Just noticed that Disney has posted the hours for TL and BB for January 2009.
I am quite surprised to see TL still being refurbbed in January as well! That means it's closed from the end of October through all of January, seems like a long refurb to me. Maybe to work on the wave machine?
Oh well, guess it's BB for our next trip.:(

I am surprised they keep the water parks open in the winter time!

it's not often THAT cold down here.... besides, it's heated when the temp drops below a certain point

I'm still surprised! It gets cold enough to where I sure wouldn't be at those parks during the winter months!

I live 2 hours north and there is no way I'm swimming October through April.

Granted, I am a Florida Girl and I don't tolerate the cold well. I don't really tolerate chilly well either.....:)

I understand. But people from the NORTH think that even our coldest weather is warm.

Ever seen them running around in shorts in February?

No, man.

2006 - Valentine's Day - I am standing in EPCOT in a light hoodie drinking a Bass Ale and waiting for ROE to start. These people next to me FROM WISCONSIN are shiverring their timbers off. The lady turns to me and asks if it is always this cold in Florida in February. I am like, uh-huh, it's winter. It was truly cold and I was amused that they were freezing. She explained that they always layer their clothing and wear coats so although they are used to the cold, they also dress better. I think because in Florida it is 35 degrees one day and 65 the next that we can handle the shift in temp better.

What was my point...?

I dunno - I am surprised they would staff water parks in the winter here no matter what the crazy northerners do.

Weather that we may consider way too cold to go swimming in, to a lot of people is very pleasant weather. Especially considering what they left at home.

I am a crazy northerner... we were last in WDW March 2007 and there is NO WAY we would hit up BB or TL. We were cold just like everyone else. I wore shorts one day in AK.

:lol::lol:

And you just never know what to pack to go to the parks here. Even me. I have been caught without a jacket because it "turned cold" in a matter of hours, and I have also gone to the parks with a jacket and wanted to ditch it an hour later because it was hot.

And no, it's not hot flashes. I'm not quite there yet....

Yep, It's warm.:)

Well, actually I did get cold once.
When PotC 3 came out on DVD, me and my dad went to the World of Disney store and waited in line early in the morning (5 or 6). This was early December. I wore shorts and a T-shirt. I didn't want a jacket, because I thought I wouldn't need it because, I'm in Florida!
Big mistake...

Oh, and we go in December because we can't tollerate the heat...

YEAH My favorite time to go to the parks is Jan-Feb. I live here in Florida and I get really tired of the heat, too. Lately I get in my car and the digital dash temp gauge reads on average 104 degrees. It is just stifling hot lately. :(

My favorite are 70's, but 80's are fine too.
This summer has actually been fairly good. We haven't reach the hundreds (that I can remember) like we did a few times last year.

And anyone know if they plan on adding some new attractions to the waterparks anytime soon? I know BB is land-locked, but Typhoon Lagoon still has quite a bit of room.

There's plenty of room for BB to expand. Just move one small CM access road.
