I was shocked and grosseed out really but thanks to some vactioning family, they're able to locate and investigate some more. Hmmm, remind me never to stay at port orleans ever again. :dazzle:

That is horrible!! Some people are sick!! That poor kid will probably have nothing but bad memories of WDW for the rest of her life, amongst other things. I hope they catch that guy!!

Just a reminder that this is not about Port Orleans, but rather about some sick twisted excuse for a parent.

This kind of thing can, and does, happen everywhere and anywhere. It could just as easily have been Grand Floridian, Pop Century, or your neighbor's house.

I would suspect that lavish gifts, such as trips to WDW, is one way that these adults control the children. They make a big deal about how "nice" they are--vacations, Play Stations, clothes, etc. and make the child feel that they must "pay" for the gifts or make them feel guilty about refusing.

thank you for the voice of reason. Just because something horrible happened at POFQ, does not mean that it will happen to you. Might not have been a parent, however, could have been a friend or relative.

What, pray tell, does the resort have to do with any of this? If you like PO, then stay there. Really, I was waiting for someone to make a comment like yours. It could have happened anywhere. Perhaps because it happened at Disney at all, you should stay away from Disney entirely.

Sadly, these things - which should never, ever happen - can happen anywhere, be it in a house with a white picket fence or run down row houses of the inner city. Its a sickness in society that has very little to with Disney. I'm sure that theyre working with the authorities in an effort to catch the sick ________________.

I have some doubt about this happening at a WDW resort. If you look at the article, there is a link to a photogallery showing more of the room. It didn't look like a "themed" room to me, and since I haven't stayed at Port Orleans, I went to www.wdwig.com to look at photos of the rooms at Port Orleans.

I don't think it's a PO room. The style of furniture doesn't match, and the bedspreads look like generic motel room stuff: no theme.

Maybe she meant that she didn't want to stay there anymore because of the awfulness that happened there. :(

People tell me I'm over protective, but things like this is why. Someone would rue the day if they ever touched my child. :lookaroun It just makes me so angry. But like every one said, it could happen anywhere and unfortunately it does.

This is truly sad and shocking and a sad commentary on some in our society. As the father of a very cute and outgoing 6yo girl, this issue already weighs heavy on my mind and heart.

For those of you who are not aware, most states have web sites that you can check to see if registered ______ offenders reside in your area. Most of them allow you to enter an address and it will map those registered offenders that reside in the vacinity of the address, and provides a brief bio and photos.

For those in Texas, here is the link:

I hope it is helpful.

I have to agree with you on that. I don't think that it looks much like the PO beds. They are fancier and I don't see any of the hidden Mickey's in the bed spreads that I've seen every time. It's not a pattern for the sheets I recognize, either.

This is a tragic occurance, and I hope they catch the people who did it. It's revolting that people take advantage of a child's innocence, and the people responsible should suffer greatly for exploiting children. They sicken me, and I think they should suffer as much as the child had to :fork:

I was going to say the same thing. It can and does happen anywhere. I just saw a commercial for an upcoming Dr. Phil show where a 17 y.o. boy sexually molested his young (I think around 5 y.o.) sister in their own home. It is horrible. Those poor children.....I hope they get the help they need and the ones doing it to them are punished severely.

The law enforcement officials agree that these photos are several years old. This girl is apparently a "favorite" of pedophiles, and police have found more recent photos of her in circulation.

The fleur-de-lis on the bedspread immediately said to me "French Quarter" The resort has been refurbished since they were taken.

I agree with you all about it possibly not being the room. However, look at the corner of the sink in the one picture...thats the same kind of sinks at POFQ. But, there are probably plently of other hotels with those kind of sinks too. Does POFQ has elevators?

I was very overprotective of my children (people called me the smother mother), but, IMHO, you cannot be overprotective or too careful.

As to the comment, if that poster felt that strongly, she really should avoid Disney, because, in reality, that is where it happened. Make the links. ;)

I don't believe POFQ has elevators.
