Itty-Bitty Update

The big sign between Energy and wonders which used to point you to Energy and had the moving dinosaur is gone. Just nubby metal things in the ground where it once was.

The Wonders area reeks of paint. The DNA tower is indeed being painted, very carefully at that.

New characters in World Showcase. Pinnochio is now in Italy and Simba et al can be found at the Outpost, making Mexico the only area without characters.

El Pirata is open for the next few Fri and Sat's. 11am-4pm.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this - but during Star Wars weekends Mickey Ave will be the "Imperial Sector" and Star Tours will be the "Rebel Base" themed areas. The Backlot Express will have the "Hasbro Zone" with all sorts of nifty toys to try out and there will be a stage near Star Tours for a show called the Star Wars Weekends Hyperspace Hoopla - nightly at 7pm.

Sorcery in the Sky will be presented at MGM at 9pm on July 4th followed by a 10pm Fantasmic.

Boo-Tiki at the Polynesian opens May 18.

New thingy:

Harry Ramsden Fish and Chips will be open for the EMH at Epcot this week and the Rose and Crown will seat until 10pm.

This is in addition to the usual Electric Umbrella, Sunshine Seasons, Cantina de San Angel serving until close, and San Angel Inn seating until 10pm.

I think it should be illegal to post about Epcot food for those of us more than 500 miles away!

Just kidding. Great news for people there (although ANY quick service in WS is worth it!). But, I am still really hungry now!

Needs to be a minor correction, it's actually "characters from the Lion King" which as you pointed out probably isn't Simba

......just be happy you're ONLY 500 miles away from EPCOT. You could be stuck in rainy central Indiana thinking of those wonderful, tasty morsels!!

Well I am certainly glad that on our last trip we took a picture of my DH right next to the cut out. CC is definately one of hubby's favorites. Oh well, time marches on.

Trust me. I feel your pain. This is the first time (except for my 7 months @ WDW as a CPer) that I HAVEN'T been in cold, rainy northern or central IN. Born and raised in South Bend and went to school at DePauw. So I COMPLETELY understand. Bit of advice, MOVE QUICKLY!!!!! :lol:

I've been stuck here since I was born. And today, to top it all off, I spent 7 hours standing in the rain at the Speedway (the REAL Indy Speedway) directing traffic in Gasoline Alley - yuck! The smells of greasy track food just reminded me of WDW for some reason....

I assume removing the Energy sign is Disney's first effort to "de-promote" this attraction so a high speed thrill ride can be put in its place?
