Hey everyone! I''m new to the forums. I was at epcot about a month ago... I noticed while walking into the direct entrance of imagination, the old escalator that led you to imageworks. The entrance to it was gated off at the top and bottom of the escalator. I was wondering why they closed it. I was also wondering if anything was still up there or are they using it as a storage room like the tunnels in the living seas where the (hopefully temporarily) sea cabs sit with sheets of wood on them.

Welcome to the Boards! If you have a question about something, its always helpful to use the Search Feature. It will probbably answer most of your questions, unless it is breaking news or something. Just thought I would let you in on that. Happy Posting!! :animwink: :D

I was at Epcot last monday. The elevater wasn't roped off and it was working. I went up the elevater and looked around. Almost everything was the same as before it closed. There was nobody up there so my mom made us leave. I later found out I wasn't supposed to be there.

I went up there about a month ago. It was super depressing. The lighted sensory works tunnel only had a single red light shining. It was in a state of disrepair. When I get back to my home computer I'll share my pic. of dreamfinder from up there w/u.

moment of silence for ImageWorks...

Imagination is one of the things that stuck with me most as a child. And one of the things that left the biggest imprint. From being in with a group of kids in the "movie" with Dreamfinder to the rainbow tunnel, to conducting musical instruments with a wave of you hand - man, it was fun.

It makes me so sad that they took it all down. Not to mention how big and airy the pavilion used to look. In the queue you'd see the elevator and stairs...just cool. Made you excited about what else there was to do.

The old queue to Imagination was a thing of beauty. It was open and airy with light coming in from the glass pyramid "roof". And the colour scheme was wonderful... beautiful purples and blues and the artwork showing various scenes in the ride along with Dreamfinder and Figment. The music that played in the quese was lovely and enchanting too.

I just can't believe thy had the gall to cover all that up! The original attraction from the queue to the Image Works upstairs was an absolute masterpiece. I would give almost anything to be able to experience it all in person again.

Considering you're not allowed up there (unles syou take the Undiscovered Future World tour), it would be pretty risky to try sneaking up there just to snap some pics. They could probably throw you out of the park if you got caught.

From time to time, they do hold meetings and conventions there. Apparently, you can book the room for an event.

You may even be able to book it for your wedding reception.

Disney Event Booking would be the people to ask. If I had the money, I'd book it out and invite everyone here to attend. Even get the old dreamfinder to show up.

wow some of you are lucky to go up there to see it yourself..

however I found a site with some pics of the imageworks..

http://incolor.inebraska.com/aat/imagination.html Check it out, not to many pics, but shows some stuff.

"After leaving Journey Into Imagination you could enter Image Works. Image Works was in the upper area of the pavilion and offered guests activities that they could test their imaginations' with. It included Magic Palettes - an electronic coloring book with light writers, Stepping Tones, Sensor Maze, Pin Screens, Bubble Music, Dreamfinder's School of Drama, a Giant Kaleidoscope, and other fun activities. Image Works closed in 1998 and reopened in 1999 as Kodak What If Labs."

We took the tour this past summer and we didn't go upstairs at all. WE didn;t even go in the building. We just talked about it outside.

IDEA!! We can book the place for a JII Rememberance. I wonder how much it would cost. It would be cool though. I'm not sure of the odds of Dreamfinder being there.
