I noticed steve kinda hinted that the reason the what will you celebrate stuff was coming down now is possibly due to a new promotion being announced. It was also stated in another thread that Staggs is hosting an event in NYC on Sept 24th where he could be giving us more information regarding the updated Fantasyland plans!

I'll be down in Disney all next week keeping an eye out for anything that could add further fuel to these rumors.

I hope the new celebration is about the 40th anniversary!

I have not been to WDW during an anniversary year since the 10th. It always seemed like something prevented us on those years. For the 30th did they do anything special. I know 25th had the god awful cake castle.

It seems like they are in "celebration" mode every year to drum up excitement and hope that the 40th gets something special and not just a rebranding of the last few celebration promotions...

I know what the new campaign is called, though I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it. Rest assured that it's cheesy and has to do with 'memories'.

Makes sense. What has kept their attendance numbers from dropping like a stone in this economy is the fact that they have always had a strong stranglehold on nostalgia based visitors.

Apparently there's no media or press in Orlando?

Well the Big Apple is more of a media hub than Orlando.

Who would you rather carry your big press release? The Big Three networks along with the AP and other national and international news outlets or... The Orlando Sentinel ? :lookaroun

Liked the cake. It was big, brash, and inventive. Get over it.

I "didn't mind" the cake. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. But I knew it was going away after a short time, unlike some other structures built for special promotions/events and then overstayed their welcome... (I didn't mind the wand in 1999/2000 because I thought it was going away right afterward. Same with the BAH)
