OK, where are the 2011 packages? I've been waiting (not patiently) for them to come out. They are usually out by August 1st....UGHHHHH

2011 packages???

They normally come out the first Sunday in August, which in this year's case, would be today, Sunday August 1st. Last year, they came out on August 2nd, which was the first Sunday in August.
Unfortunately, I'm having to conclude that they apparently aren't going to be out today, as JP Von Drake normally comes on bright and early the 1st Sunday in August, with a long post about the new package rates. Here it is 1:30 in the afternoon (Central Time) and still nothing. So apparently, they are parting with past precedent in this case. But I was planning on calling after I'm done eating, and finding out for sure, just in case JP VonDrake is busy with affairs in the "real world" and just hasn't made it online yet.

By the way, in case you didn't know already, room rates for 2011 have been out for a couple weeks now. I called a little while back and was able to book what is now called a "basic package" for 2011. Previously, you had to book a room only based on current year's rates (which weren't guaranteed for the following year) and pay a one night deposit based on the non-guaranteed rate. Then, when package rates came out in August, you would cancel the room only and re-book as a package under the new rates.
The difference with the "basic package" is that room rates for 2011 are apparently finalized, available to the public and guaranteed and that by booking a basic package vs room only, the room rate is guaranteed and when DDP and ticket prices come out for 2011, you simply call and add those to the package without having to cancel and rebook.

Just called and was told that nothing new is available today. She said they are expecting it around August 15th. Oh well, our trip isn't for another 8 months anyway, so I guess it doesn't really matter whether I get ticket and DDP info today or two weeks from today.

2011 Prices.
I too have been waiting patiently (who am I kidding, I am not patient for WDW pricing). I feel like we are all waiting for a wonderful proclamation. August 1th seems so far away (even though it is not). I have a base pckg. price already, but waiting on tix, DDP and flights. I'm going in April 2011, but would love to lock in a cheap airfare early.
Maybe if I sprinkle some Tinkerbell fairydust the prices will come sooner.(?):sohappy:
