What's primeval whirl like? Is it worth hopping over to AK to see it if we weren't planning on going there for anything else this trip? Does it have long lines? Fast pass?

Is it more like an E attraction or a D or C?

It has FastPass... lines are kinda long but it always depends on when you get there. It's not E caliber... C most likely, D probably. The Reviews board would be the best thing to look at.

It's OKAY at best (that's just my opinion), it is different and we did enjoy it, but I wouldn't say it is worth the long lines, it's a pretty short ride actually. We did fastpass, so that helped, I think we would have been disappointed with it if we had waited.

If you have been on these types of rides in the past, then skip it. If not, it is a neat experience, and their is an entire section of Dinoland themed to fit the mood so it could be a nice diversion, but don't expect too much unless you thrill easily.

It sucks. It's not worth going to the park for. But, if you happen to be going there anyways...

I thought it was fun, but I wouldn't make a special trip just to ride it. When I went on it first thing in the morning, I was able to get a fastpass, rode the ride twice, then went and rode Dinosaur, ambushed markymark coming out of the loo, and went back and used my FP. By that time, there was quite a line.

i got s kick out of dinorama. it's cute. though we didn't do primevil whirl it looked cute, like most people said not an e ride but it's done well. if you haven't been there do it at least once. if you have kids they would love that area of the park. and since you are over there do dinosaur. it's really cool.

I like it. It's a spinning wild mouse coaster, themed with dinosaurs.

It was pretty cool...I like the swirling things when you're going up the lift hill!

The upper turns on the ride are too heavily braked to be fun. The two major drops on the ride are pretty fun, but nothing special. The best part is the spin turns, kind of like the Tilt-A-Whirl on coaster track. This makes or breaks the ride, if you spin fast, it's fun, but if you get a slow spin, the ride's no good. It's worth a try if you have nothing else to do and can get in as part of your ticket, but otherwise don't bother.

It sucks..LOL Have you ever been to the state fair and rode on of those cheesy mouse coasters. Well there ya go then... I think it was just a waste of space. But ya know here is a thought.. that area is suppose to be about dinosaurs and stuff really old, well, maybe under the premise of old and out dated, then it fits perfectly

OK everyone, lets get something straight here. Disneyworld, IMHO, is certainly NOT About thrill rides. There are some that are pretty awesome, but Disney is not in competition with the Six Flags type of theme parks. Never has been and probably never will be. Disney is a completely different mindset. I just went over this with my sister last week. I adore Disney and prefer it to just about everyplace else, but if you are looking for a throw you around spill your guts afterwards coaster it is likely you arent looking in Disney. As far as Primevil Whirl, I loved it!! it is certainly not the most advanced coaster that Disney has ever done, however it makes me giggle!! A LOT!!! For me it is just another reason to make a stop in Animal Kingdom. Of course once I Am in Animal Kingdom I cant miss my Tarzan Rocks! show. Id say give it a shot, it isnt Rock N Roller Coaster but it is very cute! Have fun on your trip!

wannabeBelle is absolutelty right. Disney is about theme, not thrill. When that survey of the best thrill rides came out a few months ago, some people were angry that ToT or RnR didn't show up higher than it did, but where Disney loses in thrills, they make up for in theme. If you want to feel like your going to die any second, barf twice and have your hair look like Don King, go to Six Flags.

When I went in August there wasn't any need to Fast Pass. I have to say that if you have back problems you will not enjoy this ride. I could barely move after riding it.

Well,

Even the theming of this ride is poor, and very out of place (substandard) at a Disney park, IMHO. :) Like someone said above...it is very "state fair" and carny like. If you like the Tilt-a-whirl...then you will love Primeval Whirl....its really not worth a wait in line though :)

I wouldn't say the theming is poor per se. It doesn't look like it's very well themed, but looks can be decieving. It is designed to look cheesy and cheap, or carny-like. There really is quite a bit of detail there. They even made the pavement look like an old parking lot!:) I thought that was very clever. It really does serve its storyline well, in my own opinion.

That being said, I thought the rides were fun, but not worth going out of your way for. Afterall, they are just off the shelf sort of rides (which is not to say that they are necessarily evil  ).

Herbie....I agree with you... as that whole area is themed as "cheesy" on purpose...like the new pop century resort. But you guys know I how feel about Disney using off the shelf rides in there parks ;). It just seems so half assed and Un-imaginative of them. :)

I have to agree with you also. Even though I liked the theming, it really does seem like in this case they are using theming as a cover up for an otherwise lackluster attraction. I know we all agree that Disney theming is wonderful, but they shouldn't use it as a crutch.

I thought it was fun...yeah, maybe it's more like a carnival ride...but, to me, it's got some terrific 'tongue in cheek' theming...and it's very colorful and not meant to be taken serious...how could it?

...we went on it about 10 times without fastpasses...we avoided the lines when they were long at certain times during the day and rode when the lines were non-existent ...each and every time, we got off the ride with a smile...it was fun...just plain fun...not worth going to Disney World for, but definately worth visiting if you're there.:)

...but could have they made the exit ramp on that left side any longer?.... Holy Cow!
