I thought it was really good when my family did it last year. The kids get more close up interaction with the characters than anywhere else.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ is my favorite character meal by far. The food and service is outstanding. The M.C.s for the event are really friendly and start nice conversations with the people. The characters are really interactive and give plety of time for autograph signing. I know it cost a little more, but the service and memories are well worth it. Hope this helps your decision.

I've never actually been to the BBQ, but it has always sounded so much fun ( not to mention yummy! :animwink: ) to me :)

If you do decide to go, please tell me how it is !

I haven't heard too much about this before. Can anyone tell me more about it? Where it is at? How much is it? What kind of food? What kind of dancing. Sounds like fun. We plan on doing some meet and greet all you can eats while she(DD) is still under 2 and free.

Oh yes and would it be good for a family with an almost 2 year old girl?

Thanks.

OK, here's what I recall. Price: Slightly more than $100.00 for 2 adults, 1 child and a toddler. Our son was 6 and our daughter was 1 1/2 and they both LOVED it to death. There are high chairs for the little ones and the food is all stuff they can pick up, though you may need to pull the mean from the bones for the sake of safety.

The itinary: Arrive about 6:30pm, have your photo taken, queue up and go into the barn. Now this is the 'interesting' part. They ask you to collect you food BEFORE you take a seat. But with 2 children, a stroller and a baby bag we said 'stuff that!' and took our seats first.

The food was hot and fresh and their was plenty off it. Chicken, ribs, corn and loads of other stuff. All the beer/soda/tea/coffee you could drink. For dessert there are cakes and water melon.

Entertainment. The two comedy MC's start the evening off with some rather lame jokes, then they introduce the band and there's some songs. Then Mickey and gang arrive, photos with them and some dancing. They leave for a while and theirs square dancing lessons. Then some more dancing then the characters come back for the last hour.

Though my description doesn't really show it the characters are there for about 2 hours across the 3-4 hour event and they make sure that EVERYBODY gets a picture.

Characters were Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

Hope that helps!

Oh crap, yes, I do, and you know what, even looked up the name of the waterpark because I could only remember Blizzard and Typhoon and I still wrote Typhoon when I meant River Country. :hammer:

So, let's try that again....

Yes, it's at Fort Wilderness, in the Big Barn behind River Country.

And to make this post worth while and interesting fact.

The Restrooms for this character meal are actually in the River Country changing rooms.

AND!!!

You get a great view of the contemporary across the lake.

OK, I'm done now...

 Thanks, I should check this out next time I'm at Fort Wilderness (because that's the only place my parents wanna stay now, although I've always been more of a hotel fan myself, but hey I'm only 15, my opinions don't count anyway right? :) ) but I have a 2 yr old nephew that loves the characters so I'm sure he'd enjoy himself.
