What ever happened to it?

I remember it always coming on TV in the 80's but i havent seen it in years. You'd think they'd at least show it on ABC family or something....any one know why it got the axe?

you can find it on yutube. A few of them have been pulled down by Disney but there are a few out there that still work, I watched it there yesterday actually.

There is actually a DVD called Disney's Holiday Classics and it is on there. My DH brought it for me last night because I also like Mickey's Christmas Carol.

Yeah I noticed that it hasn't been on for a long time in my area. I have a taped copy from Christmas 1991 that isn't looking that good anymore. And it's one of my faves, too...especially b/c Mr. Toad and crew make appearances!:xmas:

My advice get Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Living Color Volume 2. On Disc 2 shows the latest Features that Disney Animation did with Mickey. Mickey's Christmas Carol, The Prince & The Pauper, And his best short to date Runaway Brain.

I love Mickey's Christmas Carol, it's one of my all-time favorite Disney cartoons. It still tugs at my heart each time I see it. :D

It's a shame it's not shown on TV anymore, I miss it. :(

I have it on one of my WaltDisney Treasures. I believe it's on Mickey Mouse in Color Volume 2 :) There are also some other dvd's that it's on I believe.

You know today I just watched another older version of the Christmas Carol from 1936 and I might watch a 1951 Christmas Carol movie right before I go to sleep :snore:

You know I am in the Christmas Carol. One of my names is Tiny Tim

And, amazingly, they're all in widescreen. You have no idea how happy that made me. Yes, I'm easily amused...

I love this cartoon! It's not Christmas until I've seen the movie. I've seen almost every Christmas Carol series/movie, and out of all of them Mickey's Christmas Carol always gets me bawling like a baby when Mickey and Minnie are at Tiny Tim's grave.

If you don't wish to spend much money on Mickey's Christmas Carol :)

I just saw this dvd on amazon and I might get it myself. It's true that I allready have Mickey's Christmas Carol on the Walt Disney Treasure ( I always make sure I get all the Walt Disney Treasures :king: ) but I would like to have another copy myself. I could bring this dvd to other people's houses and stuff. You see I like to keep my Walt Disney Treasures at home, because they are so special to me :king:

Here is a link to one on Amazon for $6.99

http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Carto...ef=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1197060288&sr=1-6

If you order $25 or more you get free shipping from amazon. Also other places might have this dvd for about the same price

If you are looking for other version to the Chrismtas Carol on Amazon check out this link

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_d...d&field-keywords=the+christmas+carol&x=10&y=6

This is what is on Disney dvd that has a Christmas Carol. Keep in mind that it may not be the widescreen version of the Christmas Carol that is found on the Walt Disney Treasure.

I am a massive Christmas geek, it's absolutely my favorite time of year, and I love, love, LOVE watching Christmas movies. Mickey's Christmas Carol is hands down my favorite. I have very fond memories of watching it as a child and have wanted to own a copy for years and years. When I first heard it was on DVD a few years back I was giddy with excitement and I couldn't wait to get it. Mickey's Christmas Carol is beautifully animated and perfectly captures the spirit and essence of Dickens' original story. The music is fantastic too..."joy to the children far and near", and just hearing it moves me to tears.

My family has never been very close and we never really did anything together but inevitably, every year, we would all end up gathering around the tv to watch Mickey's Christmas Carol and there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house. To this day my Dad will watch it and bawl like a baby. Just the other day he commented that he would love to watch it. I guess one of the main reasons I love Disney is because it seemed to be one of the few things that could bring my family together. I have very fond memories of watching Old Yeller, Swiss Family Robinson, Mary Poppins, the Herbie Movies and countless others with my family and I hope to continue that tradition with our children when we have them.

When I think of Walt Disney I think of brilliant storytelling and Mickey's Christmas Carol is a shining example of that. I think Walt would be incredibly proud. By the way, on the original program that aired on tv there were several cartoons, two of which I haven't seen in years. One had Donald having a snowball fight with Huey,Dewey and Louie and the other featured Goofy learning to snow ski. Can someone tell me if these are featured on any of the DVD collections that have been released?

I just checked my Disney Treasures DVD and it appears that I do have it on my Mickey Color volume 2. However, it is listed as a "short". I was under the impression that you all were talking about a full length movie and not a 10 minute short.

It's neither a full-length movie nor your typical 8-10 minute short. It's about 24 minutes...perfect for a 30 minute time slot on TV.
