Who here has seen this neat little event in Chicago during the Holidays? For you people who have no Idea what it is here's an explanation. During the holidays the miriacle mile (Michigan Ave) becomes a spectacle of lights and a parade down into the city. For the past few years Disney World has been helping out in the celebration. It's a interesting way to "Promote" The Disney Resort :animwink: . It's not a big parade really but it's gets it's point around. Mickey's on a float and Starts out the parade with a huge Inflatable Cinderella Castle doing the countdown & Lighting up Michigan Avenue. Second float is an Inflatable Spaceship Earth...That's right you read it correctly which featured Goofy in his space gear. Next was Disney Studio Sorcerer Hat float with Pluto and lastly was AK's Tree Of Life with Safari Donald & Rafiki..After that was a double decker bus with a bunch of other characters...All in all it's intresting to see that Disney was doing something for the city considering Walt lived there when he was younger...Oh on a side note for chicago people if you do go to the McDonald's in Water Tower place shopping center on Michigan Ave you'll notice a neat drawing of Disney in the seating area...

Sounds interesting. And, a little off topic, but does your avatar mean that you will be dressing up as Trunks and Link for MNSSHP??

I have... and its a logistical nightmare  My office used to be right at Michigan Ave & Ohio St. It was great for viewing the parade. These days I dont even bother going downtown for it (too many people [tourists that know nothing and are rude, & suburban folks that should of really stayed home] its just madness)... I just watch it on WGN... or catch the replay on CLTV.

Aaahhh, a jaded cityperson!! Something you do once in your life and then run for the hills every other year to escape the insane crowds. Case in point, the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in NYC.

Having been in Chicago back in May, I couldn't even imagine the craziness of being on the Mile during that parade. It was crazy enough when there was nothing happening on the Mile. (We stayed down at the Hilton Chicago and we awakened at 6:30am by the music from when they had the Breast Cancer walk)
