It is being heavily rumored that ticket prices for the two water parks will go up in price.

The price for a one day ticket for either water park will run $45 plus tax per adult. (Which is up from $40.) Children's prices will be $39 plus tax. (Up from $34.)

Finally!:sohappy:

Sarcasm, I hope?

I do like the water parks, but don't usually get a chance to get there. The one time I went was when I got the add-on for free to my MYW Ticket.

But I don't think this will affect attendance any.

Why would they raise prices now? Seems like an odd time for a rate increase.

No sarcasm here.

It definitely will affect attendance. If not they need to raise the price again. I prefer the crowds a bit lighter.

I actually think that is the best reason of anything someone has listed here in a long time.

Best of luck!

Nothing worse than a crowded water park. I'd rather pay more and have some elbow room and little or no waiting. They definitely should think about seperate ticket events for the water parks. Perhaps adult nights with a luau, entertainment, food etc with limited admissions on select nights. I'd pay $100.00 for that. Guarantee it would be popular! :D

This is why we WILL NOT go to Blizzard Beach and have stopped buying the "plus" or "and more" option.

Paying that much ($40+) to stand in the blazing heat, burning my feat and not actually getting to do anything at Blizzard Beach or going to Disney Quest don't do it for me. That leaves Typhoon Lagoon, which we actually do really like.

TL really is a nice park. If they added more atmospheric lighting, with music, food, games, contests etc for the 21 and over crowd, I know it would sell a lot of tickets as long as they limited the numbers so people could just relax and enjoy the park at leisure. I can't believe they have never tried this. It's kinda like the Night Kingdom idea without having to build a new park.

Well, if you're there in three weeks you could go to the Gay Days' after-hours party at Typhoon Lagoon... :lookaroun

It's been an annual thing. I've never been, but this year's was apparently hastily put together after the usual event promoter changed the venue of the party at the last minute for unspecified reasons. (It used to be known as the Beach Ball)

Rumor I heard it changed from the One Mighty Party people to the Gay Days people was Disney caught wind that the One Mighty guy was embezzling money from his company and Disney didn't want to be in business with a crook so they cancelled all his contracts, including the big one at Hollywood Studios. That is why the event that is usually at DHS is now at the ballroom at the Gaylord Palms. They go from a unique circuit party with rides to a glorified senior prom.

While not quite using the term "embezzlement", there was also a report or two that he may not have paid Disney for LAST year's parties...

I've always found the "and more" option to be worth it. My son loves Blizzard Beach, and we've found that getting there at park opening gives you about 3 hours before the crowds make it too tough to hit the slides -- after that, we spend another hour in the lazy river, wave pool, and kids areas, and then head out. Alternatively, arriving at about 2 pm, spending an hour in the river, wave pool and kids areas usually gives enough time for the crowds to clear out to the point that the slides are doable. 3 half day visits like that is definitely worth the "and more" fee to us.

Of course, it was better when PI was an option as well, but that's another story.
