Welcome to my new form of update, the MOVIE SIGN! review. While I love my park Updates, I feel that I need to share my ramblings and riffs of this year's Movies. At the end of the year, I'll tally it up to see if the good movies out number the bad movies. First a quick note on ratings...

5 Stars- ("Best Movie EVER!"):An amazing film, that really is what movies are about.

4 Stars-("That's Entertainment!"): A movie that's great, and really is entertaining. A must-see film.

3 Stars-("Eh..."): A movie that's just a margin above bad.

2 Stars-("Don't waste your time"): Detergents leave better film than this. Don't waste your tme or money.

1 Star- ("STINKBURGER"): Awful. Not for human consumption. If consumed, induce vomitting.

For the record, here are the ratings for my first two films of 2007.

Experiment #101-"Wild Hogs"
Rating: 1 Star
These are four wild rebels that get into all sorts of non-adventures, bad jokes, and one very, VERY, stupid plot.

Experiment #102-"300"
Rating 5 Stars
An amazing film, without a doubt the first great film of 2007.

Alright, that's about it. Now join me as I make my way through the rough waters of Movie going! Grab you extra-jumbo-large Diet Coke and your all your other sticky snacks, and join me for my MOVIE SIGN! review! (NOTE: Spoilers are ahead, if you want to be surprised.)

Experiment#103- "Meet The Robinsons" in Disney Digital 3-D With short "Working for Peanuts"
rated "PG"
IMDB Information:

Well, as much as I didn't want to see this film, the call of Digital 3-D brought me to the theatres to see Disney's second (And hopefully last) non-Pixar CG film, as it did for me back when "Chicken Little" came out, and I hated that film. Just plain bad. So I went to see the 3-D in all of it's Digital glory down at the Festval Bay Mall near Universal. It's a really nice mall in the tourist area, but quite lacking in stores. It has some big stores though, like Ron Jon's Surf Shop (Killer waves dude...), Steve and Barry's college shop (Everything's only $9.44, because that's as high as we can count!), Van's skate store. (I'm still waiting to see one take a nose dive onto the floor. Now that'd be funny!) and the Outdoor World Bass Pro shop (AKA Hootin' and Shootin' world. It' a big store full of dead animals. The funny part? The "we support conservation" sign at the exit. Guess you need animals, to kill them!) and a nice theatre which is where I saw the film. First off, I really enjoyed the classic Disney short "Working For Peanuts" before the movie. The 3-D was great, and I think every movie needs a short before it. Thanks Disney, that was fun. Next came a trailer for the 3-D version of "Nightmare Before Christmas", which will be coming back this Halloween. It's still the only really great film to be in 3-D, and I'm already excited to see it again! Now onto the film...

Well...It didn't bomb as bad as Chicken Little. It's clear that John Lasster was at least able to make the film have a point, and a story. Sure the story's very muddled most of the movie, but you aren't left entirely confused afterward. It was to some degree entertaining, but pretty much all of the jokes weren't really very funny. I would've had a good laugh over the Todayland shot, but they played it so much in the trailers, I just didn't care anymore. The animation was just as iffy as it was in Chicken Little however. The details look fine, but the faces and people just look wrong. They aren't strange looking, but real, like in Pixar films. These just don't look right.

But these are just minor complaints compared to what I was really bothered with during the end of the movie. Wilbur actuuly meets his future-self, and in the end, he KNOWS his future. This is breaking a BIG Time Travel law. (Any Sci-Fi geek will know this) It's a fact that if you meet yourself, the exact same atoms would destroy the universe! All life and matter would be destroyed, and this happens a few times in the movie! Even if you look past that, the knowing his own future would be very bad! Have they not seen Back To The Future? That bugs me even more than the tagline "Have the Time Travel of your life!" That's just bad Sci-Fi grammer, not something that breaks the Sci-Fi law! It's like Ape Law!

Now the film isn't bad. It has some good parts, and a good message. I liked how it ended with the Walt quote, that was also nice. The Digital 3-D is still great, and if you must see the film, I suggest you see it this manner. (Oh, and if you're a Futurama fan, you'll laugh alot in parts that weren't supposed to be funny.)Also this movie reminded me very much of the Robots film. It's a lot like it in how it looks, and it's also an overall Ok film, though I actully enjoyed Robots a little more for the fact that I cared for the main guy in that movie alot more. Overall, I suggest that if you're a big Disney fan, or have kids that'll like anything, I suggest you should see the film. In the market of all the horibble CG films coming out (I.E. Monster House, Polar Express, and the VERY painful Happy Feet.) Meet the Robinsons certainly isn't the worst. It's no Pixar, but again, I think John Lasseter saved this movie from being a StinkBurger!

Rating....... 3-("Eh...")

RAM Chip Summary
In the last part of the review, I take a look at a good thing, and a bad thing about the movie, like in the early episodes of MST3K, where the bots would get a RAM Chip for doing the same thing, for example...
Joel- "what's a good thing about the movie?"
Crow-"It was groovy...And I mean that in a good way."
Joel-"And a bad thing?"
Crow-"It was groovy...."
Joel-"And you mean that in a bad way?"
Crow-"Yes."

Good thing about the movie- They Might Be Giants singing "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow." It's not on the movie, but it's on the soundtrack.

Bad thing-Bowler Hat Guy's legs. They are really freaking me out.
:lookaroun

Well, that's just about it. Hope you enjoyed my random ramblings of intrest, and I hope you come back for future reviews, including the upcoming double-feature, "Grindhouse", which I'm looking forward too. Future Zombies? Two Movies? Scratchy film? Two great directors? Sign me up! Until next time, "What do you think, Sirs?"

I loved Bowler Hat Guy... and his freaky legs. I thought his backstory was a bit predictable, but I love the sequence of his life. He's a bad villain... and not in the 'scar killed his own brother!' way... he's a bad villain; totally incompetent. That added to the film far more than if he was just plain evil.

Also, I'm surprised by your Wild Hogs review. I haven't seen it but those I know who have said it was decent. Not too many loved it or hated it... pretty neutral.

That's what I didn't get! The crowd seemed to love it, even though I was watching it crash and burn! It's one of those movies that is just full of the lowest, and dirtiest jokes that must've taken them all of five seconds to think up. If you're looking for a really cheap laugh, It's ok. But if you want real comedy, Wild Hogs is not the movie for that. I really wanted to like it too, or at least be surprised.

No Blades of Glory? You missed the best movie of the weekend!
Yes, I'd like to go see that sometime as well. There's just so many movies coming out, it's hard to find time. The one I'm looking forward to the most though is Hot Fuzz, out April 20th. It's from the guys that brought you the great Shaun of the Dead. I love that movie, and this one looks great too!
