Per Deb Wills facebook "Le Cellier (Canada/Epcot) to require 2 Dining Credits for dinner only - beginning March 1, 2011."

I'll post a Disney conformation as soon as one becomes available. If someone finds official conformation before I do feel free to post it.

Interesting. I wonder if this is a sort of test drive to see if people are willing to fork over 2 credits for the chance to eat there. I would imagine that if the 2 credit dinner is successful it would eventually include lunch. On most of my trips I don't use the DDP so this doesn't matter much to me. I do hope that getting a dinner ADR will be a bit easier now though.

I would agree on all accounts. Simple supply and demand dictates the credit hike.

I do wonder if this will turn people off from the restaurant though. Which in turn could open up ADRs for those not on the DDP.....

Let me tell you where I wont be going, especially for two points. Maybe they can use the hike in points to afford some new cooks

Smart move. Nobody can deny that it was the best $$$ value for dinner on DDP.

Won't lose them a single nickle.

Lunches will be slammed though. Wonder if a lunch menu beef up will change it for all seatings.

I have never been there and we are planning to go this Feb. right before the switch. I was sitting here thinking I was glad we are gonna make it in before the switch when I remembered I am going to do TIW this time so it won't matter. I do imagine people on the DDP will be disappointed. The math never seems to work for me on those 2 credit meals on the DDP.

Agreed. The original rumor said that the sig dining was coming with an upgrade in the beef (and prices). I'm looking forward to hearing if that is so.

I find this place to be very overrated as it is right now. I hope the switch to signature brings a fairly drastic switch to the menu. If they keep it as it is and just raise the credits then I will be very disappointed.

I wonder the same. Don't get me wrong, I love Le Cellier but I definitely wouldn't blow 2 DDP credits on it. In comparison to some of the other restaurants that require 2 points it doesn't even come close. It's no California Grill or Narcoossee's. Frankly, I don't think any restaurant that is located inside a theme park can be considered fine dining. (I'm looking at you Brown Derby... :lookaroun) I don't mind using TiW at Le Cellier though. The discount brings the prices down to what I would expect to pay at a decent steak house at home.

Honestly, I do not see them changing a thing until the guest count drops.

Don't get me wrong, Le Cellier was really great and I had a wonderful meal and fantastic service there, but not sure it would be worth 2 credits. The food is really good, but not unique or really anything that I cant already get in a good restaurant here at home. Does this mean that the prices are going to go up substantially for those that do not use the dinning plan? I suppose it would be a shame if they priced themselves out. :dazzle:

I wonder if this means that they'll raise prices as well? I like Le Cellier, but I don't see it being a signature restaurant. In the past I could see Brown Derby as a signature restaurant, but I think there has been a decline there over the years as well unfortunately. I think that only the resorts really have signature restaurants and possibly Bistro de Paris. As for the rest of the restaurants in the parks, while many are very good, few are truly excellent in regards to both food and service (which to me is what a signature restaurant should be).
