DLP Video guide coming soon

Okay, since its nearly finished I thought I would announce my craziest, most over the top video yet. Disneyland Paris - an unofficial video tour.

Having discussed this on these boards, I realised that many people (especially from the US) will never see DLP, much as TDL seems so far away to me. With this in mind, I have created a monster. A video that shows you both parks, the attractions (walk in to walk out on most), parades, shops, architecture. Plus, the Village, the hotels (spotlight on Newport Bay), lake Disney, the resort layout, transportation, everything I could think of. I hope those who have never been can see how advanced Disneyland park is compared to its 3 earlier cousins, and why it cost so much! Plus, see what everyone is talking about - the Studios, and the potential it has with some serious expansion.

Now the tough part - this is BIG! I`ll be uploading it to Disney Central when I speak to RU42 about distro availability. I kid you not, this video is 3 hours long - it will be in separate parts; I`m trying to get it into 3 hour long `episodes`. Sourced from DV as WMV 640x480 the total file size is getting on to 1.5gb.... and of course its is virtually all set to source audio. More news and details soon (if anyones interested!)

Have you thought about using MPEG4 to cut down on the file size. This claims to get 360 minutes VHS quality onto 700MB. http://www.artech365.com/mpeg4maker/index.htm

Maybe separate it between the Studios and the Magic Kingdom. That or do it by land? I am certainly going to get this when it comes out.

If I can get it together, it should be 3 parts; The intro and DL park, DL park and the resorts / village / transport, and the studios. The video editing is virtually done, I`m just levelling the audio, doing some titles and fine tuning it...

I`ll look into MPEG4, but my first impressions wern`t good. Either that or renew my Divx licence! Either way its edited to fit on 3 DVDs at HQ (60min) each. Or VCDs with room to spare!

Try using Xvid

You can always download the 30 day trial of Dr DivX. That or obtain a license via warez.

I can't wait DLRP is sooo cool, and this vid sounds like it will show DLRP at its best, yay I can't wait. Good job I just got broadband to be able to download it.

Hi, Maxime. I have Dr DivX, but the 30day trial ran out. I`ll probably buy the licence since it seemed to cut the file size by around a third. The tour will be in 3 parts; the 3rd part for example is 57minutes long at 763mb, so Divx will be useful to say the least! I don`t want to cut resoloution and sacrifice quality since the footage is sourced from my DV (shot on a 3 chip camera) so I`ve decided to keep the res at 640x480, WMV9. More info soon!

Ha - just bought my DivX licence, so the filesizes should start to come down substantially. Files will be 640x480, DivX AVI. I`ll post the video contents here shortly.

any chance I could get a copy on DVD? (Or VCD)

If anyone knows how to set up an FTP let me know. I may be able to host the video, depending on whether I can get it up and people can log on to it.

Well I sure can't wait to get these videos. Hopefully they will find their way to #disney-central. But if not, hopefully I can learn the other program you decide to use.

DC++ is a good one for sharing files

Since my computer isn`t on all the time I use Disney Central to upload to their servers - hence no DC++ or WinMX.

Plus a look at Star Tours, Autopia, Honey I shrunk the Audience, Dumbo, Lancelots Carousell, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Tarzan, Winnie the Pooh and Friend Too Videopolis, The Wonderful World of Disney Parade, Fantillusion and Fantasy in the Sky.

Plus, a tour of Disney Village, the Hotels, an indepth look in the Newport Bay Resort, a transport section and ride round the resort.

Also includes The Walt Disney Studios, with looks at The Art of Disney Animation, Animagique, Cinemagique, The Studio Tour, Moteurs Action! Stunt Show and full ridethrus of the Production Tram Tour, Armageddon and Rock N Rollercoaster (all 5 different rides). Plus the Disney Cinema Parade!

And of course its all edited to beautiful source quality audio, except Snow White, Peter Pan, Pinochio, Cinemagique and Armageddon where I`ve remastered the live audio.
