The original post on this thread dealt with a snappy an temporary depression I developed while listening to a soundtrack, and recalling fond days. :)

This thread was intended for discussion of past attractions and try to make some use discussing it...of course, it didn't turn out that way...but remember - Look at what comes your way open-mindedly and in many perspectives. ...That's a key to progress!!

They are gone... get over it.

I was waiting for you to say that.

(They are actually alive...just not in physical form. What gets me is the new physical form!)

I know what you mean

You know I've watched person after person criticize Grizzly Hall- that he wants to build a shrine to extinct Disney attractions, can't move on, etc. What people seem to so continuously miss is that he seems to be the person on this board with the most vision for WDW's future. I feel that when he sees an attraction torn down and replaced with an attraction of a lesser quality and level of innovation it's heart wrenching because it just doesn't make sense, degrades the Disney product and insults the consumer.

I think that ultimately he likes change more than most average people. He seems to want to see the original attractions inspire new creations that capture the essence of the original and take it to new heights.

I personally believe that his longing for extinct attractions isn't about going back to an over-idealized "golden age", but actually a longing for a product that built upon the successes of the originals- take what made the originals of such a Disney quality and just up that unmatched Disney quality level even further.

Personally, I say read his posts more carefully and keep an open mind. His vision is very closely aligned with that of Walt, whose vision you can very rarely argue with. I don't feel he generally cries over loss of what was, but rather the loss of such great potential and for what could be.

That's such a pity. Steamboat Willie put lots of effort into his post...I hope you at least read it. Not that you would agree, but that you would listen!!!

But that's just darnright rude!!!

I to like change and progress as long as the change is better then the last!
I truly hate it when they tear down rides and build rides of lesser quality or even worse just leave it there blank or put a character greet and meet like 2,000 leagues under the sea! Heck I love change! This new space ride looks awesome!:D
