Too much bread. If I order snails, I want to taste snails. When you dug the suckers out of the bread cups they were good.

Do you like the lovely watery setting for the picture - enjoy it, the majority of the rest are shot on top of garbage cans :(

Belgium
Steamed Mussels with Roasted Garlic Cream
Freshly Baked Waffles with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream
Hoegaarden Beer

Mussels were good, with a non-overpowering sauce, but really, could they have sourced smaller mussels? I don't think smaller ones exist.

The waffle - knocked it out of the park. Hot, malty, airy, with a crisp outside. Compote was an excellent mixture of sweet and tart, not at all like a syrup (which I was hoping it would not be). The whipped cream was Reddi-Whip which I find a touch too sweet, but still, at least it was not Cool Whip - bleah.

Hoegaarden was good too, as it always is :)

Bison Chili with Wild Mushrooms, Cabernet, and Pepper Jack Cheese
Sam Adams Festival Beer

OK, I am a bit of a snob here - CHILI DOES NOT HAVE BEANS IN IT. CHILI ALSO HAS MASA IN IT. So whatever they gave me (with beans, and lacking masa) was NOT in my book chili.

Whew, now that my rant is over, the "chili" was good. Nice mild heat, good flavor, but if there was a mushroom hiding in it, I could not find it.

The Sam Adams Festival beer was a lot like their Boston Larget to me, but then I had nothing to compare it to.

6:30 PM Sugar Ray break

Can I just say they had an excellent set. They even said they were glad to be playing EPCOT Center - maybe they knew what they were talking about, maybe it was a slip, but I noticed :)

South Africa

Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree and Mango Barbecue Sauce

La Capra Shiraz

232323232%7Ffp63277%3Enu%3D6898%3E%3A6%3B%3E257%3EWSNRCG%3D32%3C9898784348nu0mrj

Excellent. Nice puree of sweet potato. Nothing funky in it. Very clean tasting. Tenderloin was great. Cooked to medium (I prefer rare) but I was not expecting it cooked to order. The BBQ sauce was tangy and not at all overpowering. A nice foil to the sweet puree.

The Shiraz - What is with F&W, South Africa, and this penchant for wacky wine labels. This year La Capra. Last year Goats do Roam. Anyway. I liked it. Lots of spice, lots of pepper, continues to develop as you drink it. It's around $10 a bottle I believe. Not a bad wine at all.

Mexico

Tamal de Pollo
Dos Equis Beer

232323232%7Ffp63259%3Enu%3D6898%3E%3A6%3B%3E257%3EWSNRCG%3D32%3C989878%3A348nu0mrj

Meh - not bad, but kind of on the bland side. Not really much going on in the flavor department at all. Dos Equis is, well, Dos Equis

Argentina

Grilled Beef Skewer with Chimichurri Sauce and Boniato Puree
Roasted Corn and Cheese Empanada

232323232%7Ffp6326%3B%3Enu%3D6898%3E%3A6%3B%3E257%3EWSNRCG%3D32%3C987%3A775348nu0mrj

Both very nice. Again meat was done more than I like, but thats to be expected. Well done traditional Chimichurri sauce. Nice cut of meat, with good meaty flavor.

The Empanada had a good mix of sweet corn and savory cheese going on. But man was that sucker hot (temperature, not spice-wise)

It's 9AM and I want to eat all those things.

But the waffle especially (just because it's breakfast time).

Thanks Dave!

Nice reviews. I was hoping someone would come up with some F&W pics and reviews.

Did you do the PftS? Or the 3D dessert party? I have both of those booked, but am not sure what to expect.

Nope, I did neither of them.

I did do the Wine and Dine Half Marathon after party. - That was not too swift.

AMEN BROTHER! Chili is meat, sauce and spices! NO BEANS! My DH swears by his homemade chili with no beans..... Heck even food network had a chili special and a majority of it was no beans!
Thanks for the pics! looks very Yummy!:)

Forget blowing. Dunk it in a beer.

Really, they must have just pulled it out of the fryer.

Have a good time when you go.

Thanks

Dave! Waffles & beer! My kinda livin' right there! :slurp:

Awesome pics. Thanks so much for the reviews. All the beer has my mouth watering. I may have to rush over to Epcot the first couple days of our upcoming trip to do some sampling.... :slurp:

You got everything in Belgium except for the Godiva Chocolate Iced Coffee. Damn was that good, but ridiculously overpriced. It was 7.25 for a dixie cup sized portion, that was full of ice. BUT, it was surprisingly strong. Maybe see if they will serve w/o the ice?

I liked the empanadas, and loved the Escargot. Well, at least the bread, the wife ate the snails. They gypped you though, we got 4, you only had 3.

I debated on the coffee, but passed. I have had Godiva liquer plenty of time, and really it does not thrill me.

Now I need to go back and get that last escargot. :(

Thanks for sharing! Now I really hope we get to go next year. My husband is such a foodie, he'd love it.

Like a lot of people, no way am I eating snails, but I'll spllit that with my husband- I'll just have the bread and he can have the snails! :D Never met a carb I didn't like anyway. I do think the snails might have been bigger than the mussels.

Too bad about both the meat dishes being overcooked. But I bet the chefs/ Disney walk a fine line there. All that food sitting out waiting to be purchased, they don't want anyone to get sick that's for sure! But if it was hot enough to burn, maybe that's the issue? Plus I wonder - that later in the day, the more well done the meat? Or are there enough people buying that that's not even an issue?

Either way, thanks again!

Awesome pics and reviews Dave. Thanks for sharing. My husband is pretty adventurous when it comes to food, I on the other hand am sort of middle of the road. I would try most everything you described EXCEPT the escargot. Just not a fan of things that crawl in the dirt...:ROFLOL: But I am always impressed by people who are willing to eat on the more adventurous side.
