mkt's World Showcase Beer Reviews

hello.. hello.

My first review is Stella Artois, a belgian delicacy served on draft at the Rose and Crown. It's a very strong light lager with a flavor all of its own. I'm a lager man, with my preferences being Heineken and Red Stripe, so I was a bit apprehensive at first in trying something new... especially when the bartender told me it was light.

Well that beer surprised everyone in the party who tasted it. Wilt Dasney, Photodave219, and myself. I now have a 6 pack in my fridge. This beer is extremely smooth and tasty, but its strength is something that most Americans don't expect in a beer. If you drink too many, it will come back and haunt you in the morning. It will haunt you like if an epileptic mule kicked you in the head. So enjoy this Delicacy of a beer like it is... in moderation and over an extended period of time.

This beer would be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys a lager, or something new.

And before you ask "why is a belgian beer being sold in the UK and not somewhere closer.. like France or Germany." Well, this is the #1 selling beer in the UK.

Finally, something out of Belgium that isn't evil, doesn't involve chocolate, and doesn't involve sprouts.

Oh -- The thread this sorority girl has been waiting on all her life.

Thanks Rob! I'll print this out as a reference guide for my next trip. Actually, why don't you just come meet me there? :drevil:

I love Stella. It is one of my favourite tipples. I seem to drink loads of it at my Student Union bar. It is classed as a premium larger, and it is quite a strong larger - 5.2%ABV. Lovely!

Over here in the UK it is nicknamed "Wife Beater" - you have been warned! :lookaroun

Best Beer in World Showcase is in Norway. Ringnes (sp?) Problem is World Showcase is the only place I could find it anywhere in the states. I even searched the internet trying to order some with no luck. If anyone knows where I can get it without having to drive to WDW or Norway, please let me know.

time for review number 2...

Ringnes from Norway.

I'm sorry ACE, but I beg to differ.

If I wanted Natural Light, I would've bought Natural Light. It tasted watered down, it was weak, and it left me craving something. I ended up having to drink a Becks Dark to balance it out.

I would not drink this beer again.

I must agree with MKT, i have been personally kicked by the stella mule the next day. Your indicator that you need to move on is the point when you sit behind the piano with Pam Brody and lead the singing.:p

I'm not 100% sure about Japan, but in Germany it's Becks and Becks Dark

The best cider you will ever taste is Magners. I believe its Irish, and its even still pretty hard to get it in Scotland. I recommend you do anything you can to try this stuff. :slurp:

As for a lager, the rose and crown would do well to get some Tennents in, tastes like paint stripper, but the scots love it!

(Its not as strong as the wife beater though :dazzle: )

I had a really good cider in England. I didn't get the name of it though b/c it was put in one of those plastic cups that's like 3 feet long so I could smack people in the back with it as I walked around drinking it.

I preferred it to Hornsbys. :slurp: Can't wait!! 40 days!!
