From what I understand, everything that was promised in Dubai is on very shaky ground these days. The economic collapse has hit the area hard. Someone else might have more info about this specific project.

It does seem like an odd time to announce a project like this. Dubai is funded not so much by the oil industry as the investment banking industry resulting from that oil trade. Perhaps the announcement is part of some sort of strategy aimed at generating confidence in the region's recovery.

On another note, who knew that Marvel comics were so popular in the Middle East? I know Dubai is an international tourist destination, but it was my understanding that it wasn't a family destination so much as a professional one.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I'm afraid I don't share Alain's enthusiasm of the subject. From what I've heard, the construction employees at Dubai are horribly mistreated.

TubaGeek, my enthusiasm was about the quality of the concept, not about Dubai. I think that Chimera Design - a Californian company - did a great design and that's what i salute in my article. As for the conditions of worker in Dubai my opinion about it (i've post an article about it in the past) didn't changed, it's an absolute shame, there is no doubt about that.
