Thats a lot of cash Disney missed out on if those figures are acurate.

I agree, what did they expect? They kept prices high with the same food in not very themed restaurant. Why would people want to eat there over Cosmic Reys?????? 3 times the price, same quality food.:shrug:

I was checking the disney site yesterday and it has a celebration section and it has liberty tree listed and it said celebrate with characters dressed in colonial clothing. At first I thought it was a mistake but then I thought it couldnt be because the whole site is new and that would be a really big mistake. I was very confused

Ouch. 100 empty tables a night.

So much for all the masses clamoring for the good old days of character-free dining.

Kiss any future de-characterization of restaurants goodbye.

And what's up with Remy sneaking in to Chefs de France? I know it was rumored, but according to Hill, it's already started. Anyone seen it?

And further, what's up with Remy being temporary? Why is everything cool and innovative temporary? (Lucky, Muppet Lab, etc.)

I was wondering the same thing! I thought that Remy was going to be a more long-term addition!?!

And I'm very happy that the characters are coming back to LTT (if it's true). This was on my must-do list for Aug. but I quickly took it off the list when I found out the characters had been removed. I like the food at LTT but the draw was the characters for me. It will be going back on our must-do list if this is indeed true!

I have to disagree on the same food quality, the LT is not the same a Cosmic Rays.

That being said I prefer the lunch at LT over the dinner as the dinner is family style and lunch is a choosable menu.

Actually, I really prefer the family style approach to dinner sometimes. It certainly takes some of the guesswork out of the equation with a big family when you are traveling with kids.

The best part of the sit-down character melas is that you can't miss a character being up at the buffet. Some of the best character pictures I have are from a dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern.

Character free dining is best when the price and food quality/selection are not on par with character dining. Had a similar menu be put in place for dinner as lunch has been done, it probably would have been more successful. Ditching the characters and keeping everything else the same was not a smart move.

Well, I sure hope he is right about this one. LTT is my most favorite character dining experience! I would not have went just for the food.

I agree with that very much, I was not clear in my statement. I think the family style is much better than a buffet in a character meal for that reason you stated. I just was saying as far as the LT food goes, I prefer it's lunch (which was/is not a character meal anyway) because I like their menu. The family style limits what you can have off of their menu.

But in terms of a character meal, I like LT very much. It is also different than most others as the characters dress in revolutionary times period dress rather than at the others places where they are in their usual attire (or in Pluto's case, non-attire).

I hope the characters are coming back. I really do. We loved this experience in the past.

I'm not entirely sure of those numbers. I have a friend who is a server at LTT and I asked him not long ago how things were going. I can't remember his exact response but the impression I got was that things were okay, that they weren't packing people in anymore but they were still doing a decent level of business. I know when the characters were set to leave my friend told me that all the LTT were totally bummed, that they felt their fun festive atmosphere was going to go away.

I really really really hope this one bit of info is true. For my friend as well as the rest of us who want to go visit the characters!

Ooooh...and I'd loooooove to see Remy! I've never had the slightest twinge of an urge to eat at Le Chefs but if I thought for a moment that I'd be sure to see the Little Chef I'd make that ressie in a heartbeat!

If I remember the article in the current DisneyFILES magazine, Remy is slated to go overseas, just like the MML.
