The Flying Unicorn & Enchanted Oak Tavern Closed

The Flying Unicorn, Enchanted Oak Tavern, and Dragon's Keep gift shop all closed yesterday to make way for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter...

R.I.P. Enchanted Oak Tavern, one of the best theme park counter service restaurants around.

Whoa! Wait, Enchanted Oak is gone? It's not re-opening? Are they themeing it to Harry Potter? Man, I love that place.

I'm sure another restaurant will be opening. Maybe even Hog's Head pub or something along those lines

They have a poll going over at http://www.universalorlando.com/harrypotter/ asking where you would rather eat Hog's Head, Honeydukes or The Three Broomsticks. I'm fairly sure that Enchanted Oak will become one of these three.

It's cool that they want to theme it to Harry Potter, I love the books and films, but it will be sad to see that beautiful exterior of the tavern be taken down.

I love the enchanted Oak, esp. the outside. I would think they could keep the outside the same and still work it into Harry Potter somehow...hopefully!

And what no more flying unicorn! That was the best kiddie coaster, its little curves gave ya some good mini Gs!!

I agree the Oak was great for counter service, but I have every expectation that what gets opened in its place will be just as good or better.

Are they re-themeing the Unicorn coast to HP? What of Dueling Dragons?

Unicorn = Hagrid's Hippogriff coaster

Dueling Dragons = not sure, but it will be rethemed

Oh I thought that the Flying Unicorn was going to be gone forever but thats good they are re-theming it. Its a great first rollercoaster for little ones to experience.

Big rumor for Dueling Dragons is a retheme to the Triwizard Cup. It's even expected to have a replica of the cup and the Goblet of Fire in the queue.

Ok, that is cool, I can live with the re-theme of Dueling Dragons. So long as they keep that castle for the que I am a happy geek.

Poseidon is staying, that section with Mythos will remain as TLC. Who knows when Sinbad will close.

I was there today, didn't feel like taking the camera but man, the walls give no mercy. Hardly any space to sit and wait for people on DD anymore. If you keep walking hoping to find a route around the back or something, you just go to the exit ramp of DD.

IOACENTRAL has pics of it.

I miss the bar.

Oh man... Enchanted Oak is my favorite counter service restaurant at any theme park I've ever been too. Theming and food were both wonderful. That chicken was SO JUICEY!!!! :slurp:

So instead of riding or being a dragon in Dueling Dragons I guess you will supposed to be riding a broomstick?

You know, it would be cool if they could somehow put a dragon in there somewhere, off to the side or something. Would be pretty sweet to see that.
