YoaMD extended?

I can't see that this has been posted already - but apologies if it has!

This was posted on www.disneyworld.com/passholder

Since we premiered The Year of a Million Dreams, our Guests have seen so many wonderful dreams come true, they’ve wished that this amazing event wouldn’t have to end. Well, we have great news, and we’re telling you first!

We’ve decided to continue The Year of a Million Dreams celebration for one more exciting year! You’re among the first to know that all the fun, magic and dreams come true will continue through December 31, 2008! And we hope some of the extra dreams will be yours!

New dreams are coming true next year

You’ll be happy to hear that there are a lot of new surprises in store as we continue The Year of a Million Dreams. As next year unfolds, we’ll immerse you in new parades and the exciting new attraction, Toy Story Mania!, where you’ll interact with characters from the Disney•Pixar “Toy Story” films in exciting 3-D midway-style games. It’s a different experience every time!

But like any beautiful dream, The Year of a Million Dreams can’t last forever. Be sure that you’re a part of all the excitement for one more year. In the meantime, have fun telling all your non-Passholder friends this news they probably haven’t heard yet!

That's great. YoAMD is a fantastic promotion. Low cost. Many winners. Why mess with it?

After the quarter TWDC (particularly WDW) just had, why wouldn't they extend the promotion?

Sounds good to me

It's coming back, but it has been significantly altered to make sure that more Guests understand how it works. All the changes are good ones.

The YoMD itself didn't convince Guests to come. The ad campaign, free dining plan ( ), and other promotions did that. The YoMD is continuing because has succeeded at re-establishing all the Disney parks* as premiere vacation destinations.

*Thankfully, the Disney Parks brand is going away.

I feel the same way. Even though we didn't win "BIG", we won a set of pins and that made our day. Like life, it's the special little things that people do for others that mean so much.

Agreed. But it has been a good promotion, and I'm sure it's gotten some word of mouth (at the very least from me). It may not be a sole reason for guests to make a special trip to WDW, but it certainly could be an incentive. I don't have any top-secret numbers in front of me, but I'd imagine the YoMD didn't hinder the parks' rising numbers, so why not stick with it?

Interesting news. I guess YoaMD has been pretty popular, huh?

Sounds good,I just wish they would foucus a bit more on Epcot's 25th.

I dunno why people hate the parks brand so much...I think the logo looks kinda nice and universal for ALL the Disney Parks.Would anybody care to explain why most members/fans dislike it?
