I think that the World Showcase doesn't easily lend itself to a Mousepaper.

Maybe it just me, but I spent all week last week trying to come up with a workable concept.

As we have seen, thing like BTMRR and the avatar contest got a great response. No offense to the person who picked it but this just might have been kind of a weak idea. :veryconfu

Hopefully, the next contest will get a better response.

I havent visited the Digital Media Contests board in a while, so can someone please inform me why only 3 people entered the contest?

Solutions ;):

We could have a diffrent contest every 2 weeks. Instead of flopping back in forth like we are. I've heard some GREAT Contest ideas including a Logo Contest, and some other great ones..
Doing this would positivley bring more traffic into these kind of contest.

Just look at the Banner Contest.. What we had 20 + entrys.. Maybe not as much but it was close ;) So many entrys...
Everyone seemed to come to participate in that one.. Cause it was original (* Well Done Gang!*)

Now if Now or MSU could only put together another great *NEW* and Exciting contest we can bring these contests back on top!!!! :):):):):):)

There may only be two serious entries but they are both pretty good. I wouldn't call this contest a failure.

Besides, if YOU didn't enter the contest then YOU have no right to complain about the number of entries!

Or how about we keep having the contests everyweek, because others do like them (like me). I am all for having a logo contest or something new like an "anything walt Disney World goes". The only reason I did not enter this contest was because I could not make it work in time.

I really like DisneyCP's entry, and he was able to make the topic work.

Hey CP, did you use Photoshop to do that?

I did use photoshop. But I usually use the basics. I'm don't really use advanced functions. Basically I use the eraser, wand, layers, text, stroke and shadowing...that's it. I'm sure gimp offers the same thing but free.

Thats what I thought.

If you want a cheaper program that does the same as Photoshop, get Paint Shop Pro 7. It does the same stuff (minus some of the really advanced features) but it is only about $100. I also like it better than Photoshop. But as DisneyCp said GIMP is also a good program you can download for free. You can download it from http://www.gimp.org

Also try www.slaughterhouse.com they have some good photo software for downloads.

Well, enlighten everyone on what all of these great ideas are that you've heard. You listed a total of 1, and its a medioker idea in my opinion. I'm open to anything that everyone wants to do. I just run the contest. It certainly isn't up to only me as to what contests we do. These contests are for all of you, and my opinion doesn't count anymore than anyone else's.

Also, the banner contest was a one time thing. It really can't be done again.

I know you just run the contests MSU but im pretty bored stiff of the way they are ran right now. Just things are being mellowed down when they used to be more exciting. If a NEW contest comes along ill enter but for now...

If you're going to complain and whine, I suggest you find someplace else to do it, as it's become very stale.

Do you have a problem with the_ceo_at_wdw? When he complained about the contest, you said "We really could do without the cynical comments. I'm all for contructive criticism, but you're just being negative without helping to explain or giving alternate solutions."

He then came back and gave an example of an alternate solution, to which Main Street USA replied "Well, enlighten everyone on what all of these great ideas are that you've heard. You listed a total of 1, and its a medioker idea in my opinion."

So, now he's chastised for only giving one idea and then it's called "medioker". How do you expect him to feel at this point.

Then the_ceo_at_wdw makes a post that clearly shows his frustration at the way he's being treated and you come back with the post I quoted above.

At least he tried to make a suggestion. If everyone came up with just one new idea, we would never run out of contest material.

Anyway, just an observation.
