Hi all
My aunt and I are going to WDW March 4 - March 11 and are staying at POFQ for the first time. Do any of you have any little interesting places or things we should look for? We will take the boat to DTD and I have stayed at POR a couple years ago but I never ventured to FQ. My aunt has never stayed on property before and I do not want her to miss anything.

POFQ is my favorite resort in the Moderate price range. Its small and compact, walks from the room to food court, gift shop and lobby are minimal than other mods and values. It has a great lounge and hot tub to unwind at the end of a long day.

The grounds are beautiful and nicely landscaped, my favorite is the tall palm area between the entrance atrium and the pool.

I like getting a room on the ground floor, I just dont like climbing stairs at the end of a long day. Ask for a corner room you get two windows instead of one.

It's not a bunch of fun, but at the end of a long day in the parks we enjoyed just sitting in one of the many side courtyards and watching the wildlife (mostly bunnies and chimpmunks) roam around freely. DD, age 7, is really into animals.

We also enjoyed walks along the riverfront over to POR, and the boatride back and forth to Downtown Disney.

During thunderstorms, the temporarily off-duty lifeguards would start giant Jenga games with the guests in the lobby, many of whom had drinks from the lounge making for a lot of fun.

Of course, stuffing yourself with beignets (? sp) in the food court is a favorite past time as well.:slurp:

we don't have chipmunks down here! only squirrels!

though there were an abundant amount of armadillos out this past weekend!

We will be staying at POFQ from March 7-15. We like to stay in building 5 because it has water views and courtyard views. The building also has elevators which is nice after a long day in the park. The resort is quiet compared to others we have been to. It is nice and small. I would suggest just sitting on a bench in the courtyard or along the river with some tasty beignets.:slurp: If you have the extra money, splurge on a horse drawn carriage ride through the resort. It goes from POFQ to POR and back. It was a nice 30 minute ride in the evening. We have done it when it was dark out with the street lamps on and during the afternoon when it was nicely shaded. The Scat club is a nice place to sit and have a good drink and listen to some great music. The pool looks okay, but we never have used it. We like the resort because it is small and quiet and everything is within a quick 5 minute walk. Have fun!!!:)

I was just down there in the beginning of November. We liked everything about it. We went in the hot tub one night it is nice except it is a little hidden(we went at night and couldn't find it!) it is open to midnight i believe and we were there at like 11pm! Food was great just around 9 A.M it was packed! Also, Nobody mentioned this but stare at the bed-spread!!! There are hidden mickey's! WE had connecting rooms with friends and one night she came in like find any Mickey's? Trust me it keeps you Occupied trying to find them!

I've stayed at POFQ many times. Everyone has mentioned how great it is and easy to get around which i totally agree with. One thing i came upon this year which i had never seen before a launch from Cape Kennedy.I was out for an early morning stroll when the brightest thing i ever saw climbed through the sky.You can watch them from the boat launch or along the river. If you ask at the front desk they will tell you if and there is a launch and at what time it will take place. If you're lucky there will be one during your stay.

As others have already said, POFQ is a great Moderate resort choice! Compact layout, beautifully landscaped, one bus stop, boat to DTD... it all makes for a great resort stay.

One thing to do is walk around the resort. There are several beautiful courtyards with fountains, flower beds, etc. Also, be sure to look at the different path names on the 'street signs'. They are all clever names like 'Rue D'Baga'. Just another little amusing Disney detail.

Enjoy your trip!

If you can, take a carriage ride around POFQ and POR.

Check out the live music at Scat Cat's and the River Roost at POR (Piano Man Bob is a must see!)

At POR (the sister resort), check out the Butterfly Garden and Fishin' Hole (catch and release can pole fishing). And definitely take the boat to do your DTD dining and/or shopping!

Have fun!
