Just got back from another fantastic vacation, which I will of course discuss in detail for the delight of my loyal Jimmy Fans, but first I simply must go into detail how I broke some guys nose.

Now it was on my second night there and it was around 8:45 pm at Epcot and my son and I decided to hit Spaceship Earth before we too the Monorail back to our resort. While we were almost getting loaded into our car, some guy behind me, who was pulling out a video camera to film the ride, got a little too close to me and I accidentally must have clipped him right in the face with my elbow.

The guy was a mess.

The guys nose, I don't know if it was messed up to begin with, was on the other side of his face and he was bleeding like a stuck pig all over the place, his wife started acting hysterical and shoved tampons up his nose. Disney took this guy off stage pretty quick once his wife was yelling. This guy was acting like a fool and made them take me too, he was lying I suppose and told them I purposely hit him, to which I assured everyone involved if I hit him he would have been out cold considering I didn't hit him that hard and broke his nose.

On top of everything, this guy was upset his camera was totaled and expected me to pay for it.

Now, I did feel bad, a little, but my son was laughing his little butte off at the whole situation, so I did offer to buy the guy dinner at any place on property. This fool wanted me to pay for his camera, I said no, since filming rides is really not permitted, I was not going to pay for his camera and scoffed at the notion, it was dinner on me or nothing. He wanted a new camera.

Disney totally sided with me, and said I owed this guy nothing, to after I thought of it, I started to agree with them, and rescinded my dinner offer and told the guy, sorry, sucks to be you, and went on my way. It was around 9:10 and my son and I headed for the monorail.

While we were walking out, the same Disney security guy came up to us and asked us if we still wanted to ride SSE, as they kept it running, my son and I, even in the midst of a rather comical incident, still got a dose of Disney magic, and took up that offer with huge smiles on faces.

My advice?

Pay attention to your surroundings.

Jimmy Thick-Best SSE ride EVER!!!!!

This is a tough one...it's really no ones fault but then again you have understand that I'm looking at it from an third party perspective here. In my opinion you didn't necessarily "owe him" as far as paying for the camera goes but feel that offering him something towards the repair or towards a new camera would have been the way to go here. However it kind of sounds like he acted like a jerk and could have handled the situation a little better, even if his nose was bleeding. But then again your "sucks to be you" comment wasn't really called for :) Offering him dinner was a nice gesture but I suppose I can see why a man whose nose and camera had suddenly been broken would have been in a bit of a bad mood.

It's a crummy situation but that's personally what I would have done.

enjoyed the story. Was he just walking and not looking? I'm guessing you were already on the moving platform, still you kind of have to be an idiot to run into someone in that queue. Why would you not be paying attention when you're getting ready to board the ride anyway?

if it was an accidently and the guy walked into Jimmy, Jimmy doesn't owe him anything, especially not anything towards a new camera which broke because the guy wasn't paying attention to where he was going. If someone isn't paying attention when you're driving on the road and they rear-end you, you don't offer to pay for the damages...it was their fault, they should have been paying attention and not following so damn close.

Shooting video on Spaceship Earth is allowed with no external lighting.

and like I said in my response he doesn't "owe him". But if I was in the same situation I would have offered to put something towards a new camera. Perhaps I like to put myself in other peoples shoes sometimes and imagine how I would feel in such a situation.

Watch where you are going!!!!! Coming from someone who has been subjected to other guests, strollers, wheelchairs, and ECVs "bumping" into me. Simple courtesy of keeping a safe distance. It is really too much to ask? I guess for some it is.

How come so many people can successfully navigate the park without running into anyone else? I would be surprised if this was this "victim"'s first collision. Sounds like he was looking for someone else to fund a new camera for him.

 That would have been an awkward meal...I think I would pony up some cash for the camera before I would put myself in that situation

especially after the guy demanded that Jimmy pay for a new camera. I get that accidents happen, but this guy was looking to blame Jimmy. And offering any kind of compensation is an admission of blame. I would have given the guy a big "watch where the hell you're going next time!"

EDIT: oh and Jimmy, thanks for starting another debate thread as the one we were working on earlier this morning was shut down by the Mods., which tends to happen when someone mentions King Louie on these forums!

and thats fine, I don't think any less of anyone for that. I guess it's just my demeanor to feel bad for people in situations.

Haha no way man, the wdwmagic folks are some of the coolest people I know. People react differently to situations...it all adds to the fun:lol: But yeah I absolutely think the guy is goofy in the first place for running into someone.

Yeah and taking still picture is allowed with no flash, but that doesn't stop people from doing it.

I have tried many time to video and always have flash at some point in my video's.
