21st Birthday, Engagement and Brazilian Tour Groups Trip Report (July 11-17)

This is my first trip report and I am excited to start it! It may take a while but I will get it done! You can read my pre trip report here http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=557246

Let's get started! We left Saturday morning at 7 after my boyfriend and I got off work at UPS. We drove from Louisville, KY to Lake City, FL to rest for the night.

We did have a nice rental van from Budget; it was a 2010 dodge chrysler with satelite radio and plenty of room for napping.

We arrived in Lake City around 7 pm and decided to eat at the Cracker Barrel right around the corner. We ended up having terrible service, but we did get full. We went back to the hotel and fell asleep pretty fast. I was just excited that tomorrow I would be in Disney!:sohappy:

Sunday July 11
We left the hotel at 10:45 am and drove the rest of the way to All Star Sports. We got there around 1 and sure enough our room was ready! I put my birthday pin on right away and my mom and I was even given 2 roses! Whoo hoo!

(this picture was taken at a different time just wanted to throw it in here now)

(i loved the goofy poster!)

We dropped off our luggage and hopped on a bus for Downtown Disney. We was all pretty hungry so we headed for Earl of Sandwich! Troy and I love that place, I got cannonballs! and I forgot what he got...

We shopped at all the stores basically and I picked up a goofy mug for myself. My mom and Troy bought me some goofy items for my birthday since it was only 3 days away! :]

After we finished our shopping adventure (by the way, I loved the idea of having your purchases delivered to your hotel, I used it everytime I bought something!) we went back to the hotel for a swim.

(thats us in the middle of the pool by goofy)

After we swam we spent sometime in the arcade using our free 100 points and ate supper in the food court. We fell asleep around 10pm looking forward to our first day at the parks tomorrow! And little did I know what Troy had planned for me

Next up: Animal Kingdom/Magic Kingdom/Proposal

There were a zillion Brazilain Tour Groups at the All Star Sports this week...we just got home yesterday (2 hour drive for us lol) and they were everywhere! :) Talked with a lot of the ones I was near and they were Mostly quite nice....and if you are nice and patient you can have a conversation with them as most of the tour members know some english, but if you saw their leader heading to where you are going you had better run or else youll have +100 or more magicly appear in the line ahead of you lol.... After Illuminations on Saturday night we were on the way to the bus to the resort and I saw not one but rather 3 DIFFERENT tour groups from Brazil all straming toward our Allstar sports bus.... I tried to tell my friends that were with me but they thought I was full of crap and they laughed at me like I was an idiot.. a couple of us rushed ahead as fast as we could to the bus. We were able to get onto the 1st bus and were happy to be resting our laurels on seats....our other friends however had a TWO HOUR wait and standing room only ride back to the resort. Needless to say the one friend who did listen to me and accompanied me to the bus was having the last laugh at the others! :) I just smiled...

Sure was hot, but as a Florida resident we all know that is the rules of summer.

Hope you had a great trip!

One question: Are there ANY ugly girls in Brazil? All were quite attractive young and old alike.... :)

Yeah they are nice but very large and annoying. Any ride they would get in line for the que would feel up quickly and you would have to listen to them sing/yell until you get on the ride. There were some who I thought were pretty and I even noticed that some girls who didn't shave their legs. I was so jealous and thought "why do we have to shave?? It's not fair!" lol But we did have a good time.

I thought you were staying at Pop?

We were (and boy did I wish we could) but my mom's boyfriend went to book a room and POP was full so we had to change resorts.

Monday July 12

We wake up around 8 and are on the bus around 8:30, headed for Animal Kingdom. I wanted to get there in time for park opening at 9 but we was a few minutes shy.

(we made those shirts for the trip! There not professional but I loved them! On the back of mine it has a haunted mansion quote and on the back of his, it has a tower of terror quote.)

We did hit the crowd going in but we worked our way around them and headed straight to Everest for fastpasses and a quick ride through stand by since there was little wait. I got a "Happy Birthday" from the CM's there and it pumped me up even more. It was Troy's first time riding and I was super excited for him. He said it was okay in the end :dazzle: and that bummed me out because EE is awesome!

everest.jpg

(yeti is still the same, although, i must admit, it did startle me)

After we rode EE the first time we headed over to Primeval Whirl with little wait. Next up was Dinosaur with no wait (Troy's first time riding that as well) and we had a blast. I love that ride but disliked the loud tour group! You can check out our on ride photo to see how much 'fun' we was all having.

(Me (having a great time) Troy (dazed) Mom (scared to death) Brother (confused)

Next it was time to use our EE fast passes and we got the front seat! The front seat is great, I loved how you could see almost everything from the top of the broken tracks. After EE the second time around we decided it was time to go on our 2 week safari. The wait was around 20 minutes so we just got in the stand-by line. We saw plenty of animals but we had to cut the trip short due to some nasty poachers :[ But still, pretty fun!

poachers.jpg

We was pretty hungry after that and headed to Flame Tree BBQ to use our quick service meal. I got the pulled pork sandwich and has a fun time eating with the ducks and cranes. (those cranes are not afraid to be pushy!) Tough To Be A Bug was up next and we decided to just wait in the line as it was only a 20 min. wait. I took some pictures of the 'movie posters' along the way to pass some time. Every time I see It's Tought to Be A BUg I always lean up when you're about to get stung, I can't stand the thought of it lol.

I wanted to see Festival of the Lion King since I have never seen it before so we went over to Camp Minnie-Mickey to check out the characters to pass some time. Of course Goofy was out so I had to get in line to finally meet him on this trip. It was great and he acknowledged my b-day! We then saw Minnie next but after her the line for Mickey was too long and Daisy's line was closed.

campgoofy.jpg

We headed over to wait in line for Lion King at 2, we was right by the door so when it opened we could get a good seat. We ended up in the warthog section with 3rd row seating, which made me happy! Over all I was happy with it, I liked the singing and all the special talents. I was in awe by the huge floats and how awesome Simba was!

lionking.jpg

We decided to head over to Magic Kingdom after the show since we pretty much did everything we wanted to at AK. But we couldn't leave without a picture in front of the Tree of Life!

I will add the rest of the day later. I'm tired and headed for bed. 3rd shift is a pooper man.
