Whatever happened to TTA sponsorship?

In November of 2004, Alamo renewed its alliance with WDW and DL, and was to sponsor TTA at MK....but as of yet, I have not seen anything in the parks related to this.

Alamo renews, adds to Disney alliance

Fort Lauderdale-based Alamo Rent A Car says it has extended its marketing alliance with Walt Disney World Resort in Kissimmee and Disneyland Resort in California.

The agreement reaffirms Alamo's position as the official rental car company of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. It is also to include new marketing and promotional opportunities and special offers for Alamo and Disney customers, the car renter says.

As the official rental car company of Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, Alamo is to be the primary corporate sponsor of the new Mullholland Madness ride at Disney's California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort. The company is also to sponsor the Tomorrowland Transit Authority ride at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort.

John MacDonald, vice president of marketing for Vanguard Car Rental USA, which operates Alamo, says the alliance also offers Disney theme park visitors exclusive promotions when choosing Alamo.

Alamo says it will continue to promote the alliance in newspaper and television advertising, at its rental facilities and on its Web site.

The company also says it will maintain its outbound call-transfer program designed to connect Alamo customers to Disney for multiday theme park ticket sales.

In addition, Alamo says it retains its position as the official rental car supplier for Walt Disney Travel Co., a tour operator specializing in Disney vacation packages to Southern California and Central Florida.

Hmmm, Interesting question. I almost forgot about the TTA Sponsorship. I wonder what the delay is? Siemens hasn't wasted any time slapping its name on SSE.

Looking at it, it's sort of hard to advertise a car rental company when Disney insists that you use the DME.

Not really anything to do with the whole "where is the Alamo signage". Just a funny observation.

A little ironic. Following this scenario, I wonder if Alamo's name will be added once DME is no longer free or elimanated?

Hello, Alamo has just started it's sponsorship of Mullholland Madness as of the first of this year. Their sponsorship signs just went up in January, so maybe the TTA's will be coming soon.

I have not heard anything...but a rehab of the TTA has been spinning on the Rumor Mill for quite some time. It does need it. Mullholand Madness did not have any referances to Alamo when I visited in June.

It would seem to make sense that if they ever did that long-rumored Space Mtn rehab to go ahead and redo TTA at the same time, since TTA travels through Space Mtn. Of course, that may not work out monteraily, but I'd imagine they'll have to temporarily shut down TTA for any Space Mtn rehab, due to liability and such.

Good point. I would love to see some updated and new scenes along TTA. Such a fun ride, and an easy one to add to the whole TL story.

I don't know. Love went many a year ago when they were doing work on Space Mountain. TTA was not only up and running, but when you went through there, the lights were on, workers were all over and some even sitting around on the scaffolding eating lunch. They might just cover the windows next time but they probably wouldn't need to shut TTA down completely. When Mickey's Star Traders was under rehab, they just blacked the windows.
