Mozilla Firefox is a new open source web browser, with a number of features that can make viewing and contributing to these forums easier. You can download Mozilla Firefox browser from http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ . In this third tutorial, I will show you how using Firefox’s tab browsing.
Tabs, New Posts and the Sidebar
If you use the New Posts function of the board, this tutorial may be of use to you. With Firefox you can display one webpage in a sidebar, whilst browsing in the rest of the window.
1. First, we need to make a Bookmark of the New Posts screen. We do this by Right-Clicking on the New Posts link, and selecting Bookmark This Link…
2. A pop-up dialogue should appear. Give your New Bookmark a name, and click on OK
3. Next, we need to tell this Bookmark to load in a Sidebar, so goto the Bookmarks menu, find your new Bookmark, Right-Click on it and select Properties
4. In the dialogue box that appears, make sure the Load this Bookmark in the Sidebar box is ticked. Click on OK
5. Now, when you click on the Bookmark, the New Posts page loads up on the Left hand side of the screen (bordered in red. You can adjust the size of this page by dragging its border). When you click on a link, its content is loaded in the main frame (bordered in green). Note, you can also middle-click on items in the sidebar, to open them in tabs in the main frame. To close the sidebar, just click on its small red cross. To refresh it, just click on your Bookmark again.
By using this method, you can keep track of the New Posts without having to keep going back and forth to that page.
