Hmm, how's LATE August (I'm talking Aug 28->)

I was wondering exactly how good of a month late Aug/ early Sept is to go. I'm planning to go Aug 28th- Sept 6th.

I'm looking specifically for CROWD LEVELS, and wait times. How long are waits for rides? More importantly - how do the crowds FEEL? Do they feel unbearable, or can I probably handle it with a lot of water and sunscreen.

Anyone willing to share their experiences will be greatly welcomed and thanked!

It will be hot, very humid with rainstorms every afternoon. The crowds are still up, but not as bad as earlier in the month. The lines will still be long for most rides and EMH will be packed. Don't know how the water & sunscreen will help you deal with the crowds, the weather yeah but the crowds?

They can be oppresive at times and tempers are short. If you have trouble dealing with that you may want to re consider your time frame.

I agree, hot and humid!

I went this year Aug 21-Sep 1.
Still crowded, mostly with Europeans and New York/New Jersey residents.
Still lines, but except for Soarin', Mission Space, and Test Track no line was longer than a 60 minute wait. Most were 30-45 minute waits. Use the FastPass whenever possible though.

HOT AND HUMID! and frequest rains/showers. Most dont last more than 10-15 minutes. The temperature can really bring you down. That makes EMH probably more crowded that normally, but with the sun down it takes the edge off the heat, and people are easier to deal with. However, it still remains humid and hot at night.

Never really crowded in the walkways between attractions, could always maneuver around, but watch the strollers.

Funny thing though, on our last full day (Aug 31) the crowdes at MK were extremely light until the mid afternoon. We looked around and wondered if the park had closed or we were missing something. Rode space mountain 3 times from open (9:00am) till 12:00, each time a straight walk on. Same thing with Pooh, and Philharmagic, all walk ons until after 12. then the crowdes filled in.
Hope this helps out.

One more thing.
HOT AND HUMID! means temperatures averaging 98-100 degrees during most of the day with 90+% humidity each day.
After the daily rains/showers, the temperature cools down to the low 90's/upper 80's for about 30 minutes, but then goes back up the upper 90's and the humidity stays about 98-99%.

HOT AND HUMID!
Im from Texas and vacationed a few times in Houston. Weather is similar in most regards, so I could tolerate it, but i saw some people who were just suffering their entire trip. If you go be smart, drink ALOT of water, take frequent breaks, and bring an extra shirt to change in for sit down dinners. Often the restaurants are very cool and it can be a shock to be hot, sweaty, and tired then walk into the restaurant.

Well the water will help me deal with the crowds becauseeee I find the more hydrated I am in hot or REALLY COLD (as I'm soo used to here) weather, the more tolerable I feel. I'm not as MEAN and nasty when I'm hydrated.

OK, cause the heat & humidity makes everyone (or so it seems) mean and nasty there. You may want to take a break in the middle of the day too because the heat really makes you tired.

I went in August this year and this was my second trip in August. It is very hot and humid. While I was there, we did not have but one evening of rain and it did not last very long, maybe 30 mintues. It was crowded, but not unbearable, in my opinion. The bigger rides/attractions had the longer wait times, but you can always use Fastpass.

The crowds will pick up a bit for Labor Day weekend also. Parks will be a lot more crowded than earlier in your trip, so you may want to schedule no park activites on that weekend.
