Monsters inc ride

I have been thinking why not make a roller coaster ride of monsters inc. It would startout lifting you from the door hatch and then on a track for a high-speed chase to catch randall and put boo back in her door. it's only a thought and it is NOT A RUMORED PROJECT. but it could start also by lanuching you into the door at the charactergreet[that sgin that pulls out to let the charecters roam around] and into the monster world.

Yeah, I've read that idea someplace else...actually it's a good idea but the only problem is that a rollercoaster based on Monsters Inc. really wouldn't work all that well because all the kids would be upset that they wouldn't be able to ride it and see their lovable monster pals (because they wouldn't make the height restriction) although, a nicely down kiddy coaster would be cool...(if it was long and not like the Barnstormer)

Ok how about a 2 coaster loop together, one small children proof (Slow no invertions at all) and a trill ride for the rest of us, so there's a way to create a kids and parents coaster that has the same amount of time but with each one unique experience for the family members...

That 2 intertwined coaster idea seems vaugely similar to the old Excavator idea that was suppose to go into Dinoland USA at AK. Hmmm... maybe they can still use it........

Yeah, look around the imagineering board, you'll find a thread with this idea, even though this thread may be headed there anyway. Of course I mean no harm saying this, but just for newer people who are just discovering the boards, i do just wish for the sake of the boards, and steve, more people would scroll down and see that there are other forums then just News and Rumors and General Discussion. Maybe someday....:hammer:

See, now that would be cool!!! Now...you said that you'd chase Randall...would there be a double track with a randall car and a monster's car??? Or, would your train just "chase" a randall figure on the same track...This idea has some serious potential!

Yeah, that's a viable point. the focus is typically on the sides of the track. if you sent a vehicle with an animatronic programed with the motions just ahead of the ride vehicle and as you mentioned the guests would be chasing randall. You would not need such a usual wide area filled with theming. Something new we haven't experienced before... and it a ride targeted to the younger quests... but an intorduction to the thrills of a coaster. good one!

On that matter since this "chase" is done on the warehouse of Monsters Inc. Office... it also could be on an building and the entrance of the ride could be with changing or revolting doors so there will be a link to the movie other than the chase or the theme...and the exit (to the store of course) will be "Boo's" door as it is on the final of the movie. The kids track could have along the way some of the caracters and the storyline and the "xtreme" track could be the actual chase (2 for the price of one)

If you guys really wanted to make this work, and wanted to include the Charecters from the movie, Then don't just limit it to the warehouse (which would be very boring indeed, nothing to see) Instead, have your car ENTER a few doors as you chase randall, and end up in new scenes. For example, you'd Chase Randall into a Door, and end up in Paris, In a little girls room, with Mike running around trying to get the Kid's Pajama's off his head or something, then You'd go back into the closet, and back into the main room, and fly around for a bit, and go into another door, and pop out in Hawaii or India...Or Some place, just pick a country, and put a bedroom in it. Heck, you could even put multiple paths, and make the bedrooms you go into different each time...This would be better then just zooming around a warehouse.....

you could even make one of the rooms a scene of Andys room in Toy Story

Ok the Park has to be MGM later ad it to Fantasyland in DL. And for the rooms, since is a rollercoaster it would work as in RnR Rollercoaster, but then again adding rooms like Andy's or Peter Pan's Wendy bedroom hey even Christopher Robin's room would be nice...:sohappy:

Disney should start thinking about this one!!! seriously

On the other hand think about a motion based attraction like the Spiderman... it could work with the tecnology used in the Aladdin; Magic Carpet Ride that was tested in Epcot in 1994 (I think and now is in Disney Quest?)

How about that for the fun of it :D

In my opinion, I would rather see this be a "Spidey" attraction rather than a coaster...it could easily be done with the idea I have for a Herbie attraction...PM me if you want some more info on it.

Good idea but the two coaster idea is still the best.

The kid ride could be a kiddy coaster with the kids train chasing Mike because he is afraid of kids and Sully calms him down. They drive throughout Monsters Inc. (the lobby, the lockeroom, where Randall appears on the side of the lockers and finally the door loading area) And everywhere they go another Monster sees them and they call the child patrol on them. So Sully decides to take the kids into another kids bedroom to escape from the child patrol. So they go into the closet door area and the kids get out and hop onto a platform and the doors come down in front of them ( there are two doors) Then the doors open and the kids go into the bedrooms, well the bedrooms walls all rise up and the kids find out it was the scare testing areas that they were in and they jump into another car that races down a hall while being chased by the child patrol (big screens with projections) and then they go to the door warehouse and thats where you meet up with mom and dad. The Kids are going to be Sully and Mike trying to capture their parents, Randall. Who is guarding Boos Door

The parents tracks are inverted and there is a door that is attached to the train that hangs in front of them. The parents could start off in the lockeroom and be shot off (like RnR) down a hallway, then some doors at the end open up and your door attaches to your train, then you go through the warehouse on a thrilling ride and finally get captured by your children.

i need to think how i will get the doors to keep coming back in front of the warehouse door without hitting another train. i guess it could work like a railroad system, like when the trains trade tracks

Am i confusing you?
:veryconfu
maybe i can get a pic up

-The blue dotted lines are the doors tracks
-the little rows of blue boxes are the lockers
-the two green tracks are the kids coasters
-the purple track is the big kids coaster

I didnt include any rooms that much, just the kids coaster going through Monsters Inc. and the adult coaster going through the warehouse

NOTE: Im not sayin this is what it should or will look like (if built), just giving an idea

sorry i couldnt get it on here cuz it was a invalid file type so i zipped it up

Heading for the great escape.
Lets continue this thread where it should be... In the imagineer section

Pedantic, yes i think thats how its spelt, I suggest you look this word up in dictionary. I bet youre the sort of person that seperates white socks from coloured in the drawer.
This looks remarkably like a discussion to me.
