Drive from Tampa?

If I were flying into tampa, where in the city is the airport? and how long is the drive? We are trying to decide if it is worth it to fly in there or not.

According to my DeLorme Street Atlas USA 2005 program, the airport is in the western part of the city near the bay.

It is 78 miles from the Tampa airport to the MK toll booth.

Thanks.... so thru the city... avoid rush hour.

absolutely. You've got to go all the way through Tampa and the traffic is notoriously horrible and there is a lot of road construction on I-275 and I-4. Definitely avoid rush hour if you can.

Yes the traffic is the worst part. Like Scott said make sure you miss from 3:30 to about 6:30 pm. Otherwise, I have made it from my old apartment (right across the bridge in Clearwater) to the Mickey Powerlines (aka MK exit) in 45-50 Minutes.
