Hi all

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it when I searched.

How often does MK have their pre-park opening show where the characters come out from the railroad and the CMs sing?
Is it everyday or everyday that is not an EMH day?

Thanks!

I believe it is everyday, but there are two different versions of the show. There is one with the citizens of Main Street, and another where the citizens are skipped and the train rolls in immediately with the characters. As to which show is performed on which day I don’t know.

I've only ever seen the one with both the Citizens of Main Street and the Characters and as far a I know it's performed every day that there is not morning extra magic hours.

Really? Every time I have been there for the opening the train rolls in with the characters right away and they go into the countdown. My bad luck I guess.

I do not know for a fact but the regular show is shown everyday that is non-EMH, on EMH mornings the condensed version of the show is shown. At least this is my understanding of it!?!

I have always been there on non-EMH mornings and I have always seen the full show!

To my knowledge BOTH shows happen every day at Magic Kingdom.

The "Welcome Show" happens about 15 minutes BEFORE the park opens. It takes place in front of the Magic Kingdom entrance. It's a cute song and dance show and VERY Disney. Someone from Main Street Welcomes the crowd (like the Mayor or the Postman) and dancers sing and dance. Then the train pulls up with Mickey, Minnie all the characters on board. Then they all count down the Park's opening and confetti pours down.

I'm always so surprised when I mention the "Welcome Show" and major Disney fans don't know what I am talking about. I think the song medley for the "Welcome Show" is cute. It's a must for Disney fans....!

As for the "Trolley Show" - that happens about 20 minutes or so after the "Welcome Show." This happens on Main Street where the dancers from the "Welcome Show" ride down Main Street on a trolley and welcome the guest in a small song and dance show.

Both shows are very Disney and remind me of "Meet Me in St Louis" if you are familiar with that movie...

Two different shows than what was mentioned above. What you call the "trolley show" is a completely different animal than the rope drop/"welcome show". There are two versions of the rope drop show. A shorter condensed version that may or may not be shown, as well as a longer more elaborate version usually shown on non EMH mornings.

I do not know for a fact but the regular show is shown everyday that is non-EMH, on EMH mornings the condensed version of the show is shown. At least this is my understanding of it!?!

Thats my understanding exactly.

Yes, both are two different shows - The "Trolley Show" kind of sets the tone for Main Street USA. It also uses the same musical opening as the "Rope Drop/Welcome Show."

In all my years at Disney World, I've never seen the shorter "Welcome Show" - I've only seen the full elaborate version.

We need time for things to happen.
Everytime I was there for the rope drop I've always seen it with the Main Street Folks and then the characters counting down...

What REALLY surprises me is that on this message board no one has come up with a definitive:
"THIS IS WHAT IT IS - NO TWO WAYS ABOUT IT" answer yet...:p
