October 3rd & 4th Hoopla?

Is there any additional info about what is going on around this weekend?

First the MNSSHP for Friday October 3rd has been cancelled and now I get a voicemail from Disney that they have to cancel my October 4th Dinner ADR for Tony's at MK. They stated that I could try and change it to lunch or another park/resort restaurant as ALL restaurants at MK will be closed for dinner that night! :eek:

QUESTION/CONCERNS:
1) I made my ADRs 180 days out and I hope to be able to get something decent at this 51 day out mark for our trip.
2) Should my family and I try to avoid the MK these particular days due to some event going on. Will it be crazy crowded with no restaurants open and some special hoopla taking place?

Any info would be most appreciated as this could really impact my fall trip.

The entire park has been reserved for a private party before. In this particular case the park was already closing due to MNSSHP.

A lot of rumor has been going on about the 3rd but any insight on all restaurants closing on the 4th at MK? Will Miley and all her friends be eating all the food up or what!

You have to be kidding me.

Seriously.

I guess we won't be getting that press event we thought we would, unless that's what's on the 4th then.

I'd love to have that kind of money and be able to have a private party in the MK, but since I don't, I'll just be happy that I actually have ADR outside the park for October 4!

Miley is paying them a lot more than what they would earn from MNSSHP.

I'm concerned about the night of the 4th, I have ADR's at the Wave for dinner, and was then going to the MK for Spectro and Wishes....

When I get home tonight I am going to call Disney back and see what additional info I can get as well as get my ADR changed.

With the callback, I would have a second choice, and insist on that (politely). If they say not available, [again politely] as for a supervisor. I would also send a response to your email notice voicing your displeasure and asking if any assistance will be provided to you in making other plans [mentioning that you have tried other reservations and all are booked].

I'm not much for comping all the whiners and loudmouthed SOB's that do get more than they deserve, but in this situation, I believe Disney does owe you a little extra effort.

There won't be any Disney breaking news event. We went through this same "hoopla" last year and there was nothing. Just wishful thinking by many. And Mileys actual bday isn't until the end of the month, so unless shes having her party weeks early?!

If the Oct 3/4 evening closures are due to Miley's b-day and if it is the end of Oct (although Nov 23 was also mentioned), it makes sense to hold it eariler in the month and turn guests away from an Oct 3 MNSSHP than an Oct 24 or 31 (sold out) MNSSHP.

Two evenings do indeed sound like filming will be taking place.

Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992. I don't see why she would be holding her Sweet 16 party on October 3, unless it's going to be filmed for a Disney Channel special or something and aired on her actual birthday. :confused:
