According to a press release on XBoxAddict.com, TDK and Disney will create a new video game based on the popular Disney ride, Pirates of the Caribbean. LucasArts will probably not be involved, so why would would you possibly be interested? Because Pirates of the Caribbean was the major inspiration behind the Monkey Island series, so it will be interesting to see how the two games compare. Here's a quote from the press release:
"We are pleased to be bringing these incredible Disney theme park attractions to life in the world of interactive games," said Vincent Bitetti, chief executive officer, TDK Mediactive. "As we look to 2003 and beyond to be the `sweet spot’ for our industry, `Haunted Mansion’ and `Pirates of the Caribbean’ theatrical releases will be incredible events with which to launch the game titles on a worldwide basis."

I love "Adventures in the Magic Kingdom" for NES!

The best level is the Pirates of the Caribbean. Those Skeletons sitting in the gold throwing coins at you are a pain!

Yeah, that's it! Sorry, I got the title wrong. You have to collect keys, so that's where I got confused. :hammer:

That is one HARD game. All of it is really hard. The easiest part is the trivia quiz. Did anyone ever complete it? I could never be bothered. Haunted Mansion is pretty hard. And you need REALLY quick reflexes for Space Mountain. BTM was a strange game as well. In fact, most of it is pretty weird! :king:

yeah, I beat the game when I was a kid (took me about 3 or 4 rentals, IIRC). Nowadays, I play it on my emulator and just use "Save State" to blow through it. I really can't believe I beat it the "honest" way once. Everytime I try now, I just get so frustrated that I say 'screw it!' and F5 that sucker!

And to answer your question, 2much2do, both attractions have movies set for release in the near future. I believe "Mansion" (starring Eddie Murphy--so help me, it's true) will be out sometime next year, and "Pirates" doesn't have a definite release date yet, to the best of my knowledge.

WHATS AT THE END??????

I played that game for years and could never get past HM or PoC, everything else was decently easy. What happens when you get all the keys? Do you get to see the Utilidors like the real keys to the kingdom tour?

Nah...nothing that impressive. :)

After you walk over to the castle, the screen fades to black, then you see these big golden doors open, and then you see Mickey in a musical conductor's outfit, thanking you for the help. The final screen is the 4 of you (Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and the kid you play) standing in front of a blank background with the word "End."

Kind of a letdown, really.

Continuing the earlier thread drift: :D

Here's another screenshot from "AITMK". This is your inventory screen after all 6 keys have been collected.
