Discuss Do you think WEstern RIver Ex. is still possible?

Of course it will never be as big as it was intended to be. But maybe POTC Disneyland size.

So, do yout think that this could still be possible? And if so, where would it go?

DIscuss.

No room in Disney World, but I have heard rumors the idea's been occasionally tossed around for Disneyland Paris.

I will be pleasantly surprised if it shows up in Epic Mickey.

I don't think Disney has the guts to build a show-based attraction with no attachment to an existing franchise these days unless it's a 2 min long thrill ride w/ all the "story" contained to the queue. The powers-that-be would see Western River Expedition as too risky a project based on money it'd require to do it even halfway right.

Because it's not like Pirates and Haunted Mansion found an audience, right?

Pirates prevented WRE at the MK forever.

But a fifteen minute long ride that incorporates all those wonderfully zany cartoon-like WRE scenes?

Sure, that is possible. In fact, they did build it, at World of Motion.

Very sad, but very true.

Disney management today has the same mentality as the "experts" that said Disneyland would fail.

The bankers and naysayers that Walt fought his whole life now run his company.

The Walt Disney Company today has nothing in common with the one that built World of Motion.

WRE is possible if there is an entire change in management of TWDC.

You hit the nail on the head. The biggest reason it won't get built is because it isn't based off of a preexisting property. Originality is almost completely dead at the Disney parks, at least in America. The new additions in Hong Kong look very exciting.

Really?

Epcot? DAK? DCA? DHS?

They're all not original?

DL and MK are supposed to be similar.

Since Expedition Everest what have you seen completely original? When was the last completely original non-thrill ride?

Exactly. It's tough to think of something. I guess if you wanted to be precise you could say Soarin' isn't a thrill ride and is completely original, but that is a 2001 attraction that just took a while to get here.

Yeah Mission Space was the one before Expedition Everest. Now as far as a non-thrill ride goes, that one I would have to look up .

The one place that seems to have gotten more interesting, as well as more original, lately is Innoventions.
