surprised.

There are many more pros and great things about my trip... but these are the ones that are still fresh in my mind... and the best.... I think.

I will move onto the cons now in my next post.

And now for the Cons :

-Every monorail I got on really stunk to high heaven. It was rather disgusting. Even if I was in a car by myself… It smelled like a petting zoo… actually… this monorail stench made most primate houses in zoos smell like a rose garden. It was really gross… and I could not wait to get off the monorails. I even had to hold my breath on a few trips.. Yes…it was THAT BAD!….lol :hurl:

-I cannot Stress enough how bad the busses were at the Downtown Disney hotels. I stayed at the Lake Buena Vista Resort / BW. These busses are run by Fleetwood Transportation.. and I think they seriously need to put there drivers thru some customer service classes…. Heck…maybe even some English courses to!!! Most of the drivers were really rude… or did not really speak the English language. Not every driver was bad… there were a couple of good ones…. But, never again… Next trip I will just stay at a WDW resort.. pay a bit more.. and just make my trip a bit shorter.

-Tuesday March 11th e-ride night. This was my first e-ride night. I did not really like it… the park seemed really crowded… and I think a lot of guests who were not participating in the e-ride night… hung around.. and made things worse. The only good thing about the e-ride night for me… was the burger I bought at Pecos Bill’s and loaded with toppings….lol

The tour sounded really cool! Keep posting I want to read more!

Recap and wrap up:

All in all…it was a great trip… I say if you wanna go solo… go for it! I was apprehensive about it while planning my trip… but it was great! Would I do a solo trip again? You bet! In a heartbeat, now that I am more comfortable with the parks and hitting them solo! But, I would do things different on my next solo trip. I would be staying at a WDW monorail resort… most likely the Poly.. I really wanna stay there. One thing I regret, I did not get a chance to rent a WaterMouse… well.. I did but actually I chickened out. I was right by the rental counter in the Poly… and I backed out.. I used to swim almost everyday.. But, I stopped doing that a few years ago.. and I am not in as good shape as I used to be.. so I chickened out… I am not saying something bad would of happened and I would of drowned.. but ya never know. Next Trip… FOR SURE… I am renting a water mouse!

Well.. That is about it for my abbreviated solo trip report… Good Food… Magical Times.. and great memories. And, I highly recommend the Future World behind the scenes tour to anyone.

OH!!! I almost forgot! The funniest thing I ever saw...

Was in Germany in Epcot.. in front of World showcase lagoon... Snow White was there for pictures... and some college girls were wearing some "I'm with Stupid <--" T-shirts. Wellthe one college girl was standing next to Snow White with the "I'm with Stupid <--" arrow pointing at snow white... I laughed sooo hard! :lol: I could not grab my camera fast enough to catch the shot though...

I still have a bunch of Digital pics to sort thru... I took a bunch...

Here was the view from my balcony... I could see the fireworks from PI to at night... pretty neat.
