Help me with my Fastpass plan

Okay. Can someone please help by giving me all the fastpass rides for each park in the order that i should get them?

I know at Epcot, Test Track is first thing in the morning, followed by Mission:Space. Then what.

How about at Magic Kingdom. I was thinking Splash Mountain first followed by Thunder Mountain Railroad. Space Mountain last, only cuz I want to ride that one at nighttime anyway. Magic Kingdom has the most Fastpass rides.

What about MGM. I was thinking either Tower Of Terror or Rockin' Rollercoaster first. Which do you recommend? Than what?

Animal Kingdom is easy. Dinosaur first. Which one next?

I just want to make sure I go after the most popular rides with the longest lines first. And if they allow it, i'll be trying to get more than one Fastpass at a time. How often does that happen, anyone know?

As far as i know you can't get 2 fastpasses at the same time unless it is 2 hours after you got the first one. The only rides that I've heard will give you a Fastpass at the same time are the HM (although those fastpass machines are closed I believe) and I think the Jungle Cruise.

However, I just read on Allears that :

It used to be that you could not hold more than one FP at a time, but, again, depending on crowds and the individual attraction sometimes you may find that you can obtain more than one FP at a time.

but if I were you, I'd bank on being able to only get one fastpass at a time.

I would highly recommend that you get to the parks at least ½ hour before they open. Each park has an opening ceremony that you will want to see.

Providing you get to EPCOT before it opens you probably wont need a fast pass for either TT or MS but if you want to do them again later you will need to get one.

MK is really unpredictable. You will probably want to hit Fantasy land first because it fills up quick then FP Space Mountain and wait in queue at Buzz and or SGE. Depending on crowd size you will probably need to FP both BTM and SM

At MGM if you make a bee line for RnR and ToT at park opening you should be able to do both without a FP. Typically RnR is the longer of the two lines.

At AK head immediately for the safari. Don’t stop to look at the static displays or anything. You will avoid needing a FP and the animals are much more active in the morning especially when it is hot in the afternoons.

One thing that is nice about FP if you have past your time they will still let you use it. So if you have a fast pass for between 1:00 and 2:00 and you show up at 2:30 they will still let in the FP line. Also you can only get 1 fast pass about every 45 minuets to an hour (it will be printed on your FP). This prevents people from getting a FP for every ride in the park all at

That would be correct for Epcot. After Mission:Space get one for Soarin' if it is open yet. You really don't need a fastpass for anything else in Epcot.

If you open the park you can get on the mountains without having to wait too long. If not get Splash Mountain first followed by Thunder Mountain. As soon as you finish Thunder Mountain go get one for Space Mountain because those run out fast. If there is time try getting a fastpass for Buzz Lightyear (though stand by usually moves quick not matter what the wait time) or Tomorrowland Indy Speedway if the fastpasses have been moved from the Haunted Mansion yet.

As far as MGM, definetly RNRC first...the wait tor TOT is not usually as bad and you can usually go through the line pretty quickly compared to RNRC.

With AK I don't know if Dinosaur first is so wise. Possibly Kilimanjaro Safaris or Kali River Rapids first. But definitely get all three throughout the day unless you get there early in the morning. If thats the case get the fastpass for Dinosaur and go ride the safari.

You usually can't get more than one at a time. But sometimes if you are lucky you might catch a glitch in their computer system and be able to get more than one.

Actually, at AK Safari should be your first. Dinosaur often doesn't open until an hour after opening anyway. I've found it best to :

1. To to Safari, ride
2. Grab Fastpass on the way out of Safari (at 9:30ish when I get one they usually are for 10:30 or later) to ride again
3. Ride Dinosaur
4. Return to Safari, ride again with FP

It's a fair amount of walking to start off the day, but you've got two major attractions down, including twice on the safari (since it's different every time).

As to MGM, typically RnR is the one I go for a FP on over ToT. I never have waited the stated time on ToT, and the queue is 100 times more interesting over at ToT than at RnR. So even if I have to wait, it's in a much neater enviornment. RnR is pretty bland until you get to the loading area.

If you get to the magic kingdom when it opens you can get on splash mountain, thunder mountain, pirates, haunted mansion with little wait. You will probably be able to ride splash & thunder twice if you want, we always did. Then head over to space mountain and pull a fast pass and do whatever else until your time. Every year we love to plan what we are going to do, and when we get there it always seems to change.

EPCOT: 1st... Get an FP for TT and stand in line for M:S

MGM: 1st get an FP for R'nR stand in line for TOT

AK: 1st. get an FP for Safari, stand in line for KRR... (depending on the weather) if the weather is bad, stand in line for ITTBB...

MK: If you like PP get your 1st FP there... and stand in line for anything else
Or het your 1st FP for MPhil... Depending on the day of the week...
Usually Fantasyland is packed... :)

Thought I'd throw this in as well........IF you like Little Mermaid, then while you are at MGM get a FP. Standby for this show is awful.

Also, standby times at MK for Peter Pan & Adventures of Pooh can become ridiculous!!! If you have any desire to ride those, I would suggest getting a FP OR going to Fantasyland first.

Have fun!

I would suggest that your needs for FP depends entirely on what time of the year you're visiting the parks - Easter, Summer and Christmas the use of FP will be more useful (and necessary) over quieter times.

Have you bought the Unofficial Guide to WDW yet? It has touring plans that tell the most efficient order to do the attractions including when to get Fastpasses.

I just wanted to warn you about something. In 2002 and 2003 I did what you are doing and planned my trips down to the minute. Both times it made my trips miserable. For example, I'd have us scheduled to wake up at a certain time and do this and do that, but then that day came and we didn't feel like waking up so early so we slept in a little and then I was stressing the rest of the day because we were so "late" for everything. In 2005 we went and didn't have any sort of itinerary at all and just went to whatever attractions we wanted to whenever we felt like it and it was SO enjoyable and completely stress free, and we saw just as much doing that as we see when we have a strict schedule to follow.

So just be careful. What you might be doing now is getting every last details planned out perfectly so you have this incredible vision in your head of this perfect vacation, but you have to understand that if you force yourself to stick to your plan it's just not going to be very fun. What seems awesome on paper is not necessarily all that fun in real life.

I love planning every minute detail of my Disney vacations, but I've learned now that it's ok to do all that planning because its fun to plan, but just use the end result as a guideline, don't follow it like a schedule - give yourself a ton of freedom and flexibility so that you can do things that you FEEL like doing WHEN you feel like doing them, not just doing things because they are written on paper. You'll have a good time if you let yourself relax. :)

Considering you're under 2 weeks, it might be a little late to start with the 800-page Unofficial Guide  , though I LOVE this book.

I agree totally with Laura22, it's so much fun to plan, but once you're there, your itinerary should be more of a guideline. I try to stay flexible to keep my personal stress level low, and use my itinerary as more of a checklist, to make sure I see everything I want, than a strict schedule.

One thing I'm finding this time around, I do plan on sticking to the showtimes I've picked. Because Spectro, Wishes, and Fantasmic times and availability vary, changing these last minute could cause problems.

Have a ball - we're there the same week!

Laura, what you said is right on the money. I think by having the day too planned out is just way too stressful and then you don't even enjoy the parks, because you're too worried about following your schedule. Just relax and know that you can't do everything on one trip, even though you want to.
