I've never liked this show so I hope it does (that is if they decide to replace it with a quality show)....

Maybe they should replace it with something that has to do with Dinoland!

I was extremely disappointed with this show...and try to avoid it as much as possible. Maybe it was because I had seen the Festival and then went to see Tarzan...

(Why is it in DinoLand anyways? Africa I can see...but why DinoLand?)

I do enjoy this show. It's not as good as the FOLK but better then Primeval Whirl, TriceraTop Spin or those carnival games.

I would be open to improvements but I enjoy the music of Phil Collins and hope they keep that.

I happen to like it. But I'm a huge fan of the soundtrack and the movie itself.

A Broadway version of Tarzan is in production, so that might have a small bit to do with it. From a marketing stand point it makes sense. If the show is in the parks, less people are as likely to try and see it in New York. The difference with The Lion King and Festival is that the Broadway came first and was a colossal success. Festival actually works well to promote the show.

My guess is that it could maybe be something to do with the traffic flow for Everest opening next year. It seems kind of crowded near the new bridge when guests are getting in line for or exiting Tarzan Rocks.

What about Beauty and the Beast, Live on Stage, then?

I liked this show. On my most recent trip in December, I noticed they scaled the show back some. I remember the rollerbladers used to make their rounds around the sides of the theater and through the main aisle. They did not do that in December. I am not sure if it was just the particular showing or whether they sclaled it back due to saftey concerns.

If they close the show down, I hope they replace it with something and not leave it empty. Animal Kingdom cannot afford to loose an attraction.

That was the Theatric Departments first show, so their logic was (most likely) an attempt to advertise the Broadway like Festival does now. The big difference however is the MGM version is a character-show (with furries), while the Broadway is straight Broadway with elaborate costumes. The two Lion King shows have a similar look and feel, and (from what I understand) Tarzan will be much darker than the movie is (Like what they did with Hunchback).

We were there Dec 4th and they did the rollerblades. I noticed the CMs with towels wiping down the floor (at the corners) before there runs.

my thoughts...

tarzan rocks is too loud and it can be heard as far away as the bathrooms in asia next to expedition everest. when everest opens, this loud music will ruin the theme. also, i agree tarzan rocks does not belong in dinoland... i think maybe thats why they called it Tarzan Rocks! "Rocks"... but I also dont agree with expedition everest, or any other imaginary animal themed attraction being placed in a land designated as "real" like asia and africa. what happened to the imaginary section of the park??

I really hjope it doesnt close. That was one of my favorite shows - I really loved the stunt aspect to it, with the in-line skaters and the aerialists. And I'm still disappointed that they never made a CD for it. I loved the arrangements (particularly Son of Man) and I think they missed the boat on a themed "Live in Concert" style CD.

However, I also know that this rumor has gone around before several times. It was going around when I was a CP, back in Spring '03.

has anyone here seen the original show from this theater? the Jungle Book show... i never had a chance to see it, but i did see pictures backstage at AK during rehearsals one day, and let me tell you, it looked AMAZING!
It wasn't your typical disney character show...
King Louie looked like he was made from rags if i remember correctly, and the elephants were HUGE, just like the ones used in Disney on Ice: Three Jungle Stories...
I think AK needs something to do with the Jungle Book DESPERATELY, and if I'm correct, Jungle Book is in India, and isn't Everest (the real mountain) in Nepal, which is in or around India? maybe i'm just crazy and i DID make a C in geography... haha.
