I kinda want to say that's an urban myth sort of thing because I know people who have had birthday parites and Christmas parties there. And I know they didn't put their names in 14 years in advance.

Membership wait is 14 years. If you know somebody who is a member you can get in with them (up to 9 guests), but they do not have to attend, just make the arrangements and pay for you.

I, too, was a little surprised that you have never heard of this.

I'm surprised that nobody has brought up the idea that WDW should have something similar.

Just a few reasons why I don't think that it would work at WDW.

WDW's population base that they draw upon is alot larger than Disneylands, which would require a larger restaurant, therefore negating it's intimate feel.

People at WDW would NEVER put up with this kind of exclusivity. Every redneck in the southeast would be screaming bloody murder that they couldn't take their Aunt Betty to dinner there without forking over beaucoup bucks and going through a screening process.

^ That's crazy!

I have a question. Once you become a member (after waiting years), are you a member for life or is there an expiration date?

I have been spoiled and now no matter where I eat at DL, it is just not the same!

The service is also fantastic as the whole staff is extrememly proud of their job and will gladly take time to talk about the history of the place.

My visit there was one of the most special nights ever at DL!

My aunt had here retirement party there last year. It was her first time. Another nephew who had been a CM for a decade or so was a special guest because he in the 10 years working at DL had never ever had a chance, in all his after hours events and whatnots for years, to get inside. So yes, it's very exclusive.
