Other than an occasional security check I doubt it.It is a shame that it is closed!!! Does anyone go and check on it at Disney?
What exactly was the reason why Disney closed it?
No official reason has ever been given but I suspect it was a combination of several reason such as water quality (namely a nasty little amoeba found in lake water that kills nearly 100% of the people infected with it), bad location, too small, 2 other successful water parks, etc. What exactly was the reason why Disney closed it?
From what I can understand, there were some weird organisms in Bay Lake's water that very unsafe, even lifethreatening.
You can no longer swim in any of the lakes at WDW.Isn't there a beach on FW so people can swim in Bay Lake?
:lol::lol:Disney Guests are on the ADP (Alligator Dining Plan).

...and I have never understood why anyone would want to. Ewwwww.
The last time I stayed at the Poly there was a family who was hell-bent on swimming in the lake. Several CMs had to come over to them and tell them to get away from the water. There was a definite language barrier though. Maybe Disney should train the CMs to say "flesh eating bacteria" in a multitude of languages.
Wow, I wasn't aware of the closing of River Country or not being allowed to swim in the lakes. When did this happen?
Thanks :xmas:
I guess it would be a bit much for them to replace the No-Swimming signs with skull and crossbones....may impact the ambiance a bit too much...:lookaroun
