Screamscape post the following about Downtown Disney:

Remember that rumor about an Aquarium Restaurant coming to Downtown Disney that was eyeballing the old Virgin Megastore? The latest update to the rumor claims that they are actually more interested in building a new structure in the old Pleasure Island area that would involve the demolition of one of the old nightclub buildings. It seems they may be looking at a couple of possible locations however, though the Mannequins site is said to be one of them.

I have been to one in TN and really found it great.

I know restaurants aren't very popular with us, but you can look at this way...the hundreds of people who are going to eat at this restaturant at night are hundreds of people who will leave the better dining establishments alone.

If Kona or Sanaa is quieter because more of the screaming kids are at DTD, I'll take it.

Eh, we've been to the Kemah location of 'The Aquarium' and it really wasn't very good. Granted, this could be because I don't eat seafood so the dish I ate wasn't exactly their 'specialty'. ((I always warn my boys that they shouldn't go to a steakhouse, order Chinese chicken, and expect it to be good. It's a steakhouse. Eat steak.)) I don't recall the hubby being all that impressed, tho. In fact, we've been back to Kemah many times since but haven't returned to The Aquarium. But if it makes more room at the good restaurants, I think it's just ducky. :animwink:

The way I look at this is that yes it is another Landry's, but if it brings in bucks to Disney, maybe some of that will be spent on things I do like. I eat at T-Rex in December and will never go to it again. Food was okay, but I could not talk with anyone in my party because the noise level was off the scale.

Maybe they should open a 'Meat Loaf and Green Bean Casserole' resturant.
The masses would be all over that.

Agreed. If everyone had the same taste in dining as me, I would never be able to get a table anywhere.

These type restaruants serve their purpose. They are tourist destinations. They are what people think they will be eating at when they come from wherever they come from. They are bigger than life and not something most folks have access to. They are also safe foods that appeal to the unadventorous.

Which is good. I would rather them go there then get mad at Sanaa and have that menu dumb down.

If we can't bring the guest taste up to an acceptable level, then we should at least build a pen big enough to hold them all. Just so happens that pen is called Landry's! :p
