Walt Disney Imagineering Blue Sky Cellar

I really don't think WDW needs something like the BSC. There's nothing being truly overhauled at WDW at the moment.

I would think that when/if the 5th gate is announced, then it deserves a preview center. Not for something as much as a Space Mtn. refurb.

The blue sky cellar looks amazing. The amount of theming and the room itself is incredible. Although I really miss Seasons of the Vine, i'm really excited about getting a preview of DCA's future.

one thing I dont understand is that they left up very visible signage of the Season of the Vine. They went through all the trouble of this great area but didnt pull the old signs down?

Huh? All the signs for Seasons of the Vine were removed long ago, and last week were replaced with Blue Sky Cellar signage.

Are you talking about the signs for Golden Vine Winery? If so, they're still there because the Golden Vine Winery is still there. The wine bars are operating, staffed by Wine Ambassadors, and the Wine Country Trattoria restaurant is still there and operating daily. The winery complex is all still there.

But the old Seasons of the Vine theater is now the Blue Sky Cellar.

Laughingplace has a really great new update with lots of video of the grand opening.

The video covers the presentations and chatty small talk by the WDI executives on hand for the opening, and also covers the official new 7 minute video that is playing inside the center that outlines all the stuff coming to DCA between 2009 and 2012. The videos are great! (And lots of nice pics too)

Amazing stuff coming to Anaheim in the next few years! The Cars Land expansion and E Ticket ride looks totally unprecedented in scale and scope!

Yes, I noticed this as well. however - take a look inside the cellar. The old signs are still up also. They have simply put the banners up over them to give the impression that the imagineers have " taken over" the cellar. I think they did this to retain the feel and ambiance of the barrel room and let guests know what the room was originally built for.

I'm sorry, but where are you guys seeing signs from Seasons of the Vine still up?!? It's like playing Where's Waldo when everyone else has already won!

Or are you guys just talking about the fact that this is still themed as a barrel room on a winery, and they've left up or added more winery themed accesories and stuff?

I can't find a single sign or worded reference to the old attraction that used to be in this space; Seasons of the Vine.

I wasn't talking about signs that specifically said "seasons of the vine." I was talking about the sign that says -tasting room- and the banner draped over it. my point is that the banners are placed the way they are for a reason.

The red car looks awesome! I was disappointed to find out that MGM(DHS) had plans of recieving a red car trolley but was cut back only to become a small gift shop. Hopefully this will rectify that loss. I can't wait!

Just out of curiosity, I will be vacationing at Disneyland in mid-December for a weekend of cross-country fun - just to escape for a few days before the December holiday season kicks in.

Question -- with all these expected enhancements coming to DCA in the future, will I start seeing any cosmetic changes in December? Or will the imagineers start in earnest in early 2009?

I have never been inside DCA and I look forward to experiencing as much as I can before Disney starts its retheming magic.

So when does the transformation start? Which project gets its update first?

The Paradise Pier stuff is starting this year. In fact, all but two of the cars on the Sun Wheel are already removed from the attraction.

The rest of the boardwalk closes Oct. 27.

That's pretty much it until Spring 2009.

No, Screamin' doesn't close for work until much later in 2009. And Mulholland Madness doesn't get tunred into Goofy's Sky School until late '09, reopening in Spring, 2010.
