In 2015, Disneyland will be celebrating its 60th anniversary and since the 50th anniversary was so big, it needs to be as popular and inspiring as that celebration. In this thread, we shall be jotting down ideas to kick off the party such as new attractions and entertainment for both parks (we can use clones if y'all want but I think it'll be interesting by coming up with new ideas maybe some not influenced by movies, think Expedition Everest), we should also come up with a brand new parade and fireworks show for Disneyland. With those ideas, laid out feel free to brainstorm and maybe this will be even bigger than the 50th!

Well first of all I'd like to give the Haunted Mansion a big refurbishment for the 60th anniversary of the park. I'll post the changes I have made a bit later.

Basically for the celebration itself I am very, well not sure of...the cool thing about the 50th was they did so much! They had all those collages everywhere, they had all the hidden golden Mickeys, they had pretty much the greatest firework show in Disneyland history and one of the best parades as well. They also had lots of other cool things like the big makeover for Space Mountain, Constance in the Haunted Mansion, the Block Party Bash, and a bunch of other stuff. They had some pretty cool commercials for the event as well.

I actually really don't know what to do for the 60th, we'd obviously have to top the 50th somehow. I just can't wait to see the 100th anniversary of the park, now THAT will be big! :)

The Haunted Mansion could get an overhaul. I'd like to see your ideas.

Another thing that needs to happen is for Mickey's Toontown to be drastically overhauled and given more adult-friendly stuff to do there. It's the source of its own thread: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=487497.

Maybe we could do something like what was originally planned way back when for Disneyland's 50th, when they originally wanted to overhaul five attractions. Go here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/archive/update39.htm) and then go down to where it says, "Disneyland's 50th - a possible timeline". Maybe we could add ideas from there.

In any case, two things that should happen for Disneyland's 60th are an overhaul of the Haunted Mansion and an updated Mickey's Toontown.

Idea

Dang it I had a whole post worked out and it got deleted by my stupid backspace bar. :brick:

Oh well I'll just make a shorter summary of what I wrote before.

Yes some of those ideas the Imagineers wanted to use were great! I'll give giving the Jungle Cruise a makeover a shot. I'll start coming up with some ideas to make the attraction more exciting than it was when it first opened back in 1955! Yes it was actually pretty exciting back then, they had charging elephants and a gruesome lion feast on the African Veldt. They also had some charging alligators in a long since past Everglades scene. Maybe it's time to revive a murky swamp filled with angry alligators. Heck maybe I'll have to re-route the river to make some cool changes to the aging attraction. By all means I love the one that's there now though. :p

Well one thing I'd like to do is just generally spruce up around the resort. You know one thing I have in mind is to make Downtown Disney more appealing to visitors by having it not just look like an ordinary outdoor strip mall with a few big name brands but actually having it look like something even better than a mall. Also I think it'd be cool if we made the Paradise Pier Hotel look all Victorian like the upcoming additions and makeovers of the general Paradise Pier area.

Actually one thing I've always wanted to do is make the Disneyland Resort more like the Tokyo Disneyland Resort. What I'm trying to say is there resort is the only thing that remains of Walt's original standard of perfection. There's no trash to be found, all of the rides are operating with everything working, the cast members are extremely friendly, and everything just looks really nice. There is also a certain quality to Disneyland to me that just isn't there anymore. See when I was little when I'd ride things like Pirates, I would leave the ride and swear I just saw Captain Hook and Mr. Smee in there even if they really weren't. When I'd ride the Jungle Cruise I'd feel as if I was being watched by Bagheera or about to be entertained by Baloo as he danced around with Mowgli and King Louie with his band of crazy monkeys. But now Disney just pushes Disney characters onto you like crazy. The second you leave Pirates now you're forced into a gift shop filled with movie merchandise! One thing I'd like to do is lower the presence of Disney characters in the parks and bring back area-themed items to gift shops like shrunken heads in the Adventureland Bazaar and Song of the South souveniers in the Briar Patch.

Maybe we can even restore Disneyland back to having its original mystic and magical feeling that it had many years ago.

So here is my idea on what we could do to suck visitors into the parks like a massive vacuum cleaner.

"Disneyland: 60 Years of Magic"

I'm not going to include all of the refurbishments, expansions, and retools just the special offerings for the event/promotion.

- In honor of Disneyland's birthday, guests will get in free on their birthday as well! They will have to register and show their birth certificate of course.

- Random guests will be given unexpected "presents" in honor of the promotion/celebration, such as free front of the line FastPasses, one night stays in the Disneyland Dream Suite, awesome front row seats for World of Color and Fantasmic, chances to go on after hour tours of certain attractions (Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror anyone?), and a bunch of other cool rewards. Possibly even free season passes for some cases.

- A TV special will be aired telling the story of the Disneyland Resort and how it came to be where it is today.

That's about all I got for right now. Eh, I don't know about it, what do you guys think?

Oh also here are some ideas for the Jungle Cruise I thought of while typing this.

- Make the jungle much more dense and mysterious. Possibly even have some fog rolling through the foliage here and there.

- Improve the attraction's sound system to make it seem as if there is wildlife on all sides of the boat.

- Fix up, replace, and possibly remove some of the animatronics. Modern technology can make them appear much more realistic than they do now. Take a look at the condensed Elephant Bathing Pool at Hong Kong Disneyland. The elephant in the shower's trunk goes wild! I swear that thing is going in knots.

- Make the head hunters seem more menacing, possibly give them "Death" and "War" masks authentic to the primitive tribes of long-since forgotten jungles of the world. I would really like to make their war party attack much more realistic, meaning splashes would be added to the water, cannibals would be on both sides of the boat, and smoke effects would be added to make it seem as if spears are being thrown into the water with appropriate sound effects and splashes.

- And of course make a swamp full of alligators or crocodiles, one of the two.

So what do you all think, I have more coming, just you wait and see!

:ROFLOL:

Sorry I just really love the smiley options on this site!

One thing that could be done in the Haunted Mansion is to do the Ghost Host's dialog in the stretching room like how it is in Florida: where the voice just goes all over the room continuously, rather than jump from one side of the room to the next.

And also, the dialog for the Conservatory and Seance Room would also be restored. The last few times I went on the ride, there was a curious lack of dialog on the Ghost Host's part between the part about the hot and cold running chills and the Host saying that the spirits are beginning to materialize (as you leave the Seance Room and enter the Ballroom).

And maybe the load area of the ride will now be altered to have numerous stairways in the background. They would all be Escher-type stairs that lead nowhere. I think this scene is in Florida now as well.

Haunted Mansion Refurbishment

- The queue will be returned to its original splendor under Walt's rule of letting the ghosts take care of the inside and letting us take care of the outside. This means that all the overgrown plantlife that's there now will be trimmed or removed, all of the trees surrounding the perimeter of the mansion will be trimmed as not to obstruct the view of passing guests, all of the lawns will be mowed and brightned to perfection, both the mansion and the phantom hearse outside will be given a new coat of fresh white paint (It's a somewhat dark shade of white, kind of like french vanilla ice cream only brighter), all of the walkways and paths will be re-paved and painted a shade of grey to match the colors of the newly-repainted mansion. All of the lampposts which have been missing from the queue for some time now will be returned to their original spots and provide warmth and light for guests wishing to tour the mansion at night. Spherical bunches of bright orange and yellow daisies will be placed around the base of each post, just like they were when the mansion opened back in 1969. All of the gravestones in the pet cemetary will be given actual carved-in epitaphs (Not just painted stickers or whatever the heck they are) and given a new color to blend with their surroundings better. The monkey grave only present during Haunted Mansion Holiday will now be a permanent resident of the cemetary. All of the poles in the winding part of the queue will be repainted and removed of all scratches, chips, and chunks of gum, along with all the surrounding gates and brick structures located throughout other portions of the queue. All the windows will be removed of any blemishes (Or all together replaced) while the shutters (Or shudders I'm not sure how you spell it) will be repainted or again replaced. All of the windows and doors which cannot be reached by guests will receive the same treatment. The telescope looking out towards the Rivers of America will return to its original spot a top the mansion's second story balcony while all of the furniture and other decorations already up there will be replaced by newer versions of their former selves.

- An anteblum gazebo will be added to the hill normally occupied by jack-o-lanterns during Haunted Mansion Holiday. Several new decorations such as a loveseat and table hosting two wine glasses and a wine bottle will be added to go along with the new scene.

- An invisible ghost will now sit on the second story porch at night in a rocking chair, listening to the music of a nearby music box: YouTube - Phantom Manor Music Box to create an unsettling/nervous mood. Every now and then the music box will stop with a clunk, the ghost will get up, walk over to it (With matching footsteps) and turn it back on before sitting down again.

- I forgot to mention this earlier but not all of the lampposts will be entangled in daisies. Some of them will be entangled in golden poppies while others will poke out from inside well-cut hedges and bushes. Also several little trees will be planted throughout appropriate portions of the queue. The really large tree in the pet cemetary now will be cut out a replaced by a very-well groomed pepper tree.

- The lights in the windows next to the mansion's "front door" will glow again as they did many years ago. Most notably seen in this Disney sing along song. You can catch a glimpse of it as the villains run between the pillars: YouTube - Disney Villains 'Grim Grinning Ghosts'

- All of Paul Frees' narration has been taken and digitally remastered, giving the original vocal track a rather eerie sound as if he is actually talking to us from another dimension.

- New speakers have also been implemented into the foyer, making it seem as if the Ghost Host is on your shoulder, above your head, far away in another corner, or crawling around on the ceiling. You really feel as if he is moving around the room unseen.

- The Stretching Room has been completely remastered, both look-wise and sound-wise. As of right now there are only seven speakers in there. Now there are a total of seventy. A good portion of them are hidden in new demonic grillwork installed around the perimter of the floor. For an example of this new grillwork please refer to the concept art on page fifty four of your Haunted Mansion from the Magic Kingdom to the Movies book by Jason Surrel. If you don't have one you should easily be able to pick up the concept pretty easily.

Like the foyer, the Ghost Host now floats around the room with his new crystal clear audio, hopping from shoulder to shoulder, wall to wall, and head to head. Again it sounds as if he is walking (Or flying) around the room unseen.

- Thanks to all the new speakers in the stretching room the walls now make a horrible creaking sound when they "stretch." It seems as if you can actually hear the ancient wood behind the walls creaking and moaning as they move in their supernatural haze.

- The old thunder and lightning effect remains, however it too has been digitally remastered and plussed, becoming ten times louder and ten times more realistic than before. Several bats have joined the Ghost Host's corpse up in the cupola as well, screeching and fluttering away in a frenzied panic. Thanks to the new sound system it sounds as if they have flown down into the gallery with us in hopes of finding their own way out.

- The Ghost Host's corpse has been redressed in a dazzling new wardrobe complextion while his rotting body is now lit up by blue lights hidden in the surrounding walls. This new lighting system is meant to get the attention of the dazzled crowd below. The rope holding up our host's corpse can be heard snapping as his horrid scream falls down from the ceiling, right behind us, and to the floor, accompanied by an even louder crash than before. The sound effect is so loud it makes the walls and floor vibrate a little as if he actually just hit the floor.

- An ethereal wind fills the room whenever our Ghost Host speaks. Even then as we first enter the stretching room and even after the Ghost Host has spoken it sounds as if there is a silent wind running through the room and materializing around the portraits.

- After the corpse has fallen and we've reached the same level as the portrait corridor we here the whole "Stay together" spiel. The doors open as usual, only there's a new twist just as they slowly open up. The gargoyles slowly move their heads and whisper "Stay together..." as we leave, childishly laughing and giggling as we exit their lair.

- Other new features have been added to the stretching room. First off the whole room has been given new wallpaper, just like the kind seen in Tokyo's stretching room: YouTube - Haunted Mansion (Tokyo Disneyland) Pt. 1 The four portraits have been lit up even brighter, thanks to some new lights hidden above them. It won't be as if they were in spotlights though, it'd be as if they were just naturally blending in with the light. The portraits themselves have been replaced by new and much more beautiful versions of themselves, still retaining their creepy old selves.

- Like in Tokyo the lights almost immediately fade out in the stretching room as the Ghost Host says: "Of course...there's always...my way..."

- The Portrait Corridor has also been suited with the new sound system (Along with the load area), making good old Paul sound as if he his floating around the room once again.

- All the paintings have been remastered (Or replaced by new versions of their old self) to become even more eerie and mysterious than before. Like they do in the current version of the mansion they change into some ghastly image whenever the lightning flashes on the other side of the hall, which reminds me...The ghostly windows across from the portraits have been replaced by new window panes and now overlook a much more sinister environment than before; a very ominous swamp-like atmosphere similar to the blue bayou. Every now and then in a flash of lightning you can see the shadow of a restless spirit out in the bayou, its even larger shadow briefly project onto the adjacent wall. The windows now harbor a rain-like effect as well, similar to the Tiki Room with a few subtractions from it to make it seem more realistic.

- The Medusa painting will resemble Marc Davis' original painting more, simply because it looks a lot better than the one that's there now.

- The busts at the end of the hallway are now pale blue in color.

- The load area is now a half-house half-outdoors room, a sort of border between our world and the next if you will (Page sixty one of your Haunted Mansion book). The ceiling and walls become transparent and wirey before fading into the crisp night sky. The carpet beneath morphs into a cobblestone path as a small graveyard appears alongside the trail and across the doombuggy track to a lesser extent. The endless void remains, only it is now time times more effective and the floor beneath it has been slanted to keep any trash thrown in by a naughty guest out and away. The ceiling has been hidden by a foggy scrim, while all the normally visible walls are hidden by darkness or a new prop of some kind. The bat stanchions along the trail have been repainted a much brighter gold in color.

- Various screams and other ghastly sounds now fill the load area, made possible through several new speakers placed randomly throughout the place with each one set at a different volume level. A good portion of these screams come from the Corridor of Doors while others come from the old attic, new sounds recorded by Disney, and clips from "Chilling Thrilling Sounds from a Haunted House" which was a record and casette tape released by Disney many years ago. The screams come from all points of the room (Similar to the Ghost Host) and can really get the attention of an unsuspecting guest. One gag I hope will work out is having guests board and the doombuggy and suddenly be taken in by a scream coming out from the void or back towards the portrait corridor. Suddenly the bar would float down and touch them unexpectedly, causing quite a fright and laugh for those smart enough to pay no attention to the ethereal moans and shrieks dancing in the distance.

- The Spanish narration by the Ghost Host has been removed, and Paul Frees' original lines about not pulling down the safety bar have been reinstalled.

- The griffin statues towards the entrance of the grand staircase have been polished up and made to look as if they have always been there and are perfectly normal statues. However, as you pass them by their eyes light up and follow you, just as the Sinister Eleven portraits do at Tokyo and Disney World.

- The area normally occupied by Scary Teddy and the Christmas presents during Haunted Mansion Holiday is now pitch black and filled with even more screams, shrieks, and moans. Each scream comes from a different direction, making it seem as if you're being watched by some nasty beasts.

- All of the doombuggies have received rPod technology (Ride Pod) which was just recently given to the doombuggies of the Florida mansion in their big refurbishment back in 2007 (My how time flies). This new sound system rids of any static you might hear and delivers a crystal clear audio rendition of everything you need to hear on board. rPod is also at a decent volume level to make sure that you can't hear the Ghost Host's narration in the buggy next to you, which is a frequent problem every now and then, especially in the Seance Circle and Endless Hallway.

rPod also makes it sound as if the Ghost Host is actually materializing in the interior of your doombuggy, making the whole experience even creepier than before.

- Every doombuggy has received a fresh coat of paint and been slowed down a reasonable amount of speed. This has been done so the ride will make less stops throughout its journey and allow guests to take in as much as they can.

- The candelabra in the endless hallway is now much more fluid in its movements while a new scrim has been added along with the mirror behind the candel being polished up for that extra shine. The lighting has also been fixed up here as well to make the chamber seem more ominous and foreboding. The hot and cold running chills effect is back in action as well. If you don't know what I'm talking about on the Ghost Host's line about hot and cold running chills you would feel a really hot wind followed by a really cold wind right afterwards. Well that's back and running once more. Also when you look down the hallway you might here a terrible shriek (The Kurt Russel and the Osmonds special where they visited the Haunted Mansion you could hear a cat screeching on the other side).

- The Conservatory has been pretty much left untouched, save for more color in the dead flowers, a new paint job for the coffin, and a new green light bulb has been screwed in to brighten up the after life of its trapped occupant.

- Like almost every other portion of the ride the Corridor of Doors has been given a new sound system. Only this sound system trails throughout a vast majority of the hallway. It now seems as if all the unseen ghouls haunting the corridor are actually following your doombuggy as you go, getting closer and closer until you turn into the seance circle and escape. The sound is of a very crisp and clear quality like never before.

- New black and white family photos have been added to the corridor along with a revivsed hatchet man painting which now resembles the one seen in my current avatar. Yes it has the following eyes like its Sinister Eleven counterpart. Those weird face plaque things in the corridor now will be replaced by new portraits while several family portraits only seen in the Florida version of the ride will now find a home here. The long-lost family portrait hand-drawn by a cast member will most likely be hung alongside the hatchet man or across the way from the conservatory.

This guy will also finally get his own family portrait:

avatar13261_8.gif

Along with several of the ghouls seen on the bottom of this page of the Long Forgotten Haunted Mansion Effect. Mainly the first, fifth, and tenth will be added since the rest are already there or are going to be implemented. The portraits seen in post number 860 will be added as well.

http://micechat.com/forums/disneyland-resort/125031-long-forgotten-haunted-mansion-effect-part-6-prequel-time-unrelenting-58.html

- Gone from the corridor is the continous clacking noise. Instead the corridor is filled with a horrible roaring sound as if a huge beast is jumping up and down on a bed upstairs. All the doors are now much more active than before, many of them doing things never even heard of before. For example, one door now has a face and a set of hands that push themselves out towards your doombuggy, the breathing door is now much more visible, one door almost bends itself completely out of place, and another door has been given an eerie green light behind it with a pair of skeleton hands vigorously attempting to pry it open as the creature behind growls.

- The now repainted grandfather clock remains while it has been joined by the eerie demon wallpaper seen in the corridor of doors. There's a twist here however, as we make our way by the eyes of the wallpaper light up an eerie green in color, just like they do at Phantom Manor. The gonging of the clock is now heard only in the Clock Hall, even though it is much louder than it is now.

- The corridor of doors has also been given new lighting. Now the lights flicker as we pass growing very bright, then very dim, then a regular warmth, then dim again. Some of the cobweb-adorned chandeliers now sing around as well.

- The entire seance circle will be given a new effect. No longer will the room just be black with blank walls. It has now become a kind of "Nowhere Room" which is just surrounded by rolling clouds and stars which change colors in time with the sooth (Seance). Every now and then a grim grinning ghost will appear for a brief second before quickly fading out.

- Leota will float around the room once again, along with the table beneath her and the chair which serves as a perch for the raven. The wires making Leota fly will be much better hidden than before.

- Leota's spellbook will now be lit by a bright spotlight.

- Leota's ball will be polished up while Leota herself will now be projected from the inside to make her seem more realistic and eerie. She also won't just float around in one spot, she'll float around many different parts of the room.

- A voodoo doll will be placed on Leota's table along with a fortune-telling card baring the face of Dr. Facilier upon it along with several of his "friends from the other side."

- All of the floating musical instruments and furniture in the seance have been repainted, replaced, or simply refurbished to glow in the new and eerie darkness of the room. The wires holding them up are now hidden as well while their shadows are much less visible than before.

- The glass in the Grand Hall has been cleaned with a new material so the maitenance crews won't have so much trouble cleaning it up at night.

- All of the ghosts will be given new costumes and wigs to make them seem more "lively" while the lights used to make the Pepper's Ghost Effect now have been replaced. Each ghost now has their own individual spotlight to make them pop out more to guests as they pass by on the balcony.

"As the sounds of the ghostly party slowly fade into the distance, the Doom Buggies carry guests into the heart of any good haunted house: the Attic - a musty, dusty realm filled to overflowing with hundreds of family heirlooms, knickknacks, and curious, in addition to several assorted ghosts, ghouls, and goblins whom have taken residence in the attic in hopes of terrorizing guests and telling them the stories of their bloody pasts. An eerie heartbeat fills the attic, along with a demented harpischord version of the "Wedding March" getting louder and louder as we proceed through the rotting rafters of the attic.

Slowly moving into the attic we stare at a collection of junk surrounding a wedding portrait between a young man and woman. Lit by an eerie purple light several pieces of junk obviously belonging to the couple surround the portrait supposably telling the young couple's story. A couple of these artifacts include a black and white photo of Big Thunder Mountain and several miners standing outside a parked mine train, making it known that this young man might have worked for the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Company at some point in his lifetime. Several mining tools can also be found throughout the area. A painting of a beautiful woman (Marc's famous April/December portrait) also finds a home here, a name printed across the top: "Constance." An opened hatbox lies in the middle of the floor. Suddenly one can hear the nearby slice of a hatchet. The groom's head disappears from the portrait before reappearing again. Suddenly a ghastly disembodied head wearing the exact same hat as the man in the portrait leaps from the opened hatbox shrieking with fright before going back down again.

Another wedding portrait appears up ahead between a different man and that same woman as before. Another opened hatbox rests nearby while several artifacts labeled the "Mark Twain Trading Company" lie nearby. A scale model of the Mark Twain Riverboat rests on a nearby crate (Presumably filled with tea as evident by a nearby teapot resembling Mrs. Potts and tea cup resembling Chip). The slice of the hatchet can be heard once again, making the groom's head disappear before reappearing again. Shortly afterwards yet another gruesome disembodied head wearing the same exact hat as the pictured groom jumps out of the hatbox with a scream before going back down again.

Nearby yet another wedding portrait appears, this time between the same girl as before and a much fatter man. Again the man's head disappears and reappears, shortly followed by a disembodied head wearing the same exact hat which jumps out of a nearby hatbox. This time a dusty-old harpischord appears in the light of a flickering gas lantern (The sister to this lantern can be seen in the queue of the Jungle Cruise) the shadow of a phantom pianist pounding away at its keys playing the "Wedding March" in a melancholy manner. Several artifacts relating to the Jungle Cruise lie about the place, including the trophy head of a water buffalo, (From an actual water buffalo animatronic from the ride) a tiger skin rug, a model globe, and several guns and other hunting gear. The chair the man sits upon in the portrait is also located here. Across the way on the other side of the attic is another wedding portrait where the groom's head disappears and a similar disembodied head leaps out from a hatbox. Back on the other side we see the ghost of the bride seen in these pictures herself, standing next to a moldy wedding cake (The groom cake topper on top is missing his head) and a grand wedding portrait depicting Constance and her fifth and final husband George. As usual the groom's head disappears, but there is no hatbox to accompany him this time, only artifacts relating to a grand wedding between he and his bride. Constance herself sits towards the exit of the attic, her ghostly dress billowing in the wind. Constance is now a full-out audio animatronic figure, baring a rusted hatchet in her hands, which shines in the dim light of the room. Constance's gruesome face resembles that of a skull, with only a few scraps of flesh here and there remaining. Her eyes glow orangish-yellow as her tiny black pupils stare us down as she emits several witty wedding-related phrases every fifteen seconds or so. The same portrait of her that appeared at the beginning of the attic (April/December) appears here as well, only now she is an aged hag with a hatchet in her hand, rather than a flower as she was holding in the original portrait.

Across the way on the other side of the attic is the ghost of George. A skeletal figure wearing an immense collared cape, a fancy top hat, and clutching a wooden cane in one hand with a large hatbox in the other. The ghost's (Hatbox Ghost if you haven't figured it out) cane shakes wildly as his ghastly, skeletal grin vanishes with the slice of the hatchet. As a matter of fact his entire head disappears, leaving his top hat suspended in the air. Suddenly his head reappears within the hatbox he holds, soon after reappearing back on his shoulders."

- The Graveyard has been given a new sound system as well, speakers featured in now almost every point of the area. A professional choir has recorded a cover of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" which is only heard as you exit the attic and fall backwards down the hill. The jazzy background music is also a lot louder now, mainly the tamborine portion. I don't know why I just think it makes the place more "zany."

- The ceiling is now unable to be seen by guests as it has been painted over and scraped of all the glow in the dark star stickers placed upon it. Instead it has been replaced by the night sky effect seen in the Blue Bayou of Pirates of the Caribbean, complete with the rolling clouds and seldom stars. No air conditioning vents or work lights are visible anymore.

- All of the animatronics have been gutted and rebuilt with new, much more advanced features. This will not only make them have more advanced movements, but it will make them look like actual ghosts. Every ghost now glows a dark shade of violet (Purple), just like the ghosts in the Haunted Mansion at Tokyo Disneyland.

- The scrim keeping riders and ghosts apart has been removed as it doesn't really work in supposed to be looking like fog. It is also full of holes and other unneccessary blemishes, so it has been given the boot.

- Vincent Price's trademark laugh heard in Phantom Manor can now be heard in the background of the king and queen scene.

- The Phantom Five are now in high definition and projected from the inside, just like Madame Leota.

- Speakers have been placed in front of all the graveyard ghosts, to make it seem as if the vocals are actually coming from the ghost they are supposed to belong to. Ghosts who have long since been silent now feature their own singing voice recorded by a professional voice actor.

- There is a voice track in the graveyard exclusive to Tokyo Disneyland. I don't know what ghost it belongs to but it is very eerie. It is kind of a "la, la, la, la" kind of thing. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about but you can hear it at around 9:18 of this video. It will be somewhat loud and prominent like it is at Tokyo Disneyland:

YouTube - ??????????????????

(I think it's coming from the ghost sitting upright in the open coffin)

- The raven a top the exit crypt's entrance is now lit by a couple of blacklights while several unseen childish spirits can be heard giggling and singing to "Grim Grinning Ghosts" from the outer sides of our doombuggy as their green eyes peek out at us from the bushes.

- All of the pop-up ghost mechanisms will be replaced by new, and much more powerful mechanisms. This will make the new ghosts jump out extremely fast and unexpected, causing quite a few shocks for some riders. They will then stay suspended behind their hiding place for a couple of seconds before quickly d__________g back down. Their mechanisms will now be hidden from view (Behind another gravestone or plant or something) while each pop up emits a horrible scream once it has leapt up from hiding. Each pop up has been given a new head so they all don't resemble each other, meaning a lot of the family portraits seen in the corridor of doors will be realized once again in the form of a pop up.

- The hitchhiking ghosts have been replaced by up to date animatronics, meaning they are much more advanced than the ones we have now. First of all the scrim in front of them has been removed while they are now lit up by black lights. Each ghost is violet in color and sways in time with the graveyard music which can still be heard echoing loudly in the distance. Their movements are a lot more fluid and there thumbs and arms move a lot better than before.

- Each ghost appears green in the mirror and moves a lot more than they did before.

- The Ghost Host's dialogue goes as follows: You enter the crypt and he says "Ah there you are, and just in time! There's a little matter I forgot to mention; beware of hitchhiking ghosts!" You then move foward and pass the second mirror where the Ghost Host begins to speak again. "They have selected you to fill our quota, and they'll haunt you until you return! Now I will raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home!" That would be the final word heard in the doombuggy, no "Please exit by stepping away from the vehicle with your left foot first."

- Little Leota is now projected from the inside through high definition.

- That grunting laugh recorded by the guy who voiced the Indian Chief in Peter Pan has been brought back much louder than before while ghastly voices (Similar to the gargoyles in the stretching room) beckon us to hurry back in whispered little voices.

Here are some other changes that I forgot to mention:

- The Ghost Host's dialogue about the ghosts having trouble getting through (Containing themselves) and asking Madame Leota for help will be returned to the attraction in the appropriate places.

- Corey Burton will record several new lines for the Ghost Host which will only be heard in several different situations: If a rider is taking flash pictures, if someone has their external video lights on, if someone is standing up or trying to get out of their vehicle, or if a couple of riders are vandalizing the attraction. Each bit of dialogue will be very witty and be written by the same person who wrote the script for Haunted Mansion Holiday as he or she is pretty good at writing stuff for the mansion. This new narration won't require cast members having to talk over the PA for guests to stop doing what they're doing that's wrong.

Well basically I had pretty much everything you said in there except for the endless staircase scene. I had an indoor-outdoor kind of nowhere room instead. It's too hard to explain really in full detail. I tried posting the whole thing but it was a too long a post. I'll start giving some more details soon enough.

So do you have any ideas for the Jungle Cruise makeover?

I was also thinking it'd be cool if not only we had the get in free on your birthday and year of a million dreams stuff, but we had kind of a temporary (Or possibly not) museum on Main Street (Or Downtown Disney) that showcases the story of the Disneyland Resort and all that good stuff.

Another thing I've been thinking about is replacing Toy Story the Musical (Currently Aladdin) with a new show that me and a couple of other guys have been working on. It's basically a Broadway and Disney musical revue with a good cast of characters and a decent plot. But get this: No Disney characters are present in this show. That's right California Adventure is going to be given an original musical. However at HalloweenTime it will be given an added on to version of the Disney Cruiseline's upcoming musical sensation: "Villains Tonight!"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8233sYUDn8

Also what kind of fireworks show and parade should we have? I think we have to top both Remember...Dreams Come True and Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams. And they should be just as emotional, moving, and inspiring, maybe even more!

A nowhere room would be interesting in the HM. And I have no idea what to have for the JC. Maybe a Disneyland Resort museum somewhere on property would be good, too.

I don't know how we could top RDCT, which is a history of the park in the sky. But maybe we could have the new POD replacement be something like the Jubilation parade at Tokyo Disneyland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uBAsWF8yRI). This would help with your comment made earlier about making Disneyland be more like Tokyo Disneyland. Of course, the difference between CA and Japan is that the Tokyo resort is owned by an outside company that pays Disney to use its properties.

And as for a nighttime parade, well, two words: Electrical Parade! And not just what is there now, but with brand-new scenes added to the show. I'd personally like to see a scene themed to the Little Mermaid. It would be like a new version of the really old Briny Deep/Pinocchio Underwater scene.

EDIT: Oh, and I almost forgot: since 60 is associated with diamonds, like 50 is associated with gold, the Fab Six (that is, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto) need to be dressed in more diamond-colored (and diamond-studded) variations of their regular outfits. It would be like Mickey's Diamond Jubilee, the ice show associated with Mickey Mouse's 60th birthday in 1988.

I think it'd be really cool if we added a bunch of new floats to the Electrical Parade! Maybe we had a float dedicated to the 60th

I definitely want to have the hippos ram the boats like they were intended to do for the 50th, but I'm unsure of how guests will react. There's always that one guest who is just hungry for lawsuits and will put his fingers out to be crushed by the oncoming animatronic. Maybe they won't actually ram the boat, it will just seem like it.

I kind of want to give Adventureland a makeover as well. You know ridding of Aladdin's Oasis, giving the Tiki Room a Christmas overlay (It could work), giving refurbishments to all the attractions, and give one constant theme to the land. I was thinking it could be a remote jungle colony flourishing from the success of the Jungle Trading Company's prosperity (Jungle Cruise) and the "recent" discovery of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Actually I would like to work on this if you don't mind.

So here's what the refurbishment of Adventureland would get:

1. New Shops and Restaurants
2. A Refurbishment for the Jungle Cruise
3. A Refurbishment for Indiana Jones Adventure
4. Something in Place of Tarzan's Treehouse
5. A Christmas Show for the Enchanted Tiki Room
6. A Facelift for Pretty Much Everything
7. A Storyline for the Land

I was thinking if we go with the Tiki Room Christmas show maybe we could have the storyline be (It would have to fit in with the new 1930's theme of Adventureland) that the birds are preparing for the arrival of the Red Dragon (Or something like that, this is just a rough name, any suggestions :veryconfu), a great and ferocious "tiki god" whom zooms across the sky without any wings. Instead he is pulled through the sky by flying beasts with horns upon their heads. That's all I got right now but yes the Red Dragon is Santa Claus. However this is the Tiki Room version of Santa; a tiki totem with all the features of Father Christmas.

The storyline for the land itself won't be as in depth and notable as the whole Thunder Mesa storyline at Disneyland Paris. Instead it will just be the assumption of guests but there will be things here and there to suggest.

I like the idea of the museum a lot more now. Maybe we could build a new roller coaster for the Golden State area of California Adventure. Or we could always bring back the Country Bears to that area. They would definitely fit in with the new look of the park.

So any other ideas to help celebrate in the parks? :sohappy:

I like how you plan to refurbish Adventureland, but I don't really like the idea of a Christmas show for the Tiki Room. It's just too classic, in my opinion, to be messed with too much.

Another thing I'd like to see is for an extensive sprucing up of Splash Mountain, similar to what Small World got. Here's what would be done:

  • The logs will all get redesigns so as to be lighter and hold more weight.
  • I've seen some artwork for the ride which features Brer Fox and Brer Bear's heads, as well as Brer Rabbit's, on the bows of the logs (look here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/disneylandpostcards/913077918/sizes/o/). These new logs would also sport the different Brer animals' heads on different logs, not just Brer Rabbit's, but also Brer Fox, Brer Bear and maybe Brer Frog.
  • Outside the mountain (that is, standing outside, in the queue and in all exterior portions of the ride itself), the music would be played in the country-western style used in Florida and Japan. But the music inside the mountain would still be in the orchestral style like usual.
  • The mechanisms for all characters, America Sings and non-America Sings alike, would be updated and/or replaced in order to alleviate the likelihood of 20 years of water damage.
  • As you start to go up the first lift hill, you see Brer Frog sitting on a soapbox, providing the same dialog as in Florida.
  • As you go by Brer Fox's lair outside, you hear Brer Fox plotting from within to stop Brer Rabbit.
  • As you go by Brer Rabbit outside his Briar Patch, you see Brer Fox and Brer Bear across the water, plotting to get Brer Rabbit with dialog similar to the Florida ride, but not identical to it.
  • As you enter the Laughing Place and go down the flume through it, you hear the sound of creaking and breaking wood as if suggesting that the tree is giving way and you also hear Brer Fox and Brer Bear yelling as they supposedly fall in. This is heard via a Goofy yell.
  • The entire Laughing Place scene (prior to when you reach Brer Rabbit stuck in the hive) is laden with shining, beautiful jewels sticking out of the tunnel walls.
  • As you go by the mother rabbit and just before you reach the two vultures, there are now signs reading, "BRER FOX'S LAIR", "WATCH OUT!", "TIME TO BE TURNIN' AROUND" and "DON'T SAY I DIDN'T WARN YOU".
  • There is now thunder-and-lightning effects seen as you go up the lift hill to the big drop.
  • The owl hocking your pictures at ride's end now interacts with you via LCI technology.

I actually don't like the Tiki Room Christmas show idea now that you mention it. I am still going to go with giving Adventureland the one big theme which will kind of tie the land together as a whole. One thing I do think the Tiki Room could use are updates for all of the animatronics, new lighting, and new sound systems. Also maybe some dramatic new lighting for the tiki gods in the waiting area at night. One thing I do want to do is bring back the long-since missing barker bird! He can be seen in this video below. (Note: This is the Tropical Serenade barker, not Disneyland's)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT7uaKSio2U

Here's the one from Disneyland in case you were wondering:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCeJlDka_cs&feature=related

Hopefully this would attract some more visitors into the attraction. It's just last time I was there the place was only half full. I'm hoping the big suits at Disney don't decide to close it because it costs too much or because no one wants to go in and see it. I have a feeling it is crowded on other days though. :D (Again I love the smiley face options they have on this website!)

I think it'd be really awesome if the TV special for the 60th went through all the attractions like Walt used to do, such as seen in this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXUT2hcth94&feature=related

Imagine having ride throughs showing all the happy riders going through the attractions as

I would definitely like to update Splash Mountain by making the characters move more fluently (And look a bit better, meaning Brer Fox and Rabbit).

Also that Jungle Cruise video I posted a link for has inspired me with many ideas for the attraction's makeover so stay tuned. :lookaroun

So just so we're all on the same page, the following stuff would be done for Disneyland for its 60th:

  • General cleanup of the park
  • Overhauls for Adventureland and Mickey's Toontown
  • Drastic updates for Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain
  • New fireworks show and parades (one for day, one for night)

I also thought of doing something nice for Tomorrowland: on the Autopia, all the cars would be scrapped and replaced with new ones that run not on gasoline, but on either solar power or electricity (I don't know which). How's that for Tomorrowland?

Also, if there is a TV special to be done, I think we need to have the Muppets be in it somehow.

I will try coming up with something that could be used for the TV special I really want it to be special.

I definitely want the Muppets involved in it somehow perhaps in the commercials for the anniversary kind of like they are with the whole "Give a Day Get a Disney Day" thing. They would definitely still have a part in the special though. I was thinking that perhaps the commercials could have them riding all the resort's attractions or something like that.

I don't know it's a very "iffy" idea so yes I'm unsure about it. Some of these could be like you know, Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker riding Toy Story Midway Mania as Beaker is actually hit with "real" pies and darts, the Muppet monsters enjoying themselves on the Haunted Mansion and Tower of Terror before boarding it's a small world and becoming horrified of all the singing dolls, the Pigs in Space crew riding Space Mountain or Star Tours II, Kermit and Piggy going on a relaxing boat ride on the Mark Twain before Kermit tricks Miss Piggy onto Splash Mountain, Pepe the King Prawn and Clifford hitting on Disney princesses as they walk by before being menaced by Disney villains (Or the girls' respective princes), Fozzie, Bobo,
(Perhaps Bear from "Bear and the Big Blue House as after all he is a Muppet?"), Cecil, Percival, Edgar, Beth, and Emily Bear (Along with pretty much every other Muppet bear) enjoy themselves on Grizzly River Run followed by a rowdy showing of the Country Bear Jamboree (If we choose to bring it back). The possibilities with the Muppets are practically endless...:lookaroun

Maybe we could have one where Rowlf is walking by the exterior of Pirates of the Caribbean when he overhears two cast members complaining to each other that the attraction's trademark guard dog (The one with the keys in his mouth) refuses to come out of his dressing room. They ask each other where they could find a dog at that time of day and Rowlf volunteers thinking that he is being asked to play the piano for an adoring crowd. Instead he finds himself holding a pair of keys in his mouth as

I think it'd be really cool if an awesome souvenier DVD was released to accompany the event as well. You know ride throughs of all the rides, footage of all the lands, shops, parks, and hotels, etc. Kind of like those really old Magic Kingdom souvenier tapes with the creepy seventies music and clothing. And of course it would have a narrator with a very likable voice. Perhaps some big celebrity can come in and do it.

Also I think the HalloweenTime and Christmas Time events should remain in place, however this won't stop the celebration of the 60th. Some changes might have to be made to the Muppet commercials however. For instance Fozzie and a Muppet snowman (He appeared in "A Muppet Family Christmas") could be walking around the resort at Christmas Time, watching the parade, riding it's a small world holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday, and then watching a showing of Fantasmic! Fozzie remarks on how great the show is just as the dragon breathes fire. Fozzie goes "Wow what a great effect!" But the flame was so powerful it melted the poor snowman in one hit. All that remains is a little puddle on the floor which looks up at Fozzie and says "Little help?" And then the end of the commercial could say something like, "Come celebrate the happiest season of them all at the happiest place on earth. Disneyland: Celebrating sixty years of magic."

Mucho Stuffo (A Lot of Stuff)

Since we're bringing back the Electrical Parade for Disneyland (Right?) maybe we could get some new floats to accompany the new 60th float. Perhaps we can gain some inspiration from Tokyo Disneyland's Dreamlights Parade. I think they have a couple of floats that we don't have. There are five parts to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNPNyGKJug0

What if we added a Tick-Tock Crocodile float right after the Jolly Roger? It'd just be the crocodile's head and neck emerging from "water with only his eyes glowing and shifting around. As he slowly opens his mouth his entire body lights up and reveals an alarm clock stuck between the roof of his mouth and his tongue. As he closes it he goes back out. I don't know it could work, especially if it chased Mr. Smee around in his little boat.

Between you and me I think all the lands of the park should just get a refurbishment:

- Main Street, U.S.A.: Perhaps we can repave its streets and walkways, fix all the light bulbs that light up the streets at night, get rid of all the cardboard advertisements in the windows, bring back all of the window displays for the Emporium and a diorama of whatever Disney (Pixar) movie is out at the time in its rightful place (There's a Ratatoullie one in there as we speak). Also we could repaint the buildings to make them more colorful and "cheery," fix anything that's broken, clean up the bathrooms and locker rooms for sure :)hurl:), replace any weak parts of the Disneyland Railroad track, and of course put items that are only appropriate to the shop they are in for that particular shop. And of course the two parades and fireworks show would occur here. Actually I like the sound of this, it makes me feel kind of like I'm at home for some reason.

- Adventureland: We pretty much already talked about this one yesterday. One thing I didn't mention yesterday was giving the land new pavement and giving a facelift to all the current shops and eateries. I plan to go very retro with this land and bring back all of the shrunken heads and human skull decorations littered about the place. I'm sorry it just made you feel as if you were seriously in another world, just some far off jungle in the middle of nowhere. I remember being terrified of seeing those human skulls above the Adventureland Bazaar, then going out onto the Jungle Cruise in fear of meeting whoever (Or whatever) made those skulls!

- New Orleans Square: I think we pretty much talked about this one too. We want to bring back all the appropriate items to the appropriate shops, new shops and restaurants, etc. Perhaps we could bring back an extended run of "Tiana's Showboat Jubilee" just for the occasion. I really want to put the Bootstrappers somewhere else and replace them with a roving Dixieland band or something like that. Walt Disney made this place so magical and mysterious that it could make you tear up just a bit. Maybe we should do that here in his memory. I think it'd be really cool if we could get some of that nice music they're playing in the background playing throughout New Orleans all day. Of course the songs would alter every now and then:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whdzTil2tGE

I was also thinking it might be cool to have a pirate battle like that on the Columbia every couple of hours during the day. But no pirates from the movies please, this one is so much more magical without them. This show would of course be made especially for the passengers of the Columbia who would be warned of dangerous river pirates lurking in the area.

- Critter Country: Critter Country is full of "Pooh" at the moment, so I say it's time we flush him and his little friends out of the Old South and into the magical realm that is Fantasyland. We should also make the Pooh attraction more exciting. Not like Pooh's Hunny Hunt with the trackless technology but just better than the one we have in Disneyland now. Perhaps this can go where the old Motor Boat Cruise was located, a Pooh flume ride may be interesting.

- Frontierland: I'm sorry but something needs to be done here. This land is probably the second most least exciting area of the park. I know the Rivers of America are already getting an extensive makeover, and I know that Fantasmic was just refurbished, but something has got to happen here. I don't know what but we'll just have to figure it out.

- Fantasyland: I'm really unsure on what to do here, all we talked about was Philhar Magic and the Pooh ride.

- Toontown: Already talked about this just a little bit.

- Tomorrowland: We're going to need to work this one like crazy because it really needs help.

This anniversary is looking absolutely fantastic, just look at what we have so far!

- All of the themed lands will be refurbished.

- Major refurbishments for several classic attractions such as the Haunted Mansion, the Jungle Cruise, and Splash Mountain.

- Year of a Million Dreams promotions have returned, along with the whole "Get in Free On Your Birthday" thing.

- New attractions and entertainment will be added, such as two new shows in the Hyperion (One at Halloween and one for the rest of the year), Philhar Magic in Fantasyland, the Country Bear Revue (Working Title) in the Golden State, etc.

- A general clean up and fresh look for the parks (If California Adventure needs it).

- Two new parades and a new fireworks show.

- An inspirational TV special telling the story of Disneyland and how it's grown throughout the years.

- Humorous commercials featuring the Muppets visiting the parks.

- A new look for the Paradise Pier Hotel and Downtown Disney.

- A new Disneyland Resort Museum will be built in Downtown Disney.

And I think that's all we have as of right now. We should probably either get started in depth on the ideas we have now, or simply just start coming up with some more ideas!

:sohappy:

By the Way

Sorry for the double post but one thing I want to do is get rid of Davy Jones, Barbossa, and Captain Jack in Pirates. Yes I know this would get some people upset (Mainly all those girls that are in love with Jack Sparrow) but the more I think about it I just really like them in there. It's not because I'm one of those big Disney purists (Believe me I actually like some of the changes) but I think that it's time they are replaced. So the attraction will go down for another refurbishment and be restored to its original glory, chase scene and all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4JYGeU3LIs

I want to restore all of the animatronics (And possibly costumes), fix any parts of the set that are suffering from water damage or just old age, fix any un-working effects, and possibly even give it some of the background music from the video I posted a link to above. I would also like to give it some of the lighting effects and unused audio (We'd probably need a new sound system in there) seen and heard in that video as well.

Now you're probably wondering where Jack Sparrow and all of his little pirate friends will go. Well they'll still find a home, only they won't be in Pirates...or Tom Sawyer's Island (Which we should probably do something with). Well I was thinking we could finally build "Thief's Market" and kind of make it a really expansive shop themed to the movies, complete with an LCI Jack Sparrow animatronic (Kind of like that old Pirate Fortune Teller thing) and a bunch of different props and stuff from the movies. I don't know this idea can be expanded upon.

Again sorry for the double post but what do you think about everything I have posted this morning?

Well, I thought everything looked great. I have some observations, though:

1. What do you mean by window displays in the Emporium? I know they have Disney movies referenced there, but what did you mean by getting rid of them?

2. I think there is going to be something being added to the Motor Boat Cruise area, so where would Pooh go? And what would replace Pooh in Critter Country, if the Country Bears will now be in DCA?

3. I think that some people have come to associate POTC with the movies, so they won't really be too happy if it went back to the original, though it would be great if it did, don't get me wrong.

So I figured we could compromise by having some stuff us purists like in there and alter some movie scenes, so that it's less focused on Jack Sparrow and the treasure than on just the treasure. Therefore, Barbossa's dialog about surrendering Sparrow and the treasure will be edited accordingly, as will those of the pirates dunking Carlos into the well. In that instance, it will now be back to its old non-movie self, before it was revised. Also, in the treasure cave, you will now once again hear Paul Frees' "evil curses" dialog (which I believe was partially how it was presented when the ride was featured on the Disney anthology series (go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4JYGeU3LIs&feature=related, and then wait for the 1:17 marker, and you'll see)). Finally, just for good measure, we should also alter the houseboat scene at the very beginning with the geezer rocking on the porch. Currently, the banjo music plays "Oh Susanna". But according to the excellent book on the ride (and the movie) by Jason Surrell, it was originally intended to have a second banjo tune as well, "Camptown Races". I could be mistaken, but I believe the second tune is in Tokyo Disneyland's ride, so why not put it in California's ride, too?

Those are how I would alter Pirates of the Caribbean for Disneyland's 60th. What are your thoughts?

Hmm...

You're right about the Motor Boat Cruise area, they're apparently putting in a Tinkerbell dark ride or something like that. What about the skyway station they once planned on putting it there. Or we could always take out Mr. Toad...just kidding. Well the only logical place I can think of for it is the Motor Boat area or the skyway station.

As for Critter Country maybe we could put in the Big Bad Wolf dark ride? Maybe you've heard of it before but if not I've basically taken the concept of Monsters, Inc. Ride and Go Seek and themed it to the Three Little Pigs who by chance fit perfectly in the Critter Country environment. Basically you travel through the mysterious backwoods and swamps of Critter Country in search of the Big Bad Wolf whom has gotten up to some dastardly deeds. I don't know what these deeds are quite yet as I still need to do some work on the attraction.

I don't want to get rid of the window displays, I just meant the cardboard ones that advertise the most recent DVD release. What I want to do is have the window displays show scenes from various Disney movies and restore the whole "Current Disney Movie" diorama to its original place (The Ratatoullie diorama).

Speaking of which I have an idea for a new Hollywoodland over at DCA. All I have completed so far is the exterior of Mike and Sulley to the Rescue. Rather than having the cheesy painted exterior like it does now it will be given a Union Station-style exterior (With a similar clock tower) entitled "Hollywoodland Center of Transport and " which will also become the unofficial home of the Red Car Trolleys, despite the fact they don't even stop there. Inside you would pass various posters advertising the sights to see in Hollywoodland (And to a lesser extent Paradise Pier) along with the entrances to several "bus stations" where you can "board" taxis and subways to take you around the Los Angeles area. Strangely enough you pass through a Janitorial Closet and enter the world of Monstropolis where the normal ride would be begin.

Also the exterior of Muppet*Vision will be changed to match the new 1920's/30's/40's look of the land. Rather than it's current look of a bizarre laboratory-like thing, it will be given an almost Pantages Theater-like exterior. It will be the same color as M.I. and be given a whole lot more detail than it has now. On the sides of the theater will be new columns with statues of Kermit holding up the roof (Similar to the Miss Piggy statues inside). The frontal portion of the exterior will now bare a giant statue of Kermit emerging from the building holding a sign reading "Jim Henson's Muppet*Vision 3D!" Both the statue and the title will be the same color as the rest of the building. The Swine Trek and pretty much every other cheesy prop in the area will be removed. The queue of the attraction will also be more Pantages-esque; an indoor lobby with fancy statues and chandeliers. However the statues will be of various Muppet characters, and one of the elegant chandeliers will have audio animatronic versions of Rizzo and Pepe the King Prwan placed upon them. Both will humorously converse with each other and make caddy remarks at the guests as they pass beneath them.

The preshow area will generally remain the same only it will be more like a lobby as said before. This means that all the props located in the room now will be removed and replaced by a beautiful fountain embroidered by statues of Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie, and a bunch of random chickens.

Actually I want to go through this remodel of Hollywoodland a bit later.

Ya Pirates sounds good to me so far, so scratch Thief's Market or Rogue's Gallery or whatever the heck it is. I really like having Paul Frees' narration in the grotto scene. I think it should be in Dead Man's Cove like it is in the altered version of Tokyo Disneyland's Pirates as seen here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJgH8rvE1n8

One thing I do want to do is remove Davy Jones' dialogue at the end of the attraction. You know "Aye but they do tell tales!" I think we should just have just "Dead Men Tell No Tales" quietly echoing in the background. Also should we implement the sword-fighting pirates from Disneyland Paris in the chase scene or elsewhere?

And if we're focusing the storyline more on the hunt for treasure rather than Jack Sparrow, why don't we just keep the mayor dunking scene with its original dialogue. "Speak up ye bilge rat; where be the treasure?" And then for the chase scene I was thinking we could possibly return it to its original concept of pirates chasing ladies. As for the Pooped Pirate I was thinking we could return him to saying "Ooh she be a lively lassie she were!" Remember the pirate being bucked back and forth by the horse and goat well maybe we could place a similar pirate snoring and sleeping on a barrel dead drunk as the treasure map and key rest upon his lap. Jack leans over the gate of a horse stable (Alongside a horse) as he tries to reach for the map and key. Unfortunately the horse neighs every now and then and causes the drunkard to snore even louder causing Jack to retract his arm quickly in fear of the pirate waking up. :snore: :lookaroun

I do want to recapture the charm of the original attraction somehow.

I think we need to hold off on Hollywoodland just for a little while, because as part of the drastic overhaul that DCA is receiving, Hollywood Pictures Backlot is not exempt from this...

In terms of the well scene, it will be the original dialog. And everything else is looking good. Maybe the sword-dueling pirates could be in the fort area, since there is already shadows of them in combat.
