Pre-Trip Report 20th Dec- 30th Dec 2011 CHRISTMAS HONEYMOON....

Hi Everyone..

I thought I'd do my pre trip report to mark my 12th time visiting Disney World and because its the busiest week in Disney, I would like your opinions on our itenary and our disney dining options.

So here goes: Me and my partner James get married in the UK on 17th December 2011.. we travel to disney on the following Tuesday 20th December.

Let me introduce myself and James:

This is a photo of me and James at Disney early December 2008, seeing the amazing Osbourne Lights! wow.. :)

So.. our plans so far..

Tuesday 20th- Fly from Manchester Airport to Orlando International. We should arrive around 3 pm ish Florida time. From here we are met by the same taxi person we have had for years now called Marty and we will head to a supermarket to pick up some essentials. Then off to PORT ORLEANS Riverside to check in... After this we have decided ( as I have stayed here before) that we will catch the boat to Downtown Disney to grab some Irish fish and chips from Cookes of Dublin.. before heading back to our room, for a much needed rest.

Wednesday 21st- We have reservations for the breakfast at the Crystal Palace at 8:15am. Meaning we will be in the park before it opens at 9. This is something I have never done before. eeek :) Then explore MK as much as we can... then we have reservations around 6 ish at the plaza restuarant.. then I'm hoping we will stay for wishes etc..

Thursday 22nd- We decided on Animal Kingdom- we feel as we will have had a very busy first day at MK. I have however, booked a special suprise for my fiance and we will be getting the bus to fort Wilderness to have a horse drawn sleigh ride, eeek! :xmas: At night we have ADR for T-REX at DD- another restaurant I have never been to.

Friday 23rd- We are going offsite to Universal Studios- I haven't been to Universal for about 4 years, so I'm looking forward to seeing it again. Mainly looking forward to the Macy's parade! Afterwards might go on IDRIVE and eat at the golden corral.

Saturday 24th- We are going to visit Hollywood Studios. We have ADR for 50's prime time (never visited) at 3:10pm, while the parade is on. Looking forward to seeing the new star wars ride. Late at night, hope to see fantasmic, followed by the osbourne lights.

Sunday 25th (xmas day)- We have chosen EPCOT. we have prebooked the Candlelight processional dining package. We chose Rose and Crown, as its christmas day and we will be missing home and our families. Going to try to go for rope drop, as its early morning magic hours.

Monday 26th- We have decided to visit Universal Islands this day... as we aren't so fussed about seeing it tbh. But we would like to see Harry Potter world.

Tuesday 27th- Think we need to revist MK

Wednesday 28th-We are going to Epcot- where we have been a little greedy- we have ADR for chefs de france at lunch and an evening reservation for the garden grill.

Thursday 29th- We haven't decided- but we think it could be Hollywood Studios and finish off with shopping etc..

Saturday 30th- Fly back home:(

Anyway, we will get home on new years eve! To start a new year as husband and wife!!

I will definitely write a trip report when we our home.

If anyone has any comments or advice about christmas week.. anything would be useful!!

Thanks :)

It sounds like you have a great trip planned. That is a wonderful time of year to get married. My anniversary is Dec. 19. It will be 13 years this December. I've never been there that close to Christmas, so I can't offer any advice that way. We've not had breakfast at Crystal Palace, but we have eaten at Cinderella's Royal Table twice for breakfast and entered the park before official opening. Try to go as early as possible so you can get pictures of Main Street and the castle without many people in them. It truly is magical that early in the morning! Hope you have a great wedding and Disneymoon!!

CONGRATULATIONS! I can't think of a better place to honeymoon. Sounds like you have really planned things out which is fantastic! The restaurants you mentioned that you have not been to before are are great ones I think you will enjoy! My favorite part is the surprise sleigh ride!! Have a wonderful time and a wonderful and happy life together as husband and wife!

Sounds like a wonderful trip!! Christmas at Disney is the greatest time of year to visit, IMO.

I've been over to IOA to see WWOHP twice and it's really well done. Our family loves Universal/IOA anyways but we really loved WWOHP.

Take lots of pics for us!! :)

Your trip sounds FANTASTIC so far! Sigh, I wish I could be going for you!

For the days that you're not sure what to do, just play it by ear when you get to them. You have a lot of room to relax, and do just that... leave time to enjoy the hotel! :animwink:
Early congrats on the wedding, and can't wait to see the pictures/TR!

Sounds awesome!!!

Since you are going at the busiest time of year, be prepared to get up early, be at the parks at rope drop, and use a touring plan. That will save you a lot of time waiting on line. Don't forget to just enjoy everything Disney has o offer during the holidays. I can spend hours just watching the Osbourne spectacle of lights, or Holidays around the world. It's great that you're doing a CP dinner package. You're guaranteed a seat for this amazing event and you get to enjoy a nice dinner and special fireworks viewing too!

Enjoy!!!:xmas:
