Ride every ride in the WDW resort in one day

I was just watching a recording of this morning's news from L.A. and they mentioned about a competition that was going to occur on May 30th at Disneyland. According to them a Disney fans were gearing up for the event in which they will try to ride every ride in the Disneyland resort in one day.

There are some rules like no running, no cutting in line and no disrupting other park guests. People will compete in groups of 2 or 4 and groups have to ride together and can not split up. You can use fastpasses.

Here is the link to their site with the mention about this event.

What do you think about an event like this for WDW? Do you think it would be possible to do it?

All I can say is WOW!
It's safe to say that it is near impossible to do every single attraction at WDW within the course of the average trip, so forget in 1 day!

But I wonder how many can be done in a day..hmm...

if you narrowed it to say one park....its very doable. But no way could you ride everything at every park. Stop and think about the amount of time you would have to spend in transportation from one park to the next.

it's impossible. even with driving to each park in your own car it would be.

and it depends what you consider a "ride?" is Move it Shake it Celebrate it a ride?? What about impressions de France?

overall, not even close to being possible with every little thing to do at WDW

Magic Kingdom by far has the most attractions of the parks in WDW. The unofficial guide to walt disney world has a guide of how to ride every attraction in the magic kingdom in one day. I believe it has been completed only a handful of times and this has been when park hours were at there longest and crowds at there slowest but still have the long park hours. You can always check out the unofficial guide for the actual planning guide. I have attempted it and ended up coming up four or five rides short each time. It's an exhuasting day but well worth the try for any disney fanatic that doesn't mind a fast pace.

Didn't they do this on "Step by Step" back in 1996?

:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:yes. yes they did.:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

i almost forgot about that show. too bad everything on tv is now reality. we don't get the occasional "trip to disney" episodes like we used to.

Ok, let me list all of the "rides" where the vehicles move vs. just attractions (for example, SGE is not a "ride")

MK:
WDW Train
Buzz Lightyear
Astro Orbiter
Space Mountain
TTA
Tomorrowland Speedway
Mad Tea Party
Winnie the Pooh
Dumbo
Snow White's Scary Adventures
Peter Pan's Flight
The Carrousel
It's a Small World
Haunted Mansion
The Riverboat (can't recall the name right now)
The boat to Tom Sawyer's Island
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
POTC
Jungle Cruise
Aladdin's Flying Carpets

Epcot:
Spaceship Earth
The Seas with Nemo and blah blah
Living with the Land
Soarin'
Journey into Imagination
Test Track
Mission:Space
Ellen's Energy Adventure
El Rio de Three Caballeros :p
Maelstrom
The Friendship Boat(s)

Disney Hollywood Studios:
Tower of Terror
Rock'N'Roller Coaster
The Great Movie Ride
Toy Story Mania
Star Tours
Backlot Tour

Animal Kingdom:
Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
Triceratops Spin
Primeval Whirl
Kali River Rapids
Train to Rafikis Planet Watch
Kilimanjaro Safaris

So that's about 46 rides. Even if they were all in the same park with no crowds it would be impossible!

I've done four parks in a day at WDW in August 2008, just to see if I could do it (and closed the night with an evening at the recently-closed Adventurers Club), but I did not hit every ride. My goal was on my time to see all the parks, hit the rides and attractions that meant most to me, or were available to me at the given time I was at said park -- just to do it once. It worked, but called for long day -- getting up about 6:30-7am to make the first park (EMH 8am). I got back to my room after closing Adventurers Club at around 2:45 am. I even walked between Hollywood Studios and Epcot on that walking path, stopping for some ice cream at Beaches and Cream.

I find it hard to imagine that you can hit every "moving" ride inside the four parks at WDW (the ones mentioned above ^^^). I have not been on Pooh, Flying Carpets, Astro Orbitors, (yet), and it has been ages since I have been on Indy Speedway, Dumbo, Mad Tea Cups, It's a Small World, Peter Pan and Snow White. It's just me, my tastes have changed, but I still dig Disney. I mean to go on the Mad Tea Cups, but for some reason the line has been long or it just didn't fit into my "loose/free-flowing" schedule.

I think -- and this is stretching it, it could be done, if ... IF you plan accordingly. That is -- you have to hope that almost all the parks either have extra magic open or closing hours, the contest is held in a certain part of the year where the crowds are light (extremely light), all forms of transportation are nearly perfect to get you from here to there, and that there is at least a rest break for food and, well, "using the rest room."

On second thought, I don't believe it's possible. But wait, that's the competition right? The event is held, with no rhyme or reason or time of season. That's the fun of it -- working through all the various crowd levels, transportation snafus, etc. It's the goal of how many moving rides you can get on in all four parks before "time is up," right?

I would believe Disneyland and California Adventure are plausible, but having not visited Anaheim since June 1999 (10 years ago, oh my I have to get back there soon), so I can't give you a valid answer.

Hope those who compete have fun and make it through the "list."

I don't know, depending on a slower part of the season, mixed with a morning EMH at EPCOT, Studios, or AK, ..with say a MNSSHP, or other late night event at the Kingdom, ....throw in some luck, fastpasses, (and timing!) You probably could put a good sized dent in that list at least, I would think.

How long is UoE again? :)

Doing every attraction in a single park is very doable though. How do you count Innoventions as an attraction though. How quickly can you walk thru the walking trails at AK? Etc.

Epcot does have some lengthy attractions though.

UoE is what an hour?
3 WS movies 20 min each.
AA at 30 min
Norway movie is what 10 min?
Space soarin TT can be FP'ed and would take the least time
Land boat is 15 min, Circle of life film is what 15 or 20 min?
HISTA 20 min about
SE 15 min

So your talking 5-6 hours in Epcot due to sheer attraction length, not counting walking times or waiting for films to start. So yeah Epcot could be done in about 8-10 hours probably.

Uh oh! Be careful, or you will expose the fact that WDW doesn't have as many "rides" in its four parks as Disneyland does in its two parks!

You forgot the Main Street Vehicles at Magic Kingdom (although they never seem to run them much anymore in Florida). But even counting those Main Street Vehicles, the two Anaheim parks have more rides combined than all four WDW parks. The total in WDW is 46 "rides", while the total at Disneyland Resort is 55 "rides"!

Disneyland = 38 Attractions with ride vehicles that move

Disneyland Railroad past Grand Canyon and Primeval World
Main Street Vehicles (Omnibus, Horseless Carriage, Fire Truck)
Horse-Drawn Streetcar
Jungle Cruise
Indiana Jones Adventure
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
Splash Mountain
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes
Rafts to Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
Sailing Ship Columbia
Mark Twain Riverboat
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Peter Pan's Flight
Snow White's Scary Adventures
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Pinnochio's Daring Journey
Alice In Wonderland
Casey Jr. Circus Train
Dumbo The Flying Elephant
King Arthur's Carousel
Mad Tea Party (teacups)
Storybookland Canal Boats
it's a small world
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
Gadget's Go Coaster
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Disneyland Monorail
Autopia
Space Mountain
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Star Tours
Astro Orbiter
Innoventions & Home of the Future (revolving carousel theater portion)

Disney's California Adventure = 17 Attractions with ride vehicles that move

Soarin' Over California
Grizzly River Run
Golden Zephyr
Jumpin' Jellyfish
Mulholland Madness
Orange Stinger
Maliboomer
Mickey's Fun Wheel
Toy Story Midway Mania
King Triton's Carousel
California Screamin'
Heimlich's Chew Chew Train
Flik's Flyers
Tuck N' Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies
Francis' Lady Bug Boogie
Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley To The Rescue!
Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

And then there are the other major Attractions that are in theaters, or are walk-throughs, or that don't put you in a vehicle that moves. I leave out stuff like the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade or exhibits like the DCA Preview Center or Disneyland Story or big stage performances like Alladin or Fantasmic!. Those number 14 in Anaheim, and include...

Main Street Cinema
Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room
Honey I Shrunk The Audience
Tarzan's Treehouse
Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
Big Thunder Ranch Petting Zoo
Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln
It's Tough To Be A Bug
MuppetVision 3-D
Disney Animation Pavilion (Animation Academy, Turtle Talk, Sorcerers Workshop, etc.)
Playhouse Disney Live On Stage!
Boudin Bread Factory Tour
Mission Tortilla Factory Tour
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

But if you just separate out the "rides" category that has a moving vehicle, you've still got 55 "rides" at Disneyland/DCA versus about 49 "rides" at the four WDW parks combined. The beauty of the Disneyland Gumball Rally is that you can literally walk quickly from the Jungle Cruise in darkest Adventureland to Soarin' Over California in DCA in about 10 minutes, including a few minutes in line at the main entrance turnstiles.

But then that's not just the beauty of the Gumball Rally, it's also the beauty of any casual visit to Disneyland!

And we won't mention that there are six new attractions that are hard core "rides" coming to DCA in the next three years, compared to no announced "rides" coming to WDW in the next three years. The lead Disneyland has over WDW is about to get bigger!

I think it would kind of ruin my trip attempting to do everything for one day, but if there was some kind of cash insentive :drevil:.

I don't think it is possible, and if you don't get to DHS and grab a fastpass for TSMM then waiting in line for that is half of your day gone.

It might be possible if there were no strollers, ECVs, special events, broken down attractions etc. and all one park, say MK. Might actually be kinda fun.

I think it would be an extremely invasive process (higher crowds, people rushing to get to rides, etc.) for the rest of the guests at WDW and DL.:)
