Heading for the great escape.

Hey fans! On April 1, we will close Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast and immediately begin work on an all-new experience based on an amazing concept. The new attraction is just one of many exciting things planned for the next couple of years. Meanwhile, Boy Genius fans will be excited to know that the attraction will re-open for limited periods during the spring and summer before closing permanently on August 18

No resting on their laurels for Universal

Just saw this on facebook. Very happy to see this ride go. I loved the Hannah Barberra ride as a kid, but the Jimmy ride lacked the spirit of the original and the ride system had become completely dated. I'm hoping that exciting new attraction doesn't mean 3d movie or bumpy seats. I want a real family dark ride there as that is one thing that the studios really needs. Aside from ET and Jaws, there's not much that the whole family can ride together of an actual ride. They have plenty of 3d movies.

Universal's contract with the creators of Jimmy Neutron is coming to an end, thus the reason for the change. They already have some Despicable Me characters out in the parks for photo ops, so likely a good rumor to lean on.

With Universal removing Jimmy Neutron there will be no Nick attractions in the parks...do you see any new nick attraction coming to the parks anytime soon or is Universal getting away from Nick?

Well, for Universal's sake, I hope they keep some things like Spongebob, Dora, and Diego. If they go, my little girl will not be happy at all. She could care less about the ride as she has to sit in the stationary seats now, but she loves to see the Dora and Diego Characters in person!

We steer clear of the Barney area for obvious reasons!

Not surprised, the Jimmy Neutron franchise is dead and I thought the movie was crap to begin with.

And Despicable Me? I'm pretty sure that francise is going to die quicker than Jimmy Neutron.

I think the note that the attraction will briefly reopen kills any hope of a new ride system. They will probably use the initially close to begin programming the new film, leaving construction until after the final closure in August.

Any presence is half hearted without the real studio.

I enjoy this ride and I will be sorry to see it go. Glad I rode it one last time in December.
I look forward to something new!

It will be interesting to see what they do replace it with and if they just retheme the current ride.

I will miss the Llamas though!

It's always so creepy to walk through the Barney queue and show building for HHN...

I figured this would happen. Still, it's kinda sad that the former home of Nick Studios now has nothing to do with Nick at all...

Good riddance. Most of those shows aren't even on the air anymore, and this was a poor choice of theme to begin with. I'm still shocked they chose Neutron as the face of the attraction over Spongebob. At least kids still know who he is.

I'm a little peeved that they're announcing an attraction closure without telling us what will replace it though. The new attraction is supposed to be the big news, not the old one closing.

Jimmy was a sickening ride, It was heavy on motion sickness. I always skip over it when I go, but I'm going to be riding it more in the next couple months just because of this news. Even through the sickness you gotta experience something before its lost.
