Tip Board for Future World West

Was checking out the county paperwork, and papers were filed on Tuesday for an LED tip board to be installed in Future World West.

"Fabrication and installation of a "themed" LED Electronic Message Display Board, in the planter on the West side of Future World at Epcot, near the entrance ramp of the Land Pavilion. Relocation of existing information sign to adjacent planter."

Looking at the ground plan, it's the two large planters right next to the ponds, not the one in the middle of the Land entrance ramp.

I'm assuming it's a tip board like the one installed in FW East. At least now you'll be able to see what the FastPass times are for Soarin' before going all the way inside.

Oh, and in a different filing, the Contemporary North Wing construction job is being referred to as the "Contemporary Suites". Could just be the phrase of whoever filled out the form, it appears hand-written.

Could also just be a board displaying the wait times for the Land and FP status for Soarin. So, who knows until it's isntalled. But, yay!

I was skeptical of the East board when it was first installed, but it actually is a great help. It seems logical that they would have a matching one on the West side.

It'll be quite helpful for all the people rushing to Soarin' - you wouldn't believe how many people I hear complain about having to go "all the way downstairs" to check on the wait time.

Given the long walk to even see what the Soarin status is it would be a wise move to have Soarin Standby and FP info at the top of the board all the time, and the bottem scroll through the other attractions instead of doing the standard wait board.

what they SHOULD have done all along is place a sign out front of The Land all along listing Soarin' Stand-By wait times and have the actual Fastpass kiosks outside. I know they put them inside to promote guests spending money at Sunshine Seasons, but from a crowd control standpoint, the FP kiosks should've been outside.

Good idea but I think that whole area would ruin the nice atmosphere over there.

nice atmosphere? Isn't it mostly grass and rocky ponds? I'd rather lose a rock pond if it meant not having to push through the great sea of humanity to discover that Food Rocks is still closed...

Like most of epcot it's all about the landscaping. I'd rather they put the FP machines just inside the doors of the pavilion instead of outside.

This new tip board is ruining Future World. I saw a video of the board, and I wrote Disney a letter. I can't believe they would add "tips" to the FUTURE!!!!!!!! Everyone knows that there aren't any tips in the future. How are people supposed to be educated when there are "tips" jumping out at them all over the place?

I'm never going to WDW again.

I don't even really understand this. I mean it's pretty obvious that your being sarcastic, but are you trying to make fun of me saying that the circus of a fastpass distribution would ruin the atmosphere? Are you mocking the person who said it's to bright? Or are you just trying to be funny?

You said "This new tip board is ruining Future World." And those are the only two places where people have said anything of the sort. I just don't really get it.
