Mvmcp 12/2/04

This was my first time to a MK hard-ticket event, and I must say, I was blown away....it was fantastic. The event runs from 7pm-Midnight, but we entered the park at 5pm for the event. (Park close was at 6pm)

While most of the rides/attractions were open, they are definatly not the focus of the night.

About the events:

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade: It is a fantastic parade, very long, it flows well from section to section, and the music is very nice. The parade features a ton of performers and characters. It is especially nice on Main St as they have the snow machines working. The parade runs at 8:15 and 10:45.

Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas: is on the Tomorrowland Stage. I did not get to see the whole show, but the part that I saw was fantastic. The show features live music and singing, which is extra nice. The show runs at 6:15, 7:15, 8:15, 9:30, 10:30. This show also runs during the day.

Celebrate the Season: is held on the Castle Stage, and is wonderful. It has a great Nutcraker segment which features ballet as interpreted by great dancers and the characters. The Country Bears perform the "russian" segment, which is funny. I enjoyed this show the most. It runs at 7:00, 9:40, and Midnight.

Belle's Enchated Storytelling: I missed this, but it runs at 6:40, 7:30, 8:20, 10:10, 11:10.

Wishes (done in the round) was at 9:15....it is Wishes, fantastic as always, with more launch locations.

On top of all of this, a brass band was playing in Tomorrowland, carolers were in Liberty Square, and their was a dance party thing for kids in the area in front of Ariel's Grotto. Free Hot Chocolate and Cookies are given out at various park locations, and a free picture was available, taken in Timekeeper or the old Adventureland Verandah.

Plenty of meet and greets were also open, all with a holiday twist, and all of the characters were wearing their holiday best.

Overall, the event was fantastic!

Thanks for the review. We've never seen the 'Celebrate the Season' show and want to catch that this year. This event is one of our favorites and I'm looking forward to going again next week!

The event was not sold out, and their were no lines for the attractions, although the attractions are not the focus of the event either. The crowds were still pretty heavy, but their was enough going on that I never felt "crowded".

Here are some pics from Celebrate the Season.

I'm jealous now. I want to go for the Christmas celebration so bad. Great pictures. Sounds like plenty of show times to catch everything.

Sounds great. How were the crowds? We are thinking of making our next trip between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Well, I think the crowds vary a lot. I was there on Friday [Dec 3] and it was mobbed. Probably more locals come on Fridays, where Sundays and Thursdays (especially earlier in the season) are lighter with on site guests mostly. All major rides had 45+ minute waits. But as was said, the best parts of the evening are the special entertainment events. The parade was wonderful. A lot more live dancing than any daytime parade, but the treat for me was the live music. To hear multiple bands play just adds so much. The talent assembled in the various shows was just outstanding.

I was there the same night as Clemson Tigger, and the crowds were pretty dense. HOWEVER, The Son and I were able to ride BTM 5 times in a row, with only a short wait on the last ride; it was right after the first parade.

We ate before getting there, which helped a lot, as there were long lines for food, cookies and hot chocoalte, etc. We also opted not to get the photo, as that line was VERY long.

BTW, these photos do not show the snow vey well. It's trily beautiful. We also discovered that it takes a little while for the snowmaking to get "up to speed" so you might miss it if you arrive right at 7PM. I had to linger for a while on Main Street so my son could really see the snow. (I remembered it from last year, and new that it was supposed to be "heavier" than it was when we arrived.)

I was there on Friday the 3rd as well and while there were a good number of people, I didn't feel crowded at all. And I never waited more then five or ten minutes for anything. We avoided Peter Pan because of the line but walked into almost everything else. Pirates, HM, CoP (at 6pm), Buzz, Stitch, TTA, Big Thunder (twice), Philharmagic, etc. We also caught the second parade, Wishes (which was AMAZING!) and took our photo about 11:30 with about a ten minute wait.

The longest lines were for "real" food since they didn't have enough food places open in my opinion. Casey's had a 15 minute line just to get a hot dog and fries which were really, really awful for some reason and made my poor Love sick!

We got there for the second parade about 10:40pm and took a seat right at the front behind a mom and kids on the curb. Normally, we don't watch the parades on regular days because you have to get there so early.

I liked it. I had a fabulous time. And I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Even a sold out night. I've been there on much, MUCH busier days and this I thought wasn't bad. I definately think they shouldn't expand the number of tickets, but I didn't feel that it was too many.

Most of my photos didn't come out so well, but I did put together a gallery anyway: http://www.disney.giveneyestosee.com/mvmcp1.html

A good time and worth the cost in my book. :)

I went on Sunday the 5th. This night did not go particularly well for MK. We opted for the 8:15pm parade because there were two small kids in our group and we thought they would pass out before the 10:30 parade. The 8:15 was delayed because some poor woman fell and busted her coconut right in front of where the parade comes out from. THEN Wishes was delayed 30 mins. THEN we discovered that were NO BUTTONS being handed out this year when you had your picture taken. Sure, raise the prices and give me a postcard instead.

All in all, it was a good event -

I was there also and was wondering why the parade was delayed for 30 minutes. I hope the poor lady is OK.

Oh, geez! What a way for that lady to remember MK.

As for meeting up, I guess that'll give us a reason to go back doesn't it?
